  1. Hi, Some changes to acknowledge: Packs The mission packs are now reorganized to contain 40 missions each. Previously, it was 20 each. Don't worry, no code reassigned; Cloud ServiceI was using Sugarsync(Singapore) to collect and enable missions over the Internet, but the free time is finishing now in February. Taking Sonic's advice, I moved the collection to MEDIAFIRE. So now, it is based in CloudMe(Europe) and Mediafire(US). Those who have Mediafire can use their program to follow the project; ListingsAll missions are being listed, so you can be aware of everything I have, released or not, along with the inventory survey, published some weeks ago.

    Isn't it something related to the FOLDER where you install XCC? I mean, have you changed the STD place or not? Also, in the last 12 months, MALWAREBYTES has upgraded, maybe they have done something new: the previous versions used to not see anything and now they are seeing?

    What TV shows are you watching?

    Hi Zocom7, I watched last weeks the first 3 episodes and I'm enjoying it so far. I would call it a clean-minimalist-less dark Blade Runner. It makes me remember "I, Robot" and "Minority Report" too. The overall design is really cool, also the sci-fi elements within the plot(s). They have some cool stuff to develop in their hands, I hope they don't ruin it.

    Is the RTS genre really dying?

    I agree with Jehal about the time consuming issue of an RTS. My initial bet would be making a cross-genre game. You start playing it as a RTT. Say like you first specialize in squadron game-play style. Instead of joining a campaign, you play small missions with the same combat squadron. Then you have 2 options: move to another type of squadron and receive new missions or move to another level of squadron management with more different units to deal with. So, this would be 2 directions for the player, but I'm not sure how appealing that could be. This format would be targeted to new RTS players (players not familiar to the genre) and would keep up (theoretically) with the regular RTS players. By the time your learning curve evolves it is already an RTS. And if you're not into the strategy element you can keep playing it as a video-game in the squadron level. The other important thing I think the RTS game should be able to provide is to be accessible or open-minded in terms of map making and modding. The player should be free to expand the sub-universes of the game. This activity could be seen by the studio as a way to generate a secondary market of the game. Instead of launching an expansion, be the dealer of the fan made games. The studio stays focused in patches and quality control and let the fans trade about the creativity of the established universe, by making maps, units and backstories. This is not a conviction, I went on improvising on the ideas.

    btw, is there a good e-mail service just as efficient for basic things like gmail, hotmail and etc? By basic I mean just as username in forums and etc and getting some messages eventually. It's time for a change, I'm already preferring Vimeo, next move is the e-mail and after I'll stop with FB too.

Answering this thread I've found this pending: SCG271 - Bridge over Kwai River* is fixed but not tested, but it will work. - Nod, special and neutral are allies now; - 2 triggers with "allow win" taken out, just destroying Nod is enough to achieve the briefing. - Neutral and Special changed to another colorscheme I fixed as requested, but the mission is not creative. It lacks good triggers and there are no teamtypes.
  15. Hmm, I'm looking for FAN MADE single player missions. Sometimes they were available on non-official CDs, sometimes on a personal CD, which a person would store with the original game and etc.
  16. Also, given that you're gonna look for these things and open old boxes and such, check if you find any old CDs with Tiberian Dawn files. Sometimes the stuff is altogether. If it's that the case, bring it here too, to this thread. Thx.

    You can state which devices will be allowed to connect to your wi-fi by registering those MAC addresses in a similar screen. The devices not listed will not connect, theoretically.

    2 issues to see if it is viable: - how can we set an AI structure (in map making) to be the primary builder (barracks essentially). If I put 2 or 3 barracks far away from each other and set a teamtype to be created, they will rally to one of them, then they will go out to perform the attack. I'd like them to be built in only one place. Maybe one of those dead parameters works for this?! ... - can you set in the MAIN missions menu, if I want to start on EB map of a campaign can I click with LMB + F2, for example? Or LMB+F3 for EC, LMB+F4 for ED, etc Could also be LMB + "EB", etc. or something like that..

    I don't see PW offending him, maybe rude but not bad mannered. It's a corporation, when you work in such place you have access to many privileges, at least information. When things comes down, you get criticized along with the rest. And if you're in a public position, you gotta have in mind that you'll get criticized even if you don't loose the job or the project doesn't fail. If I would have a game studio today I would be willing to interview this guy, because now he has something important, experience. So, it's really part of the job and not the end of the world.

    Sometimes I think, RTS will have to be done thru things like Kickstarter. You have to clear of some risks and annoy big companies to the point of making them wanting your game. Otherwise they will take this episode as the standard procedure: they get a studio and keep promising things for 2 years, and then, they dismiss everybody next morning.

    Crash research

    Hi Nyerguds, I'm back to ... creating trouble business: I got CTD and here is the message: Instruction at 00498f6b, referenced memory at 0000004b. Ironically, it's the same that HeavyLobster got 1year ago. I'm creating this cool set of triggers - when you civ.evac with a Chinook, it activates a reinforce trigger to bring the next Chinook for the next civ. evac. Sadly, you can see the outcome in the picture. Specs Before the crashes I was testing the reinforcements using TIME trigger, every 15, and the Chinooks were coming in but not being able to land, there was a Chin there. So it seems all the Chins decided to come back in the next trials under a new trigger ... ehehhehheeh I've seen a similar case happening when you set your money to 1 million, and you start the game, it starts counting the money, then you quit the game, when you come back right after, the engine is crazy still counting money from the previous session. I didn't do it for fun, I was testing missions and the lunatics authors set it to a million... I'm gonna make a copy of this WIP mission here, in case you wanna make some tests.
