CNCNZ.com Forums | Official Rules

Lasted Updated: 23 February 2009

These rules are to be observed and followed by all members of the CNCNZ.com Forums. By registering or posting on our forums you agree to abide by these rules.
  1. Make sure you are posting your topics and threads in the right forums. Our moderators will move topics to the correct forums if they are found to be posted in the wrong forum.

  2. Please try to stay on topic. This is more of tip than a rule because it is sometimes hard to keep a topic flowing. If any thread goes way off topic our moderators may choose to split it and create new threads out of the original thread or simply lock it.

  3. Threads in the Front Page News forum must remain on topic at all times. There is no exception to this rule. Any off topic posts will be deleted without any reason given by a moderator.

  4. We reserve the right to close/edit/delete any topic posted on our forums. If this happens to something you have posted and you are not sure why feel free to send a private message to a moderator asking why the post was removed or changed.

  5. Don't encourage the closing of topics. If the topic has turned into a spam/flame war, it will be closed by the moderators as soon as we feel necessary, however, when a topic goes off topic, instead of wanting it closed, try to steer it back on topic. We will close what we feel is necessary to be closed.

  6. Under no circumstances should old topics be resurrected. By this we mean old topics that have not been posted in for the 1-2 month range. These are considered dead topics, don't bring them back to life, because nobody is interested in them any more. Exceptions will be made if the post is reason enough to warrant restarting the discussion. The moderators will decide this.

  7. Do not argue with the Admin/Moderating team. The golden rule is the moderator is always right.

  8. There is to be absolutely no pornography, nudity, warez or other inappropriate material of this nature posted on our forums, this will not be tolerated. Members who are caught posting inappropriate material like this will be banned immediately. In some cases your IP address will recorded and reported to the appropriate authorities.

  9. Avoid personal attacks towards other forum members. If you don't agree with what someone posted, debate their post... not the person that posted it.

  10. Absolutely no name calling or insulting of other forum members and/or staff, such as Admins/Mods, will be tolerated on these forums.

  11. Don't post or discuss anything related to a persons ethnic background, religion or other religious themes. Posting such related material has been known to insult and offend forum members. This forum is used by persons of all race and religious backgrounds. All members should respect this fact without others visiting in fear of hatred, and personal attacks such as flaming. Anyone caught posting topics about race, religion or religious themes will have their account suspended or will even be banned without warning!

  12. We ask that you refrain from the over use of profanity. Remember your posting on a public website and these forums are visited by people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Many of which do not appreciate vulgar language. Our moderators will allow a little foul language (nothing nasty) slide but if it gets out of hand action will be taken. The forum is configured to censor most profanity. Do not attempt to get around the censor function so the profanity appears in your posts.

  13. Don't post or discuss anything related to copied/ripped/downloaded versions of any games (C&C or otherwise) or other software applications. Under no circumstances should you post questions or replies offering methods to circumvent copy protection schemes. This includes asking for or offering links to "NoCD" patches for any games (C&C or otherwise) or other software applications. The only exception to this rule is for the free versions of Command & Conquer, Red alert and Tiberian Sun made available by Electronic Arts.

  14. Don't post or discuss anything related to cheats/trainers/hacks/cracks/torrents for any game/program on our forums. This include methods explaining how to use exploits in games (C&C or otherwise), links to sites about cheats/trainers/hacks/cracks/torrents or screen shots revealing them. Under no circumstances should you post questions asking about cheats/trainers/hacks/cracks/torrents for any game/program (C&C or otherwise).

  15. Do not advertise/promote/spam your site or other services unless your trying show off something you have found or done, or your posting links to related material or your simply trying to help somebody find something. You can promote news and/or features about your site in our Community News forum.

  16. Signatures are a fun way to express yourself at the bottom of your posts and we do allow them. However for the sake of faster loading times on the forums you must keep the use of images to a minimum. Signature image files should not exceed 30kb in size, please keep the physical size of your signature to a decent size. Multiple images should not be used, especially if they are large. Common banner-ad sizing (468 x 60 pixels) is a good example of an appropriate size.

  17. Avatars are also allowed and your encouraged to set one up. Your avatar image should should not exceed 50 KB in size and can be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels.

  18. The ranking system is designed for fun, it should not be considered a competition or a race to the highest rank. Anyone caught abusing the ranking system by posting rubbish topics or posting senseless replies will have their post count reduced.

  19. Post counts are simply that, a count of your total posts. They are not to be considered a competition or a race. Anyone caught increasing there post count by posting rubbish topics or posting senseless replies will have their post count reduced.

  20. Don't over use any of the Emotions or Smiles [ EG biggrin.gif smile.gif sad.gif ] in your posts.

  21. Only use the quotes when replying to something that is further up the page or on a different page in a particular thread. Over use of the quote replying will result your message being edited or deleted and a warning given to you.

  22. No giant fonts with ugly colours, it makes the forums look bad. Use the font sizes and colours sensibly.

  23. Don't post huge images in your posts, this slows loading times and it can mess up the layout of the forums. Our forums will automatically resize wide images anyway, but if you find your image is not resizing, please change it yourself.
