The rank system from the old forums is now active on the new one. Its basically the same as before but some things have changed.

1) There is no starting rank. New users are unranked.
2) There are no ranks for forum staff, the groups control takes care of this.
3) Custom Ranks: The custom ranks from the old forums are completely gone. No more little images and so on. From now own once a user reaches 500 posts they will be allowed to insert their own custom title.

If you have forgotten the ranking system here is is....

I don't think it's possible with IPB or if it is... major tweaking involved? I don't really know, but Sonic might have other reasons for not wanting it. I just felt it added a bit of style to the forums. (Plus it made the member info part to the left of our posts look cooler)

Sorry no chance of them ever returing. I got sick of making them, it was tedious process to create them, set them up and so on. Better off without them. The custom user titles should work out better in the long run. There is no way of associating any sort of image with them though

Wooo! Any sign of custom images returning? You could make a guideline where you have to create one yourself, if you cannot, someone else can but if it doesn't fit the requirement, no questions it will be rejected type of policy.

As I said a few posts up the page there will be no custom rank images any more. Once you reach 500 posts you qualify for a custom user title that you can input yourself via your profile page. It can be changed as you please as well.

F15 has that General icon and it displays A-OK for me.

I don't see any images for regular members. They're broken at home and at work.

Now I see what the problem is. The images are associated with the actual skin. Since I only uploaded the rank images for the BlueRes skin the boring white skins couldn't find them. They should be loading on those skins now though.

That's the rank for General, 4 stars. There are no ranks after that.

It seems I still have to double up before I'm a General... might take me another 5 years

We're a Command & Conquer forum. We're always at war. Or are you talking about this "in real life" concept I keep hearing about?
