  3. It's Thursday once again so it's time for another Throwback Thursday. Today we remember one of the critical scenes from Tiberian Sun. We had seen some dark and twisted themes appear in Command & Conquer games before, but nothing like this. Remember this was 1999 and times were changing in games and entertainment, as they were starting to push the boundaries in terms of what they could show, in the effort of story telling of course. The execution of the traitor Hassan by Anton Salvik was certainly an eye opening moment. The impact of it is made more memorable as a "resurrected" Kane watches from above, almost from a god like position. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

  7. The resources are the most important part of any RTS game, and Command & Conquer games are no different with Tiberium in the Tiberium universe, Ore and Gems in the Red Alert universe. Here's a funny video that opens the debate, which classic RTS game has the best resource. The video features Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, Dune 2000, StarCraft, Warcraft 2 and more.... So what is the best resource ever in RTS games?

  12. Can you believe that Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun is now 15 years old? Many of the Command & Conquer games made by Westwood Studios are truly classics now simply based on their ages. Tiberian Sun is arguably the reason why the C&C Community exists today. Way back in 1997 when Tiberian Sun was announced many little fan sites popped up on the internet, including the early foundations for CNCNZ.com. You see, during the Command & Conquer and Red Alert early days, we never really had an online community, well I guess it was there, but Tiberian Sun sort of changed things in these early days, and the community exploded with activity in a short space of time. The hype for this game was huge, we followed its development intensely, studied every bit of news that Westwood gave to us. Originally set for a late 1998 release, the game got pushed back to the 27th of August 1999. So 1998's biggest game got released in 1999. The game is still considered a true C&C by anyone's standards, but Westwood Studios promised a lot for Tiberian Sun and came up a little short. Tiberian Sun became an underwhelming experience with many of its over hyped, over marketed features simply cut from the game. It was during the development of Tiberian Sun that EA took over as the new owners of Westwood Studios, and people blame EA for the delayed release and cut features. When in fact if it wasn't for EA, Tiberian Sun may not have seen the light of day. It was Westwood who were digging themselves into a deep development hole. Simply promising too much and failing to deliver at the last hurdle. But it's not all bad, it was still a successful game, earning high reviews and general positive praise from fans despite the short comings. If anything it was saved by the powerful and rich story. Tiberian Sun is now "freeware", if you have never played it or lost your copy, grab the download using the link below. The download also includes the Firestorm add-on. Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun (1.3 GB) Share your best Tiberian Sun memories and moments with us in this thread on our forums.

I'm seem to have problem with Tiberian Sun GDI mission 16(or 15) Destroy Prototype Facility http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Destroy_Prototype_Facility I can choose 1 of 2 territories to attack for this mission, but no matter what I choose I always get this: "Tiberian Sun has encountered an internal error" I'm using Windows XP, C&C The First Decade to play and Tiberian Sun says in main menu that my game version is "v2.03 mmx st-10". This error already occured in game sometimes but never before while loading mission. This mission simply wouldnt load at all. Maybe someone can help me and provide with a save file of this mission for v2.03? Or is there other solutions? Thank you.

  24. I'm putting together a new feature for CNCNZ.com and it requires some input from you, the long time Command & Conquer fan. What you need to do is share with us your favourite, most memorable or simply the most awesome moment from any of the Command & Conquer games. The moment that makes you simile, laugh or think "now that was bad ass!". For example, it could be a scene stealing moment such as when Kane makes his announced appearance during the Soviet campaign in the original Red Alert. For me, it was such an unexpected moment, Kane barely says a word, but his presence was so powerful. So what's your favourite Command & Conquer moment? Or moments. Share them with us in this topic. It will also help if you include a screenshot and describe why you like the moment so much.
