  1. The site being an info hub is the reason I found it in the first place all those years ago, as it had a treasury of fixes, files and information that I couldn't easily find anywhere else. In many ways, it's far superior to anything EA unfortunately bothered to set up as an official C&C site. And being fan-lead and community-wide interconnected, I trust CNCNZ will remain a beacon of the C&C franchise in whatever form you deem best suitable for the job.

I really miss the old filefront repository type system where "multiple clicks" always got me what I needed. Although newcomers and many of us that are now used to simpler designes might feel overwhelmed if met head on with such a system nowadays. As long as the landing pages remain streamlined to not repel visitors with too much information or lists all at once, whatever systems in place to organize files and information that are one or two click-levels deeper into the site should be good.

I think I can humbly and respectfully speak for many of us in the wider community when I say that CNCNZ's contribution to keeping C&C alive, as well as that of the dedicated staff here, is a true inspiration and that we are very glad to see such a site still around. Thank you for keeping the site going against all odds, many of us (even though not always around to show it) sincerely appreciate it!

We know those were thrown away

Why would anyone just scrap a piece of history that has so many fans in the world? Seems very disrespectful and destructive to the very origins of the franchise. Hearing about such things makes me really sad to be honest; at least donate them to a video game culture related museum under a special license or something where it can be preserved.

I wonder if you'll actually be making games as your site's title would imply...

Check the About and Projects tabs on the main site if you're curious.

Current focus is on making more videos, as what you see currently is just starter content. Fun times ahead! I appreciate any feedback you can give me as well. I'm very new to recording myself and presenting such things, so I have a lot to learn. I'm improving fast though!

  4. I haven't been around much, and for anyone who is interested in what I've been up to, I just published some content that some of you here might find interesting!

My post at the W3D Hub community forum explains it pretty well, so feel free to check that out if you're curious!

As you can see in that thread and on the site itself, one of the starting videos is a bit more related to this community as well (the TS video), so that might be a good example of what to expect.

Let me know your thoughts and I hope this has been of some value to you! Thanks and enjoy! :)

  5. I haven't always agreed with how you did things around the site and presented yourself and the team here publicly, Sonic, but you have my respect for creating all of this from 90s early C&C scratch and keeping it running for two whole decades. That's a big achievement and it's yours to keep and look back on as a long learning experience, full of interesting memories. Thank you for keeping the site alive for as long as you did. Means a lot to so many of us.

I realize things have been hard with the larger community having to detach from EA and keep itself going on fumes at times, but you kept us online regardless. Hopefully your personal situation changes for the better soon, and that you find it a welcome change of pace and lifestyle being on the (somewhat) outside a bit and seeing how the site and C&C community further evolves. Sounds kinda relaxing, right? Good luck in whatever new stuff fills out your time!

  6. So what happens to the site / forum content? Decades of content. Just gone after a few days with no solid deadline to which we have time for making backups?
This is a very abrupt turn of events. I'd hate to see everything lost just because of a sudden shutdown decision. More so for people who don't visit on a daily basis.
