JimmyJohns 0 Posted June 27, 2012 Just wanted to say Thanks for the fantastic 1.3 patch and that I'm really looking forward to the 1.4. Keep up the great work guys Share this post Link to post
Loaderini 0 Posted January 28, 2013 (edited) Thank you so much for keeping alive AND for upgrading the First Decade, guys. I was wondering, would a donation help you in your work? If yes, then what is the paypal account? I could try to gather some money and donate to you because you are awesome in every way. Edited January 28, 2013 by Loaderini Share this post Link to post
AuthenticM 1 Posted May 6, 2013 Once I'm done with school (2014-ish) and I have more time, I will be doing a complete redo of TFD 1.04....a new one right from scratch. Sorry that its so far away though..... Still one year to go. I don't post but I do lurk once every month or so. It seems there is more activity at the EA C&C forums. What's your main base ? Here or there, or someplace else ? CC Share this post Link to post
Prisoner416 2 Posted August 13, 2013 I look forward to more work on the patch. My main hope is that we can get a nice way to have the hi-res RA implemented in a simple method, rather then having to apply multiple patches. Using Arba right now. IT'd be cool if we could get the Ant missions FMV from the PS version in a patch, like the lost files does. However, file size and other limitations make that unlikely. Still amazing that after all these years people are actively working on these games. I used to spend hours on RA on an old NEC Windows 98 PC. Wonderful memories, that. Share this post Link to post
Sonarpulse 1 Posted August 23, 2013 I think you mean Arda, not Arba. Anyways use Iran's patch, Portable RA, which is what you want. Share this post Link to post
M77En 0 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Please someone help me. I downloaded the TFD 1.03 Revision 4 patch from this site, but when I tried to install it, I get an "Invalid Data" message. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64, on an Alienware m11x laptop. Patch 1.02, from EA, also does not install. The only game I really, really wanted to play is Yuri's Revenge. That game does not start, even in Windows XP compatibility mode. It just goes to a blank screen, then back to my desktop. I installed TFD from the disc. I don't know what to do. Nothing I try seems to work.... =-[ Edit: ***Okay*** I can get Yuri's Revenge to work by changing the "RA2md.exe" file to Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. However, the game loads incredibly slow! Also, Red Alert 2 runs extremely slow, especially when there is an explosion in-game (seriously, it takes like 10 seconds for the game to smooth out whenever there's an explosion in the game... Why? The game should run flawlessly on a Windows 7 OS!). If anyone could find a TFD 1.03 installer that isn't corrupted, please link it to me in a comment. Final Edit: **********Okay********** Everything seems run perfectly now. All I needed to do was download TFD Patch 1.03 Revision 2 (not 4) from Moddb website. The installer worked fine, and now Yuri's Revenge, my precious, sweet childhood RTS, runs nice and smooth now... 4v4 skirmish... Anyway, sorry for ranting. Guest Rabbit Posted January 6, 2014 Well, I'm glad you figured out the issue. Thanks for returning and posting what your process for fixing it was. Someone else may have this problem and find your solution to be their answer. Share this post Link to post
daverobertsfilm 0 Posted March 23, 2014 Hi all,Huge fan of the project, huge fan of C&C and a guy who has been quietly involved in modding over the last decade. I have come back to play my beloved C&C games and noticed this project, as a joint patch, has gone quiet, mainly due to nathan's absence. However, with all the different patches out there that have been making progress since this last project, and hardware and OS changes since this was lat put out, I would love the project to be recreated. So I am proposing that I will help to do exactly this. Ideas and info welcome, I'm currently doing research. And yes, this is a serious proposition. Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted March 25, 2014 Right. I'm all for it, but there have been gigantic leaps in development in RA1 (and, to some extent, C&C1) made by the CnCNet project people lately, mostly by Iran, and I personally can't make heads or tails from what they actually got right now. In fact, I'm never even sure what they see as the latest version of RA1... I'm looking into restarting my own project, C&C95 v1.06, on an Assembler programming/patching framework made by hifi, but it requires me to restart everything from scratch rather than building on the current exe. Which is probably a good thing, because that thing is a bit of a mess. I've been feeling more motivated to start on this again lately, and, hopefully some great new developments will come from that. ...if I manage to figure out and fix Iran's sidebar expanding code, that is Share this post Link to post
daverobertsfilm 0 Posted March 25, 2014 I've been doing some digging around and researching a few things. The RA1 thing has confused me aswell. Iran's patch seems to be the latest greatest used patch from what I can see, but whenever I see a link to the patch, it just takes me to portable RA download page. Surely the patch has been released seperately aswell?Be great to get people on board, epsecially yourself Nyerguds. Quick question, you mention restarting the C&C patch, would you be switching to an inject method like Ares for YR and Arda for RA1? Or just stick with exe hacks.I'm at work at the moment but I'll be posting up some framework ideas this evening. Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted March 25, 2014 No, hifi's framework is not a memory injection method. It is fairly similar in terms of actually injecting the code, I guess, but it actually writes everything into the exe itself. It's more or less a way to automate the patching of an exe file into an actual programming project, where I write code in asm language, specify where to inject it, and the system takes care of all the rest, including where to place the code and data I use inside the exe. As for Iran's RA work, I'm fairly sure portable RA is the only way it's been released. Share this post Link to post
daverobertsfilm 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Not had a chance to write out my plans yet but one of my thoughts was to build a new game launcher to simplify some things,I will expand on this but here is a quick mockup of a launcher using the metro style. This would allow easy implementation of patched and 'vanilla' online editions of games, links to tools like map editors and possibly even map and or mod management. Share this post Link to post
AuthenticM 1 Posted May 23, 2014 Hey yall. I'm glad this project is still alive. Thank you daverobertsfilm for jumping in. Nyerguds, could you elaborate a little on the "gigantic leaps in development" with RA1 ? This has me very excited. The Red Alert subforum in here hasn't been active in a very long time; is there some other forums where one can follow modders' work ? Thanks. Also, has anyone heard from Nathan since two years ago ? I hope he returns. 1 Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted May 23, 2014 Uhh... I think most of that is over at the C&C Communications Center forum. It's mostly Iran developing on RA1 I think. Share this post Link to post
Kai von Hagen 0 Posted June 23, 2014 so when i understand it right tfd 1.04 will work with the origin ultimate Edition and will come this Year ? Share this post Link to post

