More Details About the Command & Conquer Cancellation

Recommended Posts

A few more details about the shock cancellation of Command & Conquer and sad closure of Victory Games have emerged. Reports suggest that the blog posted on the Official Command & Conquer Site, which details the reason for ceasing production, was allegedly "not ok'd by the development team". Here's a recap of this news from IGN.

There must more that has happened behind closed doors that led to the game being axed and the studio closing. As we discover it, we will be sure to report any new information to you.

Looks like that tweet was deleted. Oh well.

In any case, the person who posted it also posted on twitter that he's only been working there for three weeks, so his word doesn't carry as much weight on the situation.

EA man!! I can see their demise in the closer future... they keep pouring money in to invest on new games then kill them off before they can hatch... and they would eventually lose all loyal consumers cause they keep screwing with them, keepng them fasle hope is one of the biggest crime... and the losses are gonna increase exponentially cause the negativity (I am trying to use modest word) would just keep building up...

EDIT: may be the world gonna end and they know about it......XD

So Long And Thanks For All The Fish

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that it has been a pleasure working on this game and I hope you all have enjoyed the closed alpha!

This isn't official or anything, but you probably saw that our whole team got the ax. I hope you understand that we at VG all were dedicated to making a game for all of you to play, and that the press release line was total b.s. It was NOT any feedback from the alpha that shut this project down but just petty corporate politics and shenanigans.

We were all shocked and confused to find out that our studio is closed (and that we are all out of jobs!), but I am happy to see that the game is still up and running RIGHT NOW and that a lot of people are still having fun with it. Please enjoy the live game until they figure out how to turn off the servers (it might be a while)!

Cheers,
