What if Einstein had travelled through time to assassinate Churchill?

No I wasn't aiming it at anyone. Eugenics has certainly returned, in a way, especially through crime statistics (social theory stuff). It's still a case of the state thinking that it knows better than the plebs. Eugenics was always disgusting, but I guess it didn't affect the majority of people so it was seen as good.

By the way, if you hadn't noticed, eugenics has been back in scientific interest again for about the past two decades.

May i ask - where? By whom?

I am mainly talking about human genetic engineering; eugenics in its purest form. It is not science fiction, and has been steadily drawing closer to reality for quite some time. Recent advances like CRISPR may not only make human genetic engineering possible in the relatively near future, but easy and affordable.

However, even on a smaller scale and in the present, some would-be parents have their blood tested to search for inheritable diseases or other genetic incompatibilities. This is indeed eugenics too.

Eugenics has a dirty reputation because of the Nazis, but it is not "always disgusting" as you put it. Eugenics is only as disgusting as the objectives of the people practicing it.

In 2009 I read a book titled Better for All the World: The Secret History of Forced Sterilization and America's Quest for Racial Purity by Harry Bruinius. Every time someone tells me that the Nazis were evil because of eugenics, I will refer them to this book :)

Classic tu quoque fallacy.

I hope other forum members feel the same way. The Nazis were evil because of it. Just because someone else does it does not mean it absolves anyone of guilt or being labelled as the bad guys. If that book is legitimate, those same people are sadistic assholes, just like the Nazis who perpetrated this bull****. Don't play this relativist bull****.
