  4. The CnCMaps.com website, which used to hold many fan-made maps for C&C games from Generals to Tiberian Twilight, was closed in the summer of 2013 after its administrator lost the time and motivation to maintain it. Two weeks ago, though, he decided to save much of the lost material by collecting all the maps that were sent over the years and uploaded them to the Microsoft OneDrive service for everyone to download. You can check out this vast archive by clicking here.

    C&C Online News

Greetings Generals! We are pleased to announce that statistics recording and, for the very first time in the games' histories, automatic 1v1 ranked ladders have been enabled for Command and Conquer Generals and Zero Hour on C&C:Online. Statistics are now being recorded and display to players in each game as they did under GameSpy. Those statistics, along with a live display of 1vs1 ladder standings are available on Shatabrick. There are plans to display the ladders and statistics on other sites, including the C&C:Online web site and on GameReplays. Presently, ladders and statistics are available only to GenTool users. Statistics recording (but not ladder access) may be made available to non-Gentool users in the future. The ladders in both games are operating a simplified Elo system, where a variable number of points are awarded or deducted for a win or a loss, based on the number of points held by each player. Presently, thirty three points are awarded or deducted for a win or loss between players holding an equal number of points, varying between a minimum of five points and a maximum of sixty points, depending on the points difference between the players. In Zero Hour, the ladder is presently restricted to 1vs1 games played on the official 1vs1 maps, although we intend to extend the map pool in the near future in consultation with players. There are currently no restrictions on the maps which may be played in Generals. For the future, there are plans to add a 2vs2 ladder, a clan ladder and match histories. Unsuspecting players have been competing on the ladders for the last few days now but we'll be resetting the ladders in both games on 14 September so players have a fresh chance to scrabble to the top by the end of the month. After that, we'll be resetting the ladders monthly and will be looking at holding a competition for the top ladder players at the end of each month. So Generals, watch out for the reset and get ranking! View the Generals 1v1 ladder View the Zero Hour 1v1 ladder
  6. Another significant update for C&C: Online has arrived with the long awaited return of the 1v1 and 2v2 ranked ladders for Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3. To take advantage of the new ladders you will need download and install version 2.0.6 of the updated launcher from the C&C: Online site. More details about the new ladders can be found in this topic in our Community News forum.
  7. Concept Artist Todd Kale has uploaded 14 new concept art pieces of his work on Kane's Wrath on his personal blog. These concepts include subfaction logo prototypes and concept art for upgraded ZOCOM infantry. You can view the rest on Todd Kale's blog.
  8. C&C: Online, the new community made and managed online server for Generals, Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath, and Red Alert 3 is now officially up and running. This new service is designed to take over from the GameSpy shutdown that happened on the 30th of June. Read the announcement below to find out how you can start playing on C&C: Online. So head over to the C&C: Online site, download the all important C&C:Online Launcher and get online.
  9. Its well past the 30th of June deadline, but there are reports that the GameSpy servers for Generals & Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars & Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3 have now been confirmed as offline. But its not the end, because as you know, the replacement has been waiting in the wings. C&C: Online is ready to take over. C&C: Online is a community made and managed online server for Generals, Zero Hour, C&C 3, Kane’s Wrath, and Red Alert 3, allowing you to log in and continue playing online just like you could when GameSpy’s servers were still online. All information about C&C: Online can be found right here.
  10. C&C: Online has been available for a couple of days now. With that in mind, Sybert, has made this great video tutorial to help people get started and get online with C&C: Online. There is plenty of help availble for C&C: Online. Either via the C&C: Online section here on CNCNZ.com, the C&C: Online site and the support forums.
  11. C&C: Online hasn't launched just yet but its getting there. In the meantime, a new Fair Play and Member Management section has been opened on the Revora Forums. This new section includes a guide that explains How to claim your old nick name(s). This appears to be a rather important transitional step for the likes of Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3, as you will not be able to use your old nick names until they have been verified that you own them. Once you have signed up for a Revora account, go to this forum at Revora and make your claim. Visit the new C&C: Online page here at CNCNZ.com for more details about the new community-driven GameSpy replacement.

