  1. Don't underestimate the GLA based on simple visual observations, or anyone else for that matter. There's always a lot going on in the background... probably. The GLA could easily have decoy general-looking people for all we know and keep it's leaders dressed as simple rebels.
  2. A topic/post found in the wrong section falls into the moderator domain and such forum staff will handle it when required. Although I don't quite fully understand what you're trying to point out (exactly) other than things we already know - not allowing users to delete their own posts has it's advantages, such as eliminating the option of thread deletion by the thread starter and the prevention of confusive thread evolution (if somebody deletes his own posts within an ongoing forum discussion and creates a leap of logic or lack of continuity within that thread). This forum change is a positive one and could very well keep everything cleaner around here (and easier to manage), so leave it at that.
  3. You place your finger on the trigger only in situations where you need to be ready to actually shoot. People who don't place their trigger finger to the side of the weapon (trigger guard) and don't practice that sort of thing are more likely to fire off a shot simply by being nervous, gripping the handle in a hurry and shooting the floor or their own leg for that matter. Your body doesn't learn not to squeeze your trigger finger with the rest of your hand when you grab a pistol/rifle/whatever if you don't practice never putting your trigger finger on the trigger. I've see some "accidental shots" happen because people don't have the motor skill memory in their hand which I've just described. But this is all off-topic. And yes, the APA guy is pulling the slide back while making a rookie mistake... that's a no-no.
  4. The APA guy is either trigger happy or doesn't give a **** about gun-safety, which is evident from the position of his trigger finger, unlike his infantry specialized counterpart from the EU (I guess). And cut the GLA girl some slack, she's got a bag full of explosives so don't bad mouth her heheh... That being said, she looks more like a "hero unit" that a general, but the GLA doesn't strictly have to have commanders with the general title, so she could easily be a field commander/operative that people have accepted as a leader. Add some "oh no I've been angry at the world since my parents were killed at a young age and I've been training since blablabla" classic leader uprising in harsh conditions story clichés and she's up to the task as a leader in no time.

    Star Trek: Into Darkness

Come on, give the movie a chance. I value all of the ST series' and have a personal DVD collection that fills a whole closet shelf and I still enjoyed the last movie. Can't wait to see what they put into this one.
  6. Worst case scenario: Always-online singleplayers, overpriced games... Best case scenario: Cool SP stories (Bioware), Battlefront 3 (this is where DICE could come in since they have experience with Battlefield ofcourse)... But thats off the top of my head, I'll reserve my judgement for later. I just hope they make me a damn Battlefront 3 (as a smashing success at that) after all these years.

    Real Chinese C&C Legos?

The thing that puzzles me most is why do certain Allied units have Soviet markings and vice versa with soviet units with allied colors? Then again... Kazi "designers" most likely don't give a ****, they're in it for some fast cash anyway. Also a fun fact, Kazi military sets, whatever theme they are, always tend to have most bricks in that dark green color.

    Real Chinese C&C Legos?

I'll try to get my hands on a set or two if I ever see them in random shops around here (Kazi sets have a nack for popping up over here)... heck, I could actually use those Allied and Soviet logo stickers for numerous LEGO builds.

    Now Playing - Games

Find ALL the bottles! Beat ALL the levels on time attack! So much memories. EDIT: The Sly Cooper games were also bundled and relaunched optimized for the PS3, I think.

    Real Chinese C&C Legos?

The company that made those brands itself as Kazi Blocks, ripp-off style indeed. The "LEGO" bricks they make are crappy versions, and yes I have a few older army style Kazi sets at home just for the heck of it (just to stock up on cheap greenish colors). Though the actual Kazi bricks are of ok quality and interlock well with the original LEGO bricks, unlike most knock offs. It's worth noting that instead of a 15 dollar original LEGO set, a person could get about 3 or 4 Kazi sets of the same box size with a somewhat larger piece count. Their minifigures are crap compared to LEGO's figs though (quality wise).

