Mammoth tank ASSEMBLED!

Recommended Posts

My son needed a new bedroom, because he will turn 8 soon and was still sleeping in a "Captain Sharky" pirate room.
He is a big fan of Command and Conquer 3 - Tiberium Wars (as am i). So we decided his next room would be built around the Command and Conquer theme.

After a lot of searching on ebay, aliexpress etc. I could not find any merchandise of these games. So i decided to 3d-print something for him. The Mammoth Tank seemed like an excellent choice.

See the link below to download the model.

Please let me know what you think :)

Amazing work!

The large treads are how I imagine the Mammoth Tank. Good work! Is that based on a wire mesh that you downloaded?

Is it capable of moving any parts, or is it rigid?

I almost wish I wasn't aware of how horrifically C&C's tank designs would function in real life though (ah, the sheer volume of shot traps on that thing), so I could appreciate it more.

C'mon, Nmenth, things can be awesome even when they're unrealistic. Case in point: walkers.

I suppose it is the uncanny valley of military hardware. Walkers are too ridiculous to take seriously, but the tanks look close enough to reality that the lack of realism becomes more notable.

No, it is based on the model below:

The only part that does move is the turret. The tracks are linked and behave like real tracks, but the wheels can not move.
I designed this to be a model and not a toy. My boy is 7 and when he starts playing with this, well..   unit lost..

Firehawk? That's not how you spell Vertigo.

Seriously, though, eager to see it finished!

So, ApieVuist. Are you going to do more of this in addition to the Mammoth Tank and Firehawk, maybe a Mammoth Mark II?

Hi PurpleGaga,

I'm planning on building a Juggernaut next. But that will probably be the last.
Modelling and building these units consumes a lot of my time...

My favourite part about this is that C&C actually acknowledged the issue by allowing commandos to blow up walkers in C&C3.

Both of them look awesome. Does the Juggernaut's left side have the cockpit in place?
