That is tribalism.

Oh noes, SC2 owes everything to C&C. I find this topic very ridiculous. Also, Sonic, beware of tribalism.

CNCNZ.com Roundtable Discussion #29: July 2010
recover replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Please. No more tiberium. It can't be fixed. I think the best direction would be an entirely new universe. I would like to see Kane again, but every time I see him nowadays I get let down. -
I tried the freezer tip on a hdd that broke not too long ago. Sadly it didn't work very well for me. The hdd made a weird noise when it tried to spin up, and it kept doing that after the freezer. I wish hdd's could tell you when they are about to fail with 99% certainty. Or at least a cheap and easy way to read back the data on the platters if the drive does fail in the end. Meh.

On blizzard's digital store it costs 60€, which is about 568 SEK. But I read in a newspaper that a store in my region has it on sale for 330 SEK which is the boxed edition. Although I would prefer it without the box, it's not a difficult choice. Look out for similar stuff in your countries!

C&C 4 Still Holding Strong in the Sales Charts

Maybe the list is upside down. -
C&C 4 Still Holding Strong in the Sales Charts
recover replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Do anyone play the game online anymore? Or do people just buy it for the singleplayer part? I haven't played for months. -
I find those pictures interesting. The triggers are especially useful to see so you know where you can sneak up on the computer. But dissecting and demystifying these things to the lowest building blocks can also take away some of the fun. Anyway, I was thinking about something. I recall you saying that you didn't want to implement higher resolutions since the game would crash on certain small maps. Isn't it possible to edit these maps and "simply" putting immovable terrain on the edges of the maps, thus preventing the crash? They did something similar for Fallout 1/2 when someone made a high resolution patch. The community enlarged the maps and added buildings and art on the new space. You still couldn't get to the new stuff, it was simply decorating the edges.

Why can't EA just hand you the source code?

Command & Conquer freezes near end of msn 6
recover replied to Agent Khuul's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
Hi Agent Khuul. Welcome to CNCNZ. I would recommend you to use the unofficial TFD patch which is available at cnp.cncnz.com. I believe it fixes several different crashes in the original C&C, as well as allowing you to play with a higher resolution. If that don't work, I don't know what will. Enjoy replaying the C&C games. -
What is the legal status of Counterstrike and Aftermath?
recover replied to Roadkill's topic in Red Alert / Counterstrike / Aftermath
I just realized that this subforum has a typo. It is named "Red Alert / Countersike / Aftermath". -
I just looked at the news article, and yeah, she is pretty. What a shame.
-
Actually, I don't think it would be that bad to have a girlfriend who is into porn. Why am I even writing this?

What is the legal status of Counterstrike and Aftermath?
recover replied to Roadkill's topic in Red Alert / Counterstrike / Aftermath
Strictly speaking, I don't think that OK from EA is legally binding or have undergone much consideration by EA management. I would assume that it was Apoc who gave the ok. But really, I don't think they care either. -

I doubt it. Maybe a gray zone at best. But is that really going to stop you? -
I wonder what she was watching...
-
I just find it funny that they need the community to voice up to realize how dumb this decision was. Employees should have reacted. The reason why this wasn't stopped internally may be related to this talk titled "Smile or Die":

It's a scar that we have gotten used to. Don't tear it open again.

Good article.

This is pretty ****ed up right here. I wonder who makes these decisions since they clearly do not understand how the internet works.

Actually, in the nod campaign in TibDawn, Kane claims he named Tiberium after Tiberius Julius Caesar. Video here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2197717207618713391 Seek to about 14:05.
