A Tough Day - Something All Pet Owners Must Face
Doctor Destiny replied to Sonic's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I know the feeling. You should have seen six year old me when I came home to my cat screeching and wailing in pain because she got hit by a car. Still makes me teary eyed to this day. That damn cat loved me. Like... seriously. Dammit. Now my feels are sad. -
I'll get it but not at full price. I don't want it that badly.

But... Battlezone 1998 was kinda bad...

Is this how PC gaming is like in the future?

The 360 was some wonky version of Windows 8 and the XB1 runs Windows 10 with a dyejob. -
Is this how PC gaming is like in the future?

PC gaming is dying? Since when? Never? Yes, you get to download games now. That's just the transition from physical to digital. I haven't gotten a physical copy of a new game in over a year now. Last physical game I got was Legacy of the Void and before that was Borderlands 2. Concerning raw power, I checked Doom's requirements and they're kinda high, but for any decent graphical fidelity, you need that. No, we can't keep requirements at a single core processor, 512MB RAM and 64MB VRAM forever, which zocom7 thinks we need to do. You could easily play Doom on medium with a fairly new $750 to $850 gaming PC. Pretty clear you don't need a $2500 monster (like mine at the time of purchase) to play the game. It's about damn time big budget titles quit catering to the potato crowd. We have the hardware, let's ****in' use it! There still exist plenty of great games that don't need a top dollar PC to run. And lol, no downloads on console. Not hardly. They're glorified mini-PCs. You still have to download patches, apply system updates, install games... all that wonderful jazz. The benefits of console gaming gets smaller and smaller with each generation. It's not cheaper, it's not easier, it's not very powerful... kinda sad really. -
Petroglyph's 8-Bit Armies / 8-Bit Hordes/ 8-Bit Invaders
Doctor Destiny replied to HOPE1134's topic in Gaming Discussion
I'm okay with DLC for this. It's only $15, which is a quarter of your average AAA title so even with DLC, it will come out cheaper in the end. -
Make your own games with C++ and SDL graphics library
Doctor Destiny replied to jeffnz's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Was more of a joke. I don't actually do any game development. At least in the case of coding for a game. I do more boring business-y things. -

I go against the grain. C# and DX for me. -
Petroglyph's 8-Bit Armies / 8-Bit Hordes/ 8-Bit Invaders

For $15, it's a bargain. Sure, it doesn't have layers of complexity and you don't need a $5000 PC to play on super mega ultra settings, but it is fun. It's very Command & Conquer. Easy to play, easy to run and quite fun. There are some flaws but since we're not talking major $60 AAA title, it's pretty damn good. If they revamped the controls and there were unit voices, this would be a pretty damn good game. Everyone complaining is trying to call this C&C when it's not. It is meant to be its own game and it has a charm that probably won't be matched for a good time to come. All in all, it's worth the meager asking price. It's Minecraft meets Army Men 3D in an RTS. That's all this is. Simple, accessible and friendly to anyone who gives it a shot. -

Run the Guru3D DDU and reinstall fresh. Might just be corrupted gpu driver files. -
Black Ops 1, Black Ops 3, RA3 Uprising.

A population cap. WHAT A CRIME. Seriously, anyone bitching about it is butthurt because they can't spam tanks like retards and actually have to think about the composition of their attack forces. What a shame about that. ****in' kids these days. -
Can't get map in cncnet
Doctor Destiny replied to Uberwire's topic in Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge Maps & Modding
.map files need to included and referenced via .pkt files so use .mpr or .yrm instead. You'll have better luck. -
I need an older version of SHP Builder (Not opensource)
Doctor Destiny replied to Uberwire's topic in Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge Maps & Modding
Probably only appears when a certain batch of red colors are used. Check the remapable colors from unittem and make sure those don't appear in the cameo anywhere. That's probably where those come from, but I can't say for sure since I use PSP7 for cameo work. -
Of course they did. They could have all along. They were trying to set a very dangerous precedent. Luckily they failed... this time. They'll be back to try again eventually.

I am okay with this.

What happened to Planetary Annihilation?
Doctor Destiny replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Gaming Discussion
Why did it die? Because it's boring garbage. -
Great idea. Let's follow in Britain's staggering, Orwellian footsteps. ****ing brilliant. In other words, no thanks. My system is imperfect but it's better than your draconian future.

Petroglyph's 8-Bit Armies / 8-Bit Hordes/ 8-Bit Invaders
Doctor Destiny replied to HOPE1134's topic in Gaming Discussion
The graphics are fine. You're looking at the aesthetics of the game, which, in all honesty, work really well. Bright, punchy colors, everything is silly and over the top and nothing is really out of place. A more simplistic, macro-based RTS will be a refreshing change from the overly complicated nature of the RTS genre as of late. Looks like it could be a blast to play. Been looking for a decent RTS... hopefully this will fill the gap. -
Tools recommended for Windows 7?
Doctor Destiny replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
Depends on what you mean by "tools." I'm sure there's plenty out there. -

Finally Deadpool Done Right in a Movie
Doctor Destiny replied to Sonic's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
And you probably got a stripped down version of it for that rating. Anyhow, I went and saw it and I thought it was awesome. Laughed all the way through the movie and it never felt boring. True to Deadpool's character too. Worth the price of admission. -
Clinton is a bat**** crazy third wave feminist. She's also illegally hosted classified emails on a private server. I don't want some crazy broad as president who says **** like "The primary victims of war are women." Hell no. I'm voting Libertarian. **** this bull****.
-
Trump and Clinton are like choosing from two big bowls of ****. Neither are good for the country. Hell, nobody in either "major" party are good for the US. Only one I can stand is Sanders.

Who is upgrading to Windows 10?
Doctor Destiny replied to Sonic's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
Not likely. Windows 10 is built off the 7 kernel so most things that run on 7 or 8, run on it. Hell, I've gotten Windows 8 drivers to work for devices on Windows 10. Would be highly unlikely you'd see anything actually negative.
