Why bother developing a game that at this point has to be really good to alienate the fans when you have the world's largest digital game shop that generates money with little effort?

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
TaxOwlbear replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Not necessarily. Red logos were also used Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith. I expect them to go with a blue one for the third/ninth film. -
Allocating resources to specific tasks sounds like a good idea, but I doubt that this will have a great impact (and the article mentions a 2-5% increase). In my experience, the vast majority of games just can't utilise the resources they have properly. I played some Act of Aggression recently, and it's amazing how optimised that game is compared to other titles. Even with a lot of stuff going on, I get 90FPS+ in 1080p and 60FPS in 1440p, which is way better than the performance of, say, Starcraft II.

Churchill was just and MP when Britain declared war on Germany. Where did he get these mystical powers to order other MPs to be arrested from? As someone who's currently online via a European server: The video is watchable and not "banned". Also, Jeff, the guy who owns that channel calls himself a "national socialist" in his Twitter account description. You are linking to a literal Nazi's channel here. Someone who thinks gassing six million Jews is cool. Do you really think Jewish conspiracies are the "impartial truth"? -

And this bit of speculation is supported by what evidence... ? Declare war on whom? -

Alas, Jeff, both apply. -
AOE2 is still popular considering its age (no pun intended) and has an active community. It did in fact get an expansion with African civilisations only a couple months back.

Dune Spice Opera? I saw that being sold for rather spicy prices online. -
Adding the general you are playing as to his/her own challenge?
TaxOwlbear replied to TaxOwlbear's topic in Generals / Zero Hour Maps & Modding
I tried that, but was unable to figure out the victory conditions. I haven't really used the World Builder before, though. -

Done. That was surprisingly easy. EDIT: It sort of works. The maps seem to be unwinnable, even after destroying all enemy units and structures. AT first I thought that maybe I had to destroy all Stealth General core buildings (including my own), but even selling my base and only keeping my units doesn't allow me to win. -

Okay, I found the entry in INIZH.big. Currently fiddling around with a FinalBIG. -
The first half was a bit slow (basically the main character being handcuffed four (?) times), but the second half was spectacular. Not bad at all.

Which factions were involved? Anyway, generally spoken, it's enough to build three construction units, a Barracks, and a Supply Depot. Once your constructions units are ready, build three basic base defences (Patriot Battery, Gatling Gun, Stinger Site/Tunnel Network). Those should easy eat a Medium AI's first wave of units. After/during that, build an Arms Factory and tech up. Build units to support your defences, and also build more defences if you want. After that, you can turtle until you have a large enough army to steamroll the AI. Make sure that you have two superweapons ready (or a superweapon-like power like the A10 Strike or the Artillery Barrage) to take out the AI's superweapon.

I use the arrow keys to scrolls, and mapped the arrow keys to WASD using AutoHotKey.

EA was looking for guys a couple month back. That was apparently for a mobile game, so this would be consistent.

Are you getting tired of movie reboots/remakes?
TaxOwlbear replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Speaking of which: The 1999 The Mummy can also be considered a remake/reboot of the 1930s Boris Karloff film with the premise being the same. -

TaxOwlbear replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
No, not really. I mind them if they are bad, but I mind bad films in general, remake or not. As for successful remakes: Filmmakers ran out of ideas about 80 years ago, and remakes have been made ever since. The 1939 classic Wizard of Oz, for example, is a remake. So are a lot of other films, like Scarface, A Fistful Dollar, The Glorious Seven... but I've never seen anyone complain about that. -
As a C&C game, C&C4 is a disaster. As a game in general, it's not the worst out there, but it's not great. The story is disappointing. All units have too much health and/or deal too little damage. Destroying anything takes half an hour, and rebuilding a unit takes five seconds. The rock-paper-scissors system is a mess. There are too many units, and the majority are just better versions of other units instead of having unique features and applications. All mission are the same: 1) Build an initial force, half of which are engineers. 2) Take over as many husks as possible to go over your pop cap, essentially derailing the game's limits. 3) Slooooooowly make your way to whatever Important Landmark you are supposed to make your way to.
-
No, you just have to destroy all Nod forces. Maybe your are supposed to build at least one Orca? C&C1 usually doesn't have requirements like that, though.

Did you check your radar for turrets behind trees, lost minigunners and harvesters stranded on Tiberium fields etc.?

If you have a bunch of images on a page you want to save, just save the page and they are in a folder a second later. Way more convenient than screenshots or using a downloader.
