Voodoo Extreme Poll - Most Anticipated 2012 Games
F15pilotX replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Solid lineup again this year..I'm looking forward to SSX, was playing the original on my Xbox last week. Guild Wars 2 should also be fun, but Gens 2 got my vote.- 9 replies

Rented this game from Redbox...I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but I think I might have to get this. I think I ended up returning it 4 days late, and the amount of content I saw just in that time is staggering.
-
So for those who have it right now: is it worth getting this minute, or should I wait for a price drop?

Command & Conquer Generals 2 is the Next C&C Game
F15pilotX replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Personally I think some kind of American-Asian alliance would be interesting to say the least...even if that's completely off the wall! What do y'all think about the tidbit from IGN's interview about it being PC only?- 77 replies

Command & Conquer Generals 2 is the Next C&C Game
F15pilotX replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Now THIS is what I was hoping for. Ironically, the "non-C&C" games are the only ones of the franchise I still play aside from RenX...can't wait to see what they do with this. Bout time for a new engine, too. The whole no-modding thing sucks though.- 77 replies

It's been too long.

Depends who you talk to. A lot of them will get together in cooperative groups, so it really is just like going to a smaller school. The kids I know that were homeschooled were usually some of the more popular people wherever they went.
-
Granted, our education system really is a sham. Homeschooled kids are generally far, far better educated than public schoolkids, and if the government would give tax credits for it like they should, it'd be more cost-effective than what we have now.
-
lol I know, hence the small text. They ought to include hardened bunkers in the next C&C game + the rods of god as a hard counter imo
-
Just found this on Pop Sci's website - my first thought when I saw the picture was "lol, I've seen that before." http://www.popsci.com/scitech/article/2004-06/rods-god Yes I know, the ion cannon doesn't exactly fire rods.
-
That's odd..mine never goes above 250k unless I open 10 different flash videos or something crazy like that. Used to have the memory leak issue but it just doesn't now o_O
-
Eh, I hope they do Generals universe rather than the other two; after so many games the others have gotten repetitive.
-
Right now some Zero Hour...trying to play C&C 3 online, but EA has possibly the most convoluted account system of all time, and their tech support is nonexistant :/
-
I wouldn't mind another Generals-style game if they did it right. Some kind of customizable upgrade system (a la GLA except you choose the upgrades) would be fantastic. Another cool feature would be a more interactive (and choice-based) campaign map, possibly adapting features from BFME 2's War of the Ring, or the Total War series. League of Legends has done a good job with their Summoner Spell/Rune system, and parts of that might be possibly to incorporate too. Regardless of the RTS they make, I'm still waiting for an FPS / C&C Mode game; I'd enjoy that more than any number of RTS's.
-
Haha, how awesome would that be to fire what's basically a nuke-RPG? They need to put that in BF3/MW3 as a bonus or something.

The Mk-54 had a 10-20 Ton yield. The Mk-54 SADM could be anywhere from 10 T to 1 Kiloton. A later varient of the same [W54] design, the W-54, had a 250 ton yield, and the W-72 (even later) was 600 tons. Other low yield nukes: W-51, 22 Tons W-48, 78 Tons W-75, 100+ Tons
-
Le fixed right as you were posting. I did the calculations, and it looks like this weapon (assuming a 6.1m long, .6m diameter tungsten pole; speed of Mach 10) would have a yield of about 46 tons of TNT - about the same as a low-yield tactical nuke. Not too shabby.

Firefox. Chrome has all the addons, but I've used FF forever and like it - no reason to change. IE always seems to find a way to give me a problem; I use it once, and that's it.

When you say portability, are you talking about a truly small laptop like a 13", or more focus towards battery life? To be honest, 15.6" is going to be the best size if you want to play some games as well, without costing you an arm and a leg. Tbh I'd go with the Asus N53J from Newegg that DD linked you to though. I'm currently looking to replace mine, and that's been in my top two for weeks now. The fact that it has nVidia Optimus is definitely a plus to your need for mobility, as well.

Download link is wrong; here's the correct one: http://www.renegade-x.com/site/index.php?o...0&Itemid=64 Can't wait!

^ what he said. I have an 18.4" ASUS, and IT gets hot sometimes..with half the specs of the one you're looking at, and 3" more space to spread it out. But what's been said about ASUS is true. I haven't once had to take it to the shop or open it up since I got it 2 years ago.

Digging with a shovel? 3 years jail time. -
^ heh, agreed with both of you. Just trying to get all my Renegade stuff to work with TFD was a pain, and I never bothered with modding or the rest of the 11 games. I'd be cool with a Generals 2, but a new IP would be ideal I think. And because it hasn't been said enough in here: Renegade 2 or its equivalent needs to be made by some department of EA. Just too good of a game not to have a sequel =/

Quick Question: from what I can gather, it seems the new AMD Six-Core processors are awesomely cheap for the money, but if you want to do serious gaming, fall far short of the i7's. True/False/What's the deal on AMD vs Intel nowadays aside from Intel is more powerful & AMD is cheaper?

Ahh, I remember that fanfic. Thanks for uploading it again Sonic
