EA says DRM a 'failed, dead-end strategy'

Recommended Posts

At least EA recognizes it, but they still continue to use it. However, as of now, I don't think there's anything that can replace DRM other than the old fashioned way: inputting serials, encoding discs and requiring discs to run games (the way old games should be).

And what about Securom? Was that a failed strategy too?

Neither do I. Those were the days :)

Always been. Wait a few days and you'll have several crack teams bypass SecuROM, sometimes improving the game's functionality. 'Arr!

EA's logic....

If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck and quacks like a duck, then its a, Zebra. ;)

Now if only they could recognize that always-online is just as bad...

I'm sure that someday in the future, everyone will always be online and games will be too, but the day for that has not yet arrived.