    Another sad day in America

I don't know. It's a common tactic to get the public scared and emotional so you can use that to push forward some hidden agendas. 9/11 was one of those IMO... (but lets not get into that) Also, if a country goes to war or anything like that, you can't destabilize the ruling power so easily because everyone is sopposed to be focused on more "pressing" matters. So when something like this happens, or like in Croatia when idiotic things hit the news to fill up a program, it just diverts the eyes of many to other things. It's never black & white though. It could be any number of things going on behind our backs around the globe, the usual way of things ofcourse. It's in the ruling power's interest to have an enemy, even if it's a fictional one.

    Another sad day in America

It'd be "real funny" if the next thing that happens is that they pin new "terrorist" attacks on some country or group and go take their oil in the name of democracy and "spreading freedom"... I think the world has seen enough false flag operations and killing already. Just a day ago, I attended a regular interactive lecture at college about how the US as a large superpower doesn't tolerate different mindsets (in regards to other countries and whatnot) and thus strive to americanize everything through force to secure their dominance. You have the western "way of life" and it's "sacred". So... kill everything to preserve it because milk and cookies. Meh, nevermind. Also interesting:

A future Half-Life or Portal movie in the works?

Both Chell and Freeman of the Portal and Half-Life series' respectively are characters that don't speak for "various reasons". Hmm...

    Another sad day in America

Ofcourse, It could have just as easily happened to get the eyes of the public off of something more important or to manipulate people in some manner... too much speculation going on. Doesn't matter anyway, people got hurt.

    My comics are getting through...

So let me get this straight: Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away, a Starfleet pirate captain is sent on a galactic Federation 'coffe run' to Dune where he meets Boba Fett and Darth Vader? Brilliant. Who ever controls the spi... coffe, controls the galaxy.

    Cartoon and Conquer #52

Fun fact: I'm actually a student of Philosophy at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities in Zagreb and this comic is exactly how all that stuff can mess up your daily rutine.

Xbox 720 to have persistent Internet connection?

I would also just like to add an example. I can reinstall and play both singleplayer and multiplayer (LAN) modes with older games and nothing can stop me other than a massive hardware/software technological leap forward with WinXP and Win7 becoming extinct, and even then, people would find ways to play the oldies. Though if I were to have a legit copy of Mass Effect 3 or some other newer game for example which requires a constant connection to, say, EA servers... what if EA shuts down and their servers get scrapped? Companies don't last forever, and by dying out they coldly show gamers the middle finger of ever replaying the games they bought (unless they generouslly put a backup standalone system in place). Games that can be played right out of the box without any outside "help" along with games that have LAN or simillar functions (for standalone multiplayer) don't have that type of fear embeded into them. The more a game functions by itself on a machine, the longer it's lifespan to put it in simplistic terms. Company servers that provide singleplayer or multiplayer game modes get shut down - and it's lights out for that section of gaming. The internet goes down? Oh, sorry, you can't play alone because you have no internet connection. Oops... you can never replay that game again because it was an online service and you need us to last forever to play - sorry!. I want my games to last a long long time on their own with no strings attatched. Period. Also, please excuse me if I've gotten a bit out of hand and off topic. I needed to get that out of me.

Xbox 720 to have persistent Internet connection?

Such a thing as privacy in gaming is going extinct. And if some spacial anomaly, zombie apocalypse, internet server failure or ANYTHING happens to your internet connection, it's game over. In relation to the always-online issue for example, you can't play Mass Effect 3 on a PC (singleplayer!) if you don't have an internet connection and some people aren't as fortunate to always be able to connect online or at a low cost for that matter. Also, I wouldn't like any company forcefully or covertly getting feedback on what games I play and how I play them. If the world wide web should ever go down due to some cataclysm or natural disaster spread, at least some major server parts of the world... Gaming would go to hell if we needed to be online to play things. I'm just rambling in relation to Plokite_Wolf's post, anyway. "Down with always-online!" - as in down with GDI... it even rhymes.
  24. Hell, take as much time as you want, we'll still keep supporting the series' development! Just don't run off to join the armed forces again.
