I understand scientists have been working on it for a long time, I study genetics. But you cant just make a y chromosome from nothing. Test tube babies are not artificial. The eggs are fertilized outside of the mother in controlled conditions in a lab by the sperm of the father. If we had the technology to just add the required information we would have been able to eliminate many genetic diseases.

An easier solution would to have the cockpit door locked and only unlocked from the inside while in flight with a camera mounted on the cabin side of the door. That way if there are terrorists on board the pilots simply don't open the door.
