    Perhaps I didn't use the correct words. It isn't something that points towards CNCNZ directly, more like a reference to a certain project that is hosted here. It's kind of a test to see who remembers the little things from the old days, which in this case means remembering something a bit more specific (and funny). Plokite_Wolf spotted it, so it's not completely undetectable I guess.

    Very sleek, I like it! The dark blue and orange contrasts really make it pop. I'm sure you've noticed, but the navigation dropdown menus overlap with the circle buttons which operate image selection on the index slideshow. EDIT: The same dropdown menus have a slight delay before being removed from sight after the mouse pointer moves away from them, could use some adjusting.

    Feels like an end of an era for me. Zee's early work got me into this site in the first place back when Saracen was still around. Best of luck to him and I'll be sure to follow his future projects. Lets keep all of the closed projects in an archived section as Nmenth suggested. It would really be a shame to lose all of that - much of CNCNZ's history in those threads.

  11. The options in the poll don't quite match up to the situation at hand. As PW said they were full of useless threads but a lot of good things were kept there. The real question the poll should have asked is how do we feel about how EA is handling the situation, because closing down the forums without any notice isn't the way to go, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I've already made my thoughts clear in the other news threads on this matter.

  13. All of that only shows how little they care. We can't just let them treat the fanbase like that, even if it has become "normal", albeit it's not like a large portion of the fans even knows about it nor cares enough to stop sending money towards EA - the only way to really make them think about what they've done in my opinion.   14. That doesn't justify not posting some kind of warning that the forum was about to close for all of the users which had various content over there. A small notice at least a week before the closure would have been enough for everyone to backup their content and exchange contact info with other people they met there.

There is simply no excuse for throwing away all of the content that was on the official forum without any kind of upcoming forum closure notice so everyone could back up their data, files and contacts in due time. This has reached a new level of bulls*** and EA has dug itself a very deep grave. Just wait and see how sometime in the future they apologize with free stuff and all that crap and everyone instantly forgives them as usual, that is IF they apologize for "any inconvenience caused by our blablabla". I hope people don't fall for that crap again like they always do. I'm at a loss for words, this is ONE BIG middle finger towards the C&C community and nothing can redeem them in my eyes. Also, I'd like to remind everyone that they were so incompetent that they had pre-release Beta edited screenshots on their old C&C history of games tab - another clear sign that they don't even know what the older games actually looked like. EA JUST DOESN'T GIVE A F***! So quick, give them more money, buy Battlefield to support them or some other crap they hyper-market. They have absolutely no respect for the C&C fanbase and care only about one thing - money, money and even more truckloads of money. /end of angry EA rant
  16. Figures, they don't care about any user related content that some people kept there. All that info, just gone - not even a "backup your stuff, forum closure incoming" notice!! Tells you a lot about the people in charge regarding C&C. They just don't give a s*** about any of us, only money.

    A place for everything that doesn't need its own thread (so the chatbox doesn't get crowded too often with RenX-only chatter). ------------------------------ Now, onto some generic discussion! I have a couple of things on my mind which I need to get out of me. Firstly, I know everyone remembers the old red-glass-dome-helmet chem trooper from Renegade and I would love to see that armor set return in an updated form. The chem trooper was recently updated from a repainted nod soldier to a repainted new BH character model, and that doesn't sit well with me (albeit the new models look badass). Ofcourse, the devs can't focus on things like that all the time. Anyone else miss the red bucket head model? A second topic I'd like to draw attention to is what do other players think of exploits such as the APCs fitting through the trees at the central cave on Lakeside and getting behind both bases through the river-forest "infantry only" path. Since it isn't technically glitching, the vehicles CAN fit with some careful driving but anti-vehicle blockers do exist on both base sides of the river path if I understood correctly. Also, SBH infiltration teams always go for the same paths on maps such as Xmountain and other maps, sticking to certain rock ledges and particular flanks, which makes it easy to spot them with systematic rapid fire from a defensive humvee or APC along those rock lines - it uncovers them once you get a proximity hit and you can continue shooting or just squish them. The problem arises when SBH teams, along with experienced clan members from certain servers, start calling this tactic "cheating", thinking that the vehicle defender is able to see SBHs at a distance. Which isn't the case. I've been on countless SBH infiltrations and have pretty much like everyone else figured out the best paths which comes in handy while on GDI defense. And thats all there is to it - you know the enemy's moves because you were the enemy and did those same moves. This is just a thing that has been bugging me and I wanted to say something on the matter.

    If only everyone had listened and just got in Nod vehicles only for the first wave and backed it up with meds straight afterwards. Nevertheless it was great fun!
