Fake HL3 released in the Middle East is fake.

Are you sure? Two negatives make a positive after all. :o

Hey, it's advertised as HL3. Fake releases like that are not something new. China, for one thing, not only has Diablo V, but also its expansion pack.

Hah, lol.

Starcraft 1 has a genuine, hungarian-only, second expansion pack, though. Not official though, but apparently they did have negotiations about that with Blizzard. Fell through when they couldn't get it translated, or something. It's on ModDB now.

Ho-lee everything. This I've got to see :o Too bad nothing's in English, though.

For the record, there were two more licensed, but unofficial mission packs for Starcraft 1: Retribution and Insurrection (with an

), both released in 1998.

I really liked the INssurection voice-pack... "You represent who?" :D. StarCraft 1 suffers from grevious plot.

HunCraft has actual new cinematics, units, and three full campaigns, though... hardly comparable :o

New leaked image of a Left 4 Dead 2 map under Source Engine 2:

http://www.neoseeker.com/news/24498-left-4-dead-2s-plantation-map-updated-in-valves-source-20-engine-shown-in-leaked-image/

and

http://metro.co.uk/2014/01/28/source-2-and-left-4-dead-images-leak-from-valve-4280035/

A remake of Left 4 Dead 2 maps on Source 2 is okay but using recycling material (like the maps) just to get into Left 4 Dead 3 is going to wind up like Unreal Tournament 2004.

Also was there a rumor that Valve is tired of making single-player only games? If so, Half-Life series is definitely heading into another long hiatus. Maybe Call of Duty, Battlefield and GTA series have pwned the Half-Life series for good.

None of these articles concludes anything really. They show minor references. Of course HL3 has been worked on to some degree (Valve even stated that they where experimenting with new ideas at some point), but expecting it to actually be released, and in a near future, is a complete waste of concern.

Until anything official is said, it's all speculation. If it where to be told about that a HL3 is in active development, it would come from the developers and certainly not from speculative articles from news sites or ad-plastered YouTube videos.

News of Valve quietly releasing part of the Source 2 Engine was seen in the Dota 2 modding/mapping tools alpha version:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/08/07/source-2-tools-teased-in-dota-2-update/#null

and

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/473362/valve-suspected-to-have-soft-launched-source-2-engine/

I am afraid chances of a Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Portal 3 and Dota 3 are very slim, not since Activision's Call of Duty, EA's Battlefield and Rockstar's GTA series might have crushed Valve's hopes of creating a more popular and better PC game of their own, not even Half-Life.

Maybe it's about time, if the Half-Life community is like the Unreal Tournament community, fans should create a new game based from the new engine and collaborate with the main developer.

IDK who came up with this, but that is absolutely ridiculous and a funding campaign isn't going to grab Valve's attention: http://kotaku.com/ad-agencys-half-life-3-campaign-is-a-terrible-idea-1647371790

It's gonna take more than a million dollars to get a real development of HL3 going.... if only it takes on GTA, COD and Battlefield series.

It appears the logo for HL3 is real (thanks to recent spoilers), and this time it might get a brief E3 appearance by Valve.

Depending on which developing interest Valve may be going for with the new Source Engine 2, I'll say Left 4 Dead 3 releases first before Half-Life 3.

Even I thought that those reasons in this video will make Valve never going to release HL3, fearing of a repeat of Mass Effect 3's epic fail ending and Duke Nukem Forever's outdated gameplay as an old relic:

As for the reasons why HL3 is taking so damn long, this seems pretty reasonable: http://airherald.com/half-life-3-will-come-when-valve-has-new-technology-possibly-completely-vr-based/9851/

As for the 10 people working on HL3 rumour, here's what can shed some light - see the Cabals paragraph: http://blog.inf.ed.ac.uk/sapm/2014/03/14/management-at-valve-an-analysis-of-management-practices-at-valve-software/

Time to insert the clutching at straws image I think

t2T3jCn.jpg

Seriously, some coincidental code in some other Valve game doesn't mean Half-Life 3 is being made. The hardcore fans should really stopping looking for something that doesn't exist.

I stopped caring about Half-Life 3 years ago anyway,

I was about to give up on HL3 anyway, but HL3 EP3 The Closure (the unofficial expansion to HL2) is too close to call for an upcoming release either this month or by the end of the year which should answer some hope and questions for HL fans.

IGN recently gather most of HL3 rumors together and even ordered them by date

there are enough info to suggest that they either stuck in the development / playing with us / don't know what they want from themselves / Pooky / Kirby / Garfield ~

While it's not worth opening a new thread about this and had to bump a six-year old thread, I guess Gabe Newell is still open of returning to the Half-Life experience in a long, long time: http://www.pcgamer.com/gabe-newell-valve-is-using-source-2-for-unannounced-products

Also this article: http://www.pcgamer.com/do-we-really-need-half-life-3

I think it's too late for HL3 already. People have already passed on and at least the only SP game Valve is definitely working is.... Left 4 Dead 3.

Supposedly there's going to be a new Wolfenstein, according to a 1-2 year rumour from a Polish voice-actress who worked on The New Order, I'll bet there's a higher chance of that over Half Life 3. If Valve makes a single player game then cool, who knows whether it'll be strongly connected to Half Life or not. Presumably if it's single player it'll need a kick ass story so 50/50 odds then? ;)