Fullmetalarmour 0 Posted October 2, 2014 A very good project c&c series is immortal classics i hope someone will add that the games can be played smoother on newer systems like win 7 and win 8(i avoid that i hate win 8) and in about a year win 10 is comming. For me The First Decade works with all patches on win 7 64 bit but i had little trubble getting them to work but now they work. It would be good with a new launcher that includes the recent c&c games if you installed them but skip Tiberian Twilight. Share this post Link to post

Prisoner416 2 Posted January 8, 2016 Welcome to 2016. Been a while since I checked for updates, and am just learning now of new patches like the Iran RA1 one I have to search for now. Is there an updated list of recommended patches? I mean, I trust Nyerguds patch for the first, used it for years, but I'd like to make sure I use the right RA1. Last I used was Arma and I have to redownload it and remember how to set it up. Share this post Link to post

Nyerguds 100 Posted January 15, 2016 For RA2/YR there's also the cncnet-YR package, which does some updating and fixing too as far as I know, and of course, against the Dreaded Black Screen Problem, DDWrapper Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted March 2, 2017 Nope. The list above still applies. Except that DDWrapper is apparently included in the CnCNet YR package, and just an option in the config now. Share this post Link to post

What I mean is can I install all these patches on top of the already installed TFD Unofficial Patch 1.03 rev4 without having issues? Most notably the one I highlighted which explicitly states not to install it on top of the unofficial patch as it destroys the Firestorm missions but fixes the main menu glitch that TFDUP doesn't. I did manage to patch Tiberian Dawn on top of TFDUP 1.03 with Nyerguds' patch 1.06c revision 3 for Tiberian Dawn, since TDUP has the revision 1 included. All other games work with TFDUP 1.03 on Win10 x64 flawlessly except for Tiberian Sun menu glitch. And for those details, I think a future TFDUP 1.03 rev5 is sufficient enough to be final with the multiplayer fixes included. Edited April 6, 2017 by Bambacha Share this post Link to post
