    C&C With a New Storyline

Nah... noone is looking at the plot so much. Just make a short glimpse in StarCraft. It's mostly something in between "Bold & Beautiful" and some space-operas from the late 80's. The main characters are not developed, the Terran space expedition is shortly briefed in manual, and player isn't even sure is the "zergification" of Kerrigan was part of Mengsk plan, or was it just a pure luck and huge coincidence, that Overmind needed a mental man to his zoo. It's very tough to write a plot for RTS, because you can't focus storyline on one character. There are too many factors to describe motives of protagonists and antagonist in circa 15h game. Mostly, what makes an RTS perfect is balance and game mechanics, which CNC was lacking. Also game engine was an achilles heel in most of Westwood productions. I just want to remind you, how many times TS crashed during connecting to Internet game, or how the game was slowing down in both TS and RA2, after a while. It's great that CNC community have people who can fix those issues, but those things should be done by full-time employees, not hobbyists from around the world. I really miss, that Westwood / EALA / VIctory Games were defunct, but - to be honest - i prefer to play fully polished titles, rather than crappy game rushed in less than year, which dies in natural death sooner than lasts lifespan of housefly.

    GenTool Download

Yeah, but i have to add, that Chrome blocks the file even from this site. I am not sure why, but i think that is something related with download of additional maps by GenTool. Someone reported this, and here is the result of such inconvenience. To "unblock" the file in Chrome: 1. Go to "Settings". 2. Select "Show advanced settings". 3. Uncheck "Phishing and malware protection". 4. After downloading and properly installing the file, check previous option back.

    GenTool Download

I am having different info about gentool.net. http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gentool.net%2F&client=googlechrome&hl=eng It looks at least suspicious. Google doesn't block the site without certain evidence. It might be just Google bot issue, but the site is block every time i am trying to connect to it. Maybe someone from gentool.net could made a statement (or anything) to clarify what's goin' on with their site.

The question is how many units did you produce, because there is a limit up to 3k.
  6. All you need then is NoCD crack. For obvious reason i won't write down where you can find a reasonable file, but if you wish to i can send you PM with details.

  15. I am playing on Linux via Crossover application. Had some isues with install, but game looks great. My rig is: 3.0 Ghz Athlon 250 4 GB RAM GeForce 450 GS Game runs barely on medium. UT3 on same spec on Linux platform runs far way better - probably because of beta.

    Full Download

As the host of all Westwood Games (except those made under new brand like EALA etc.) they can provide anything related to multiplayer games: maps, game client, etc. However, game content (single player and movies) is forbidden to share. That's all i know.

Windows 9 in 2015? And for free?

Right after release of Windows 8, Microsoft decided to close update for outdated systems... they thought, that people would migrate to "eight" faster if they force them to do it.

    Upgraded to VDSL

About 20$ per month. I even consider to lower my speed, extend the contract and pay about 15$ per month for 4mbs. Sometimes, i have some issue with radio antenne (6 Ghz), but most of the time it works marvelous.

Windows 9 in 2015? And for free?

However, even if you buy a XP after "deadline", you'll still need to activate it - even when, you won't be able to update it. I don't see a point of such policy.

Just bought Crusader Kings 2 on Steam for 5$! Can't wait untill exams will be over and i'll have some fun with it.
  22. If something isn't broken why to fix this? Especially if you run a company, and you don't want to worry for files which may be corrupted if something would go wrong during upgrade. Software progress have nothing to do with usage of specific OS. If it is good and functional, why bother to change it? Because a 40 year old company says so? Because some "white-collar" has said, that i may use his program only for ten years? The world has changed. The most popular Internet browsers are open source. The most popular game distributor is Steam (not open source but free with free games). The most popular OS for mobile phones is Android, which is also open source. 20 years ago i was forced to usage of Micro$oft systems, because there was no real alternative for it. Linux distributions were mostly an command lines, and OSX was costly. Nowadays, i can install a open source OS to surf the web, write, watch and do everything i could do on proprietary Windows or OS X. The only problem is with still concreted "white-collars", who are cognitively limited to realize, that we are no longer live in 90's. The XP is run mostly in companies, which follows old rule "if something is stupid, but it's working, it's not stupid". EDIT: This one is even more proper: If you constantly improve something - certainly you break it.

Windows 9 in 2015? And for free?

CPU restrictions? Nowadays every up-to-date OS have proper instructions for any CPU. They're all the same. The only difference is in API, but most of modern OS' handle latest CPU units. Not only Windows. The only problem might be with proprietary drivers. Those from Nvidia works good enough on Linux and other systems, while AMD... better not to mention at all. What concerns gossip 'bout free Windows 9 - i frankly doubt it. The company which runs since mid 70's and still didn't freed abandoned / outdated Windows versions, won't give up and agree, that their policy of selling proprietary software was wrong for last 40 years. It's just impossible. Even new CEO won't do that even if the stock analysts would force him. Still the most popular Windows is XP. Mostly by companies which don't see a reason to upgrade their Windows, while XP is working fine for last 14 years... and Micro$oft can't even force them to migrate to their latest Windows 8.1, so they extended the support for XP for one year extra. It looks like they have no idea how to sell their software any longer. In 90's Windows was popular, because of it "innovation" and "multitasking" (first multi-task OS was Workbench for Commodore system in... 1985!). Nowadays there is no visual difference between Mint (most popular Linux distribution), Windows and OSX. Why customer should pay 199$ for an OS which has a "support" for 10 years, while there is on market OSX which sells upgrade for free, like Linux? Nevertheless, we'll see how it ends...
  24. I lol'd so hard. Their fight with XP is so miserable that they can't even persuade customers to upgrade their Windows. China is even considering to push the Microsoft to open the code of XP.
  25. As it is mentioned in article, it isn't their fault. Open source browser let third party companies to add some lines of codes to their application to do such "sneaky" things. Nevertheless because of the open source code of Google Chrome we know about this and that's why Chrome is still superior than proprietary browsers such as Internet Explorer etc. I suppose that same things we could find in other open source browsers like Firefox or Chromium.
