  1. Pardon my interruption, but isn't it an unfair advantage to list a non-W3D engine game along side three of them? Regardless of the player counts, it's like saying UDK vs. W3D while making sure the old games look even older and much more beaten down that they should. I hope I'm wrong though, but my point still stands. The poll seems somewhat biased and a bit contradictory to promoting all C&C projects and keeping them alive - it could very well result in a form of "bad publicity" for the W3D projects in the eyes of people who either don't even know about them, or just follow Renegade X because it's "more modern and graphics-ey". Think about it, asking people if they play more of their smartphone games or on their old cellphones, doesn't make a lot of sense. Each has its own joys to give to a player. I understand the poll's intent, but I don't know what exact purpose it'll serve because it's evident that Renegade X has been getting a lot of newer publicity and activity over the years, demographics aside, while W3D engine games are advancing more compactly and can't get featured in modern magazines or whatever due to not being "hot news" and so on.
  2. After the recent release of version 1.5.0.0 of Tiberian Sun: Reborn, W3D Hub developers are organizing an open game night event where you can play with the devs. The online event will take place this Sunday (13th September) around 9pm BST / 4pm ET / 1pm PT, so make sure to check if you can make it. All you need to do in order to participate is to install TSR and jump in the official server during the event. The game has been getting quite a few smaller updates since the 1.5 release and it looks like there will be another update coming up right before the planned game night event, so expect even more fixed issues and gameplay optimizations. For more details on the upcoming game night event read the official announcement. For the latest patch info check development updates such as this one.

    Tiberian Sun: Reborn 1.5.0.0 Released

Update - for anyone wondering about where are TSR players: We had numerous tense matches recently and from what I've seen so far (included screenshot from yesterday's games) the official server can be found packed with players in the evenings (EU time zones in my case). Anyone who wants to join in on the action can easily jump over to the W3D Hub forum and ask around if there's any trouble with play timing.
  4. The well known Tiberian Sun: Reborn just got its newest update - version 1.5.0.0 of the game is now available for download via the W3D Hub launcher. Just in time to help us celebrate Command & Conquer's 20th anniversary. The update includes a lot of bug fixes, map and unit optimizations, and even the anticipated new Enforcer heavy infantry unit. There are also a lot of new developments to catch up with, including TSR's future plans which are moving toward a larger multiplayer gameplay rebalance. For more information, read through the official development update and definitely get in game to try the new version out for yourself.

    Tiberian Sun: Reborn 1.5.0.0 Released

Played a few rounds recently and boy is everyone taking advantage of that Enforcer unit! The overpowered Devil's Tongue seems weaker now, so no unfair advantages there. I also love the JumpJet's new speed settings, it feels much more responsive.

    Tiberian Sun: Reborn 1.5.0.0 Released

There were some server issues recently, if I recall correctly. Check back later via the W3D Hub launcher (preferably around the evenings) to find more players around!
  7. On a side note, Tiberium alliances has this new cover photo artwork to show, but I'm not sure if its anything new since I don't follow it any more. Looks like a compilation of previous wallpapers and such things along with some new bits and pieces added in to make it seem like a new battle sequence.
  8. I was about 3 years old when C&C initially launched. Played the first game and RA on the PS1, along with their expansions. Later, when I got a modern PC around the Win98/XP days, I stumbled upon some CDs labeled Tiberian Sun and that was that. I've accepted C&C's fate and don't even look for any news these days. I often play the old games and their community mods with full joy and that's enough for me. A big thanks to everyone involved with making the oldies what they are today, for putting in that extra effort, it shaped my childhood and my future. Nice to see people still around. Thanks to everyone for keeping C&C alive.

Unit ranks - good or bad?

I liked the veterancy system introduced in TS, but never really gave into the obsessive compulsive thing about the units who ranked up. If they survived the trip back to base, I'd just use them as an elite backup force, a last defensive line or something like that. But in a fight, I just leave it up to them to survive if they can, provided it isn't some kind of campaign mission where I have to watch my units more carefully.

