Kane's Wrath: Worth patching from 1.00?

Recommended Posts

Is it worth patching this to 1.01 or 1.02?

Also are there any touched patches availble instead of using the exe?

It'd be nice to manually update files and remove them if needed.

thanks

Patch to 1.02 ASAP. The economy may be different (more expensive refineries and harvesters), but so many bugs were fixed in 1.01 and 1.02 (e.g. Titans can no longer crush other Titans and Wolverines). Official patch notes are here: http://www.cncnz.com/features/technical-support-help-guides/command-conquer-3-kanes-wrath-v101-v102-patch-history/

Also, 1.02 is mandatory for online compatibility. If you want a near-perfect experience, consider getting the 1.02+ mappacks, popular in multiplayer, which fix even more bugs (and change almost nothing in the general balance unless needed for fixing a greater problem, but that's not noticable). http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showtopic=906040

EDIT: Wild guess on manual deletion of files:

CNC3EP1_english_1.2.skudef

Core\1.1 (entire folder)

Core\1.2 (entire folder)

EnglishAudio\1.1 (entire folder)

EnglishAudio\1.2 (entire folder)

Lang-english\1.1 (entire folder)

Lang-english\1.2 (entire folder)

Meta\1.1 (entire folder)

Meta\1.2 (entire folder)

RetailExe\1.1 (entire folder)

RetailExe\1.2 (entire folder)

(where "English/english" may be substituted with whatever language version you're using)

Also, cnc3ep1.exe seems newer than CNC3EP1_english_1.0.skudef (dated 5 March 2008, not long before the game's initial release), so you can try and replace it with the one from the DVD.

...or simply reinstall :P
