I guess with no harvesting they meant "No refineries next to Tiberium fields with harvesters harvesting the living sh*t out of said field". Gamestar already mentioned that you'll access Tiberium network hubs with a unit called "rig".

Like I already said at the off. forums, this could be sold as final cover and it would look more badass than what EA put on the shelves before. I like that they have their own format.

Jarzka is haunting me!

They could put some kind of AI in charge of Nod, but it would not be the same thing. GDI vs. Scrin could be interesting, if it would not have been done 5 million times before.

CNCNZ.com Roundtable #22 - Command & Conquer 4 Special Edition
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Depends on how restrictive it will be. I'm sure I never built more than 20 Mammoths in TW missions. On a somewhat unrelated note, I miss being invited to the roundtables I guess my views are a bit too tame -

Some unit designs look a bit questionable, and the SAG engine is obsolete. But apart from, that, I pretty much embrace all the changes EA made, IF the story, level design and mission design will be decent enough, the game relatively bug-free, satisfying in length and balanced. -
CNCNZ.com Roundtable #22 - Command & Conquer 4 Special Edition

Have to side with Sonic here. CnC never sounded so fresh, so exciting as what I read preliminarily from CnC4. The diversity of the classes, 80 units to play with, and an RPGesque tech tree all make for a streamlined, yet epic approach. Sometimes, less is more, the simplest games can be also the most addicting and achieve cult status. And that trailer? Bloody brilliant! I'm just curious about the map and mission design, as well as the story, if all that fails, every positive aspect could be moot. Go EALA! Blow us away! But to be more detailed: 1. I was suprised that EALA returned to the Tiberian universe that quickly, especially after all the rumours that have been floating around after RA3's release. I don't think that Generals 2 would have been a better or worse choice, but there are many who are content with he Tiberian universe's swift re-emerging, yet also some who would have preferred Gens 2 first. I lean more towards CnC4, kane's just more compelling than any other character. 2. See above. EALA simply took the MCV/mobile warfactory one step further and elevated it to new, extraordinarily unique heights. As stated above, I'm very happy with it. A 17 year old formula can entertain only so long. If they balance and implement it right, this could be the next killer app- After all, many games become classics by taking away-, not adding elements. Not to mention that I was rather growing tired with having to build bases for every match, and I had fun with erecting structures for quite a long time. As an RPG-fan I'm deeply content with the XP system, adds motivation to the game on a scale never seen before in CnC. And the different classes just scream teamplay and replay value! Sure, adding elements to the core would have been a suiting solution as well, but what could have been altered after RA3? To me, the classic CnC gameplay felt like a half-dead carcass connected to shiny, sophisticated life support. Sometimes, things have to change to keep us on our toes, nostalgia or not. 3. I'm fine with it, but I'm sure some will be limited by this measure. I cross my fingers for offline profiles, I don't want to see lost sales out of fear of DRM. 4. Why would it? The Scrin played virtually identical to GDI and Nod, and only some units could impress me with their sound/art design. I'm rather happy that they bring back the series' to its GDI vs. Nod roots, including more serious FMVs. I won't mind them returning in an expansion pack, but let's face it, the Tiberian saga is all about our one leader, our messiah, KANE! 5. Frank already expressed his interest in scoring CnC4, but to be frank (Clever pun hee hee), he just has not been the same, or rather, he was, since most of the "new" tracks he made for UaW and RA3/Uprising sounded antiquated, whereas Hannigan's and Wynn's contribution was varied and professional. Of course, if he'd add some TD remixes, I'd be the last to critisize. As for Hannigan and Wynn, they just have to learn making longer tracks, and we're all set. 6. I don't really give a flying dookie about the UI placement, it just should be intuitive and responsive. I'd love a drag n drop UI though, to keep everyone satisfied . The design itself is very sexy, by the way. -
Please send that as e-mail to Apoc

Jeremy Feasel Discusses C&C4 Population Cap
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
For me, it's the other way around- I hate having to build new farms/supply depots/houses etc. to be able to build new units, but I have nothing against finite caps, where you simply cannot train more than xy unit(s). -

Why is that a surprise? We knew that all along. But 2Poc said it's all going to make more sense in the following weeks. -

Yes. CommanderT says it's not very restrictive and'll make sense as soon as the first gameplay vids emerge. I guess it had to be done for technical reasons- 10 players spamming Scorpion tanks would surely turn the match into a slideshow quickly Many RTS I love(d) have/had popcap, so this mustn't be as terrible as it sounds. -

Jeremy Feasel already commented on the respawn time- 20 seconds. And there's pop cap. D14810: I like the idea, makes for diverse and professional music. -
Looks a bit DoW-inspired, imho, except the great helm. I love it, but they should redesign the tank.

Well, what did they say about the FMVs?

The First Command & Conquer 4 Trailer Arrives
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
That's because it's the prologue. It shows the state of the world before Kane and GDI form the Tiberium Control Network. It's that way to add some connection to CnC3, and that's a very good thing. Oh, and terrific teaser. I just hope there will be more scenes like this in the final game. You know how it was with RA3...great intros, meh rest. -
The First Command & Conquer 4 Trailer Arrives

Because they might improve their Sonic tech to suit these extreme needs. Plus, Cypher said that it's not about Tiberium after all. I think he just set Tiberium up to call the Scrin and be able to leave his earthly prison. Adam Isgreen said that this was one vague plot point that EA followed. -
Nod Crawler deployed and Nod Bikes pictures!

Silver: No it has two sidetanks. Btw, anyone still saying that graphics are worse than in CC3 should get glasses. The ground textures and props look gorgeous! -
It's not a plot hole, myah. LEGION took over the last Scrin tower and shut it down for admittance.

To be fair, the flame tank always looked a bit bulbous and silly.
