After a really interesting question from Mr_Killt on the C&C Communications Center forums, about the Nod mission in the original Command & Conquer where you have to assassinate Dr. Chan, I used my answers to him to write a small article on ModDB, detailing some of the special code used in Command & Conquer's campaign missions.

Good Article!

I'm not sure if this is related but I was wondering if you could make a key to turn on and off the "screenshaker". You know, everytime a large object/unit is destroyed it shakes the screen.
It could be turned on for SP mode and off for MP mode.

In my opinion, a really desirable effect.

There is a "Scientist" outside the tech center in the Nintendo 64 version of C&C. I will play this mission again to confirm

I haven't played the N64 campaigns that far, but the Scientist idea came mostly from some missions in RA1 where the Chan unit was renamed to that.

I'd have to look into that. I think Hyper's db had it named, but that doesn't mean I have any idea how it's supposed to be linked into the game code.

however, like with a lot of DOS C&C code, it's entirely possible it gives odd results in high-res.

Nop, it is a civillian. Anyway, it is funny to see that he got black head in Nintendo 64. Anyway, you don't need to destroy the tech center in N64, if you kill the Chan outside will make you win.

Well, yes, that's how the mission originally worked, so it's obvious the N64 version has it that way. I just changed it because it wasn't the way it was INTENDED.

Most likely, the N64 version won't even contain the special logic, and destroying the tech center won't even give you a CHAN unit.