Is EA Letting Command & Conquer Die?

We have to admit to ourselves that after 20 years of service, C&C (as we "older" types may know it) is done for. Whatever EA and newer dev studios do with the series, it won't be the thing we fell in love with all those years ago. It'll be something else, something different. That's not a bad thing, but it's not a good thing either if anyone is looking for more of the (good) old. Times change. Enjoy the old C&Cs and mods and whetever else we make ourselves for as long as you want - just don't count on EA or anything they manage to get their hands on regarding the series.
  11. The hard working game developers from W3D Hub just posted another much needed update. This time featuring details on the Battle for Dune: War of Assassins W3D game. The update itself elaborates on what has been going on within the development team and provides information on how and why production moved to W3D Hub, along with numerous game feature announcements. Additionally, fans of the sandy project get an excitingly fresh look at the new Atreides light infantry unit along with some other interesting reveals, such as repair fuse mechanics. You can expect a lot more new content showing up in the coming updates. Head over to W3D Hub to show your support and catch up on the full update.
  12. Like the guy above said, keep it up! I love seeing stuff like this. it's most appreciated!

    Tiberian Sun Hollywood Props

Wow, this is a neat find! TS is my favorite C&C era, so it's a real treat for me to see something like this! Looks like they at least recolored some parts of the prop, I think. Thanks for sharing your findings!

    Jelly Games Renegade Servers Closing

They could technically still organize scheduled events and start up a server as needed. Bet that would fill it up for at least the day of an event. Not every end has to be an absolute end.

    Jelly Games Renegade Servers Closing

Unfortunate. I never did get to enjoy the old Renegade multiplayer much. Didn't have stable internet back then during its best days.
  16. It doesn't matter what people think about any of this - it's NOT your mod if the assets are stolen, contributors aren't credited and the entire thing published without permission from the initial development team. From what I can tell, you never had permission to do anything but modify the mod in question as a private version -> and then you uploaded it as your own creation for public use. Get a grip man. Everything says that you stole a lot of people's assets and hard work, claimed it as your own. Do you understand all of the things that have been said here? It's not your mod - you made a mod of a mod and uploaded it without permission from the mod's development team. If you kept the entire thing private and used it only for your own gaming experiences along with a few friends, that would have been fine. To anyone more informed, please correct me if I'm wrong about anything, I'm just going by what I've read in this thread. Just trying to help resolve this joint communication failure by jotting it all down in one swoop.

    Now Playing - Games

I don't like how a lot of people are jumping into the MGS series at its very end (not speaking chronologically story-wise). Not talking about you guys directly, but most people missed out on a lot and don't care and/or know as much about the characters as they should by now. I still play through the old Metal Gear Solid (Integral) from the PlayStation 1 days once every few years.
  18. Thanks for the heads up for everyone! Do you need any assistance from the people in this community in order to shut the asset thief down faster in some way?

Who is upgrading to Windows 10?

There are a lot of very old games (plus emulated ones) that have trouble with newer setups and, additionally, depend a lot on what hardware you use. So that's a big concern for me. I don't intend on giving up old childhood favorites so I'm doing my best to preserve what I can since not all oldies get a second chance via GoG.com, for instance.

    Tiberian Daylight

Yeah, there are numerous little details I have to keep track of during picture taking (and post-production) so sometimes things like that happen without me noticing. I try to keep mishaps to a minimum though.

Who is upgrading to Windows 10?

Waiting for now. I really hope Win10 doesn't doom my old game collection. I'm big on keeping most of them alive.

    Tiberian Daylight Returns

Thanks for the heads up! Additionally, as mentioned in this post and above, we have a dedicated development section on our forum which you can all visit at any time. By the way Sonic, the preview image looks really distorted for some reason. Did you use the provided full resolution image?
