  1. And the two nukes used against japan actually caused less death and destruction than the fire bombings (that's with napalm, for those of you who arent into pyrotechnics. Not that any of you arent  ) on German cities and especially Japanese cities. Their paper buildings hardly needed napalm to set them off., and the cities were so crowded.

BTW, and invasion of Japan would have cost an estimated 3million casualties+ for both sides combined. Compare to 80,000 deaths from a WWII vintage A-Bomb.

  2. The Americans dont go around gasing and killing their own people. The nukes are for killing the big countries after they nuke others. Iraq had Scuds and chemical weapons. Its not that had to put the two together, then you have long range bio-weapons. Then every one (well, maybe not France  ) would have gone to war with Iraq. Too many people focus on the wrong subject here. What about North Korea threatening to use their nuclear weapons if anyone gets in their way? What about India and Pakistans hatred for each other, and the threats of unholy genicide btween the two?

Back to topic, I think any suicide unit is annoying when being used against you. Terror drones and squids are especially annoying, because you have to kill your own units to get rid of them. Also, the Nod artillery in FS are sooo annoying, because they were really good in TS, and then after technological improvements, they suck.

  3. I didnt say apoc rush, I said use apocs in a Soviet defense. A lot. Apoc rush with rinos, flak traks, drones, troops, choppers (lots) and Kirovs.

Plus a nuke and an Iron curtain (if available)

Overall, Allies have pretty good attack forces, weak on armor, decent dfense. Decent economy.

Soviets have powerful attack force, excelent armor, excelent defense (battle bunkers get the guys inside ranked, and telsa troop-powered coils are almost unbeatable. They're stronger and hav a higher rate of fire.) Soviets have decent economy.

Yuri has poor attack forces, (excelent at harassment), excellent defense, and a very good economy. Until a sniper shows up and gets elite status on killing your slaves. Or a mirage tank. Or a chrono dude, or Tanya, or aircraft, or Boris, or desolator, or.....(on and on)

    Allies have pretty good navy.

    Soviets have better navy.

Yuri has best navy until aircraft show up.

  4. 1. How often does a Yuri player have time to send his capture units to a grinder durring the middle of an assault without losing his pychics?

    2. deployed seige choppers will waste the masterminds. So will undeployed ones for that mater.

    3. A magnet tron will bring the Apoc closer, then boom! goes the magnetron.

    4. Terror drones are fast cheap, and a pain the rear end if you are going against them. Unless you have lots of prisms.

  5. For the next "Bond" movie, he should get shot by some regular soldier or guard. The he should die. The End.

    That would be awesome.

The whole story is completely ridiculous and unrealistic, but that's part of the fun of it. You aren't supposed to do that much thinking while watching a Bond movie. They're just entertaining!

Its gets kinda old though. (dont tell me if I dont like 'em, dont watch 'em.) Someone says a new JB movie, and I say, yeah, he goes in, gets captured, makes a darring escape, then they throw some lady in bed with him, The End.

    Boring.

  6. Have you ever tried to attack a properly fortified Soviet Base? Artillery fire doesnt work, they have the only non-rocket artillery, flak just downs the rest, including all the aircraft. No vehicle on the ground can go one on one with an Apoc, escept a mastermind, and they can only hold so much. Apocs also serve as good anti-air untis. And teslas that are being charged can own any number of attacking units with a few battle bunkers for close support, and some dogs to rush viruses with. And 2 typhoons can take a boomer, if narowly. And no infantry can beat desolators, except snipes, but that whats dogs are for. And with seige choppers deployed in and around the base, no ground unit lasts long, even without Apocs taking them apart. As for assaulting, boomers are better then dreadnoughts, but Yuri has no way to defend them from arial attacks. And there is virtually no way to stop an Apoc rush unless you have hordes of harriers and blackeagles to bomb them. Grand cannons only do so much, and the prism towers slow rate of fire means 1-2 shots before they get wiped. Add the Soviet industrial plant in for cheaper units built faster, The Soviets can be the hardest to beat. However, this takes great money magement, and many people I have played arent too good at managing their money. And remember, a spy cant walk through walls, tanks, or water.

  7. If you follow his storyline hes like, 60 years old. And nobody is that good. Not nobody not nohow. Even if its just a movie.

 Maybe he could train an apprentice, or see the rise of someonelse, superspy. By the way, what he does is more like oneman specops missions where the lone opperative gets $1,000,000,000,000 worth of equipment. And he happens to be a ladies man.

  8. That game looks like the Empire at war against the Rebellion. It looks good, and the team has quality, it may be a good game, I'll give it a look when it comes out. Better than Battleground it will surely be.

Now these people are messing up the SW storyline. The Rebbelion does exist at this time, but their military power is insuficient to challenge the Empire anywhere in the galaxy.

  9. For the next "Bond" movie, he should get shot by some regular soldier or guard. The he should die. The End.

Back to maps, there is a RA map available (I think from raafraid.org) that is called "The Hills Have Eyes" In the middle of the map there is an extensive civilian village that is "heavily fortified" and the civilians have a few, shall we say, "priveledged" among them. They are also red on the radar, so dont be red. (darn)

  10. Just wondering but how the hell did we go from the topic title at hand to best game of the year? :?

Sorry. I asked the latest in a string of off-topic questions.

Grand Theft Auto is not really a racing game. More of a first person shooter where the main focus is stealing and using vehicles.

And I still dont like Halflife. (but hey, thats just me)

  11. Well you could include another map if you want to if there is one you like better, or think is easier to keep in topic. My favourite maps would be dense urban sprawl, where you can use infantry to garrison buildings like mad. I mean dense: Built a couple of maps that was mostly roads with buildings side by side.

Be tough for tank rushes. That can be a good thing. Sometimes. Also slows down flyin' stuff 'cause its gota go over the buildings, and if it follows the road, it can say hello to all the IFVs, Guardian GIs, Flack stuff, and Apocs, or whatever is the days special.

  12. you might also look into obtaining any missing C&C titles from your collection. Also there are tones of pinball games out there, quite a few are good, quite a few are free.

Halflife?? The Halflife that I've seen in a piece of crap. Is there more than one game under the name Halflife?

Also, does anybody know of excelent (or at least good) flying (like combat) and racing (like street) games that are available for PC?
