It's starting to sink in that not only is the game scrapped, but jobs were lost and that the holidays are not too far off. That's gotta be really rough and I hope the workers find work at a company that treats their employees better. Under EA, I hope it is. They've proven they're incomponent.

Great article, though I still think the ascent of mobile platform popularity is the main reason for the decline in sales. Most of my non-techie or PC gamer friends would rather have a smartphone that is powerful and nice or a good laptop or tablet. There's no incentive for a PC, which is the biggest factor. But the platform plateu I didn't really consider as an X factor as much until now.

From an article I read (can't find it now), the downside to the service is that the encryption is tied to the password you first sign up with. You cannot change your password at this point. So that means once someone gains access to your account, well, all your data is exposed. So keep the password to yourself and I wouldn't trust public terminals (which sort of defeats the point of a cloud service IMO). You also better remember the password you give yourself, there's no "Forgot my password" tool because of this limitation.. Passwords easily cracked in some instances too, yikes.

There's also some examples that don't. League of Legends and Team Fortress 2 being the biggest ones that come to mind right now. This really depends how EA wants to approach this and nurture this. Going off past EA business decisions, I am not holding my breath, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

A co-worker of mine showed me this, it's pathetic. Absolutely the same in almost every manner. EA has a victory easily. This also reminded me of something that caught my attention on Reddit the other day. Basically, a small studio creates a game and it gets knocked off completely by a Chinese team. They then put it on a Chinese gaming service and it gets rated pretty highly and sells well. Except, unlike in this case where EA can just sue the ba-jeebus out of these guys, this gets a little rougher and harder to rectify. The link to the Chinese game on the Chinese network is broken now though so maybe the network did pull it. Pretty interesting to read about. A formal article is here.

Yea, I read that article a few days ago as well.. However, just because EA is willing to sell at $20 a share doesn't mean someone will buy it. It's all still very unknown at this point. Though if they do sell I'd be very curious as to who would buy them.

I've listened to quite a bit of chinese folk, chinese punk rock (<3), and acoustic chinese. Of course I don't understand it. Are you a native speaking? I have a friend that's been studying for 2 years or so. Chinese music is still almost completely foreign to him.
