  1. Command & Conquer 3's Tiberium Essence mod is a community favorite. Not only does it alter Tiberium Wars to bring it closer to Tiberian Sun's level of advanced technology and Tiberium wildlife, but it also brings many new additions, one of which is a fully-playable Forgotten faction. Tiberium Essence 1 retains the original faction, but Tiberium Essence 2 will go into more interesting directions. While Tiberium Essence 2's first version added the Forgotten, the next version will also bring a playable CABAL faction. Just in time for the holidays, as usual, mod author Carnius has posted some screenshots of the upcoming CABAL faction to Tiberium Essence's ModDB page, as well as a short update on where development stands for the next release. You can read Carnius' address and update to the community over here. For a better glance at the screenshots, feel free to visit the mod's gallery over here. Enjoy, Commanders!
  2. Happy (belated) New Year, everyone! Now that the holidays have ended and my personal health issues have passed, it's time to review what's recently been going around the Command & Conquer community. The biggest news, as you can see from the image above, is that last night, Frank Klepacki and The Tiberian Sons performed Command & Conquer tracks live at MAGFest. This music spectacle was streamed live on Twitch, and there is a recording available here at around 01:05:14, with a YouTube mirror (hopefully in higher quality) likely to end up on the official MAGFest channel. If you haven't already, watch that concert (don't just listen to it, that's all I'm willing to spoil!), you owe it to yourselves. W3D Hub have revealed their latest project - the Tiberian Dawn: Ground Zero standalone mod for Renegade, which will be properly based on Tiberian Dawn. The highly polished final version 009 of the Contra mod for Zero Hour is now out. GenTool has been updated to version 7.6 with three bugfixes. You can grab it from CNCNZ.com or the official GenTool website. The 2.0 alpha version of the Tiberium Essence mod for Tiberium Wars has been released. The massive 3.78 patch for the C&C Untitled mod for Zero Hour has been released. The Dawn of the Tiberium Age has been updated to version 1.176. The Mental Omega mod for Yuri's Revenge has a screenshot hinting at an ominous and oddly familiar device.
  3. There has been some fantastic results for some of the popular Command & Conquer mods in the 2015 Mod of the Year Awards. In the Players Choice category, Rise of the Reds for Zero Hour got second place, and Mental Omega for Yuri's Revenge came in third place. There was an honourable mention for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars mod, Tiberium Essence. Meanwhile, in the Editors Choice category. More success for Mental Omega for Yuri's Revenge by achieving third place. And Generals Evolution for Red Alert 3 earned an honourable mention. Congratulations to all of these Command & Conquer mods for some well deserved recognition.
  4. Version 1.52 of Tiberium Essence is still in development. However, new units, structures and upgrades have been revealed for this upcoming release; Nod will receive the Toxin Trooper and GDI will be able to build Firestorm Generators. GDI will also receive a Railgun upgrade for the Juggernaut and a frontal tread armour upgrade for the Mammoth Tank. Click here to visit the mod's gallery and see all of the new screenshots. Additionally, the mod's soundtrack has been released, containing new tracks made mostly by Vlado32. You can download it here.
  5. While version 1.52 of Tiberium Essence has been delayed, progress is still being made on this upcoming release. Carnius, the mod's developer, has given us a few new pictures of a secret GDI unit - The Kodiak. This unit is available upon capturing a Tacitus Library tech structure. Click here to visit the mod's gallery and see all of the new Kodiak screenshots.
  6. Version 1.52 of the Tiberium Essence mod for C&C3 will release this week. New screenshots have been released, unveiling a new tech structure: The Tacitus Archive. This tech structure replaces the Tech Expansion Point, including on the original maps that came with the game. Once captured, it will allow GDI, Nod or Scrin to build epic units that are tailored to count every type of unit, though there will be a limit on how many can be built at once. The Scrin receive the Conqueror, whilst GDI receives a Colossus mech and Nod, a Destroyer Cyborg. Tiberium Essence's next version, 1.52, will include a few modifications to Nod's arsenal: The Harpy's design has been updated with a central, heavily-armored ducted rotor instead of the classic exposed rotor and renamed the Venom, while the Brotherhood has also received a new unit; The Tarantula Mine is an upgraded Limpet Drone that will seek and destroy enemy targets, rather than attaching to vehicles. Additionally, maps will now have new Tiberium crystal doodads, both in green and blue variants.
