    the zero hour cd is brand new i got it today all back ground programs were off. i have a partition on my hard drive with my generals directory on a diffrent partition to the partition with windows on also i started the instalation on my old pc and i got past the section that i could get to on my main computer so its not the disk, but i have never had a problem like this before with any of my games

     

    Well, it could be that the installer itself is getting hungup because the installers resident files on your comp are on the different partition to the Generals files?

     

    Just wondering........otherwise I'm nearly all out of options =/

    I've always enjoyed the Christmas period. Good food and drink (if your into that part).

     

    I don't enjoy the money side of it though. Christmas has become an over commercializes crap holiday. I remember last year seeing on the news reports of records amount of spending, people spend way to much at that time of year I think.

    I know I won't be spending lots this year.

     

    luk3us, you were one of these little kids once, I bet you bugged your parents to buy you all the crap under the sun at Christmas....I know I did :lol:

     

    I used to get up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning, now you can't even bribe me to get up.

    But Gpstore hax my bank accounts and take my money in exchange for their games :o

     

    But yer, I actually enjoy the little kiddies running around the place, reminds me of when I was that age......... good times :)

    I have an AMD 2400+ XP, with an Asus A7N8X D'lux mobo, never any probs. I aslo have 512mb Kingston DDR RAM, gf4 ti4200 128mb, 20gig Maxator 20gb HDD, Win Xp Pro.

     

    Im currently saving up for a new psu (im on 200~240 at the moment, but adding new stuff to my pc soon.) - a 480watt ThermalTake PSU :D

    ALso getting another stick of 512mb, and another cold cathode or two + a 40gb HDD. (All nicely in a Lian Li case ;))

     

    But yer, enough of me hijacking the thread. GJ on getting it working again :)

     

    Did you get a refund on what you paid?

    Thats a good point, it would reduce the amount of noise.

     

    My new case, with the extra case fans is rather quiet, I expected it to be louder actually.

    The noise of the spinning fans doesn't bother me, its when they start to get old and make rattling sounds.....such as the fan in my old case's PSU.

     

    Good job getting a new PSU & case then. Sounds as if it was on the brink =/

    Its just as easy posting in the news comments as it is posting in the forums. The benifit of the news comments it that you can have your say directly on the news page (well a pop up page anyway).

     

    Perhaps one day the news comments can become part of the forums.

     

    If I do see somethng in there to discuss, I'd do it in here, or in the games forum, or perhaps with ya on ICQ.

     

    It's a cool feature, you just need to give people time to adjust :) , and get using it

    The liquid cooling idea seems a bit extreme to me.

     

    BTW, update on the problem with non-functioning LEDs on my new case. The supplier is sending me a new front panel and replacement.

    Ouch! I have Unreal 2 and i played it for a long time, finished it on medium skill. Before i bought it i was aware of the problems that it would cause. Oh boy does it require everything latest. Hmm i checked your errors and your specs.

     

    It's kinda hard because i only found that you have 128mb which is quite low and the unreal 2 won't hack it i think it says that in the requirements. I have 512mb and it still lags like hell when i play single player. It's a huge game you wouldn't believe it.

     

    Tip: on the back of the disc it should have system requirements. Just make sure that you have all of them installed because if you do then i don't know what the problem was. Besides, noone probably has this game except for me and some members maybe. 8)

     

    I'd forgotten aobut this thread :)

     

    I've actually fixed the problem, thanks to the solution Shocker gave me...... cheers Shocker!

     

    128mb is my graphics card. I have 512mb of normal RAM.

    My CPU runs at about 32 degrees at full tilt, I'm playing EnB right now and this is as hot as it gets :)

     

    Lol.........Im thinking aobut liquid cooling, but too scared incase it leaks over my stuff. even with distilled water.

    22.5 Celsius? That's not an AMD then :)

    For the record thats not my CPU temp :wink:. My AMD chip is idling around 36 degress celsius.

     

    On the subject of CPU temperatures, how hot should an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ get?

     

    Any idea as to what parts you will be upgrading to?

    I haven't decided yet. I'm waiting until after the Christmas break, I'll see what is available then.

     

    All I have to do now is find out why the power LED and HDD LED don't seem to work on my new case. I've checked all the connections to the motherboard and they are plugged in correctly according to the MB manual. I suspect the actual LEDs are faulty.