  16. Just a couple of days ago, EA issued a status update about the closure of the GameSpy multiplayer servers for many of their games. These servers are closing at the end of June. Apparently EA are currently exploring all possible options to continue multiplayer services for many popular games, Command & Conquer included. The full list of games impacted by the change can be seen on the EA Online Services Updates page.
  17. It was announced last month that hundreds of video games, including those made by Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Gearbox, Nintendo, Konami, Capcom and more, may be taken off-line as GameSpy's multiplayer servers shut down on the 31st of May. What this means is the multiplayer services for the games listed below will no longer function. Games Effected Command & Conquer Generals Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath Red Alert 3 From what we understand, Electronic Arts says it is working to transition old multiplayer games away from the soon-to-be-defunct GameSpy network backend, but some hurdles remain. And that's basically all we know at this stage, there have been no further announcements from EA. It may be a case of the community seeking alternatives such as Hamachi, Tunngle, GameRanger and Evolve in order to continue to play these games online.
  18. Since GameSpy servers are shutting down on May 31st and we have many reasons to doubt EA will move the servers for EALA's C&C games elsewhere, GameReplays.org is hosting the Farewell GameSpy tournaments in Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath. The Tiberium Wars tournament will be held on May 3rd (Saturday) at 13:00 GMT, with prizes totalling 110 USD (at the moment of writing), which will be awarded to the winners of this event, with $60 for first place, $35 for second place and $15 for third place. There will be an additional random prize of $20 awarded to a current GameReplays member that completes the event. All you have to do is sign up here. You can see the rules here. (note that the prize totals are outdated in that link, as we're still getting donations). The Kane's Wrath tournament is still being thought through, we're looking for the May 17th/18th, and will most likely be played on version 1.02+ R9, which fixes many bugs and glitches and adds new maps. There is currently a poll on the map pool underway, so make sure you vote there as well. If you would like to donate for the prize pool (not an imperative ), you can do so on the Shatabrick PayPal account. In the meantime, we're looking for replacements for the official servers to hold tournaments. Currently, our options are Evolve, Tunngle, GameRanger and Hamachi. Although research is underway and we've selected a few favourites, we welcome all input on this. See you on GameSpy's battlefield for the final time, commanders!
  19. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/04/03/gamespy-multiplayer-shutting-down-hundreds-of-games-at-risk For C&C, this means the closure of servers for Generals, Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3 (not sure who holds Tiberian Twilight) unless an urgent server move is made. Seeing how so many games are hosted on the same server platforms, that'll be quite a job.
  20. Since I like to have everything in one place, I've decided to create a beginners' guide for Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath multiplayer, especially now since some things have changed with the account system and C&C:Online has taken GameSpy's role of operating the servers after the latter's closure. UPDATED: 28 August 2014 1. DOWNLOADS 1.1. NECESSARY Without these, you will not be able to play, as they are used by every player in the lobby. Users of Steam and Origin releases do not need these. It also displays distinct icons if a player is known to have common desyncs or disconnections. If you search for one of the usernames attached to your account (so-called "smurfs"), you will get to see all of them in the search form, but with individual stats one below the other. 4. COMMUNITY PATCHES FOR KANE'S WRATH 4.1. PATCH 1.02+ Although the official version is 1.02, many players, including the experts, decide to play the community-made version 1.02+, created by CrazyGDIFan123`. This is a patch aimed to remove as many bugs and glitches as possible, like faulty Awakened EMP blasts or Rocket/Heavy Harvesters' unexplained lower harvesting rate. The patch is made to have as little impact to the balance as possible. You can switch between 1.02 and 1.02+ at any time! It also comes with two great mappacks, while the maps themselves can be played on the official version 1.02 and will retain their new features without touching the base game. Note that they cannot be transferred online due to the fact that they are compiled in a .BIG file and must be installed manually. Players with 1.02+ enabled are not compatible with players who do not have it. 4.1.1. PATCH 1.02+ MAPS BY PREDATORE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZo5G5qJwHg Predatore has made several quite original maps for patch 1.02+, which turned out to be a smash hit among the players and, after a long struggle, they've been placed on the ranked map list. You can download them for 1.02 here, while the instructions on their installation are here. NOTE: Patch 1.02+ releases 6 and beyond already include Predatore's maps by default with all patch changes included. 4.2. PATCH 1.03 A much less frequent sight, patch 1.03 comes from the same creator as 1.02+ and includes all of its features, but this time, it touches the balancing issues. Whether you need this or not, you will decide for yourself, as some changes may look great, but others may not to some players, so read the full changelog before deciding. It also comes with its own mappacks and you can switch between 1.02 and 1.03 at any time. Players with 1.03 enabled are not compatible with players who do not have it. 5. REPORTING All reports of cheaters, disconnections, desyncers and other abusers are to be addressed in these subforums: Tiberium Wars | Kane's Wrath 6. RESOLVING RANK ISSUES If you are having issues in receiving points and/or getting a higher rank, report to these threads: Tiberium Wars | Kane's Wrath
  21. BikERush, an avid RTS gamer who is currently #1 on the Kane's Wrath leaderboards, has been streaming Kane's Wrath online gameplay for the past couple days. He's trying to gather donations for a $1000 Kane's Wrath tournament. As of this news posting, he has won 52 consecutive games in a row playing online. It seems like he's planning on playing all weekend, so grab your drinks and take a seat! You can check out his Twitch.tv channel and watch live by clicking here.
  22. Release 6 of the community-made patch 1.02+ for Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath has been made available for download. This build removes the MRT radius display from the enemies' field of view, brings a minor XP fix for epic units and adds an experimental fix for the desync caused by Combat Support Airfields which is yet to be tested in an online environment. You can download the patch here. Its maps, which do not require the patch itself to be installed and use all of its changes, are more popular among the players, so you can get them here.
  23. On Sunday, September 29th at 12:00 GMT, GameReplays.org will be hosting a 1v1 tournament in Kane's Wrath powered by Shatabrick.com. The prize is 30 USD, and a random participant will receive an alpha key for the new Command & Conquer game during a draw that will be held after the tournament is concluded. For more information, click here.
  24. Following on from our last poll, Mammoth Tank Battle! Which one is your all time favourite? It's time for a new poll. We are continuing with our "Battle Theme" for this one, but this time the focus is on the Epic Units from Kane's Wrath. So, the new poll question is: Epic Unit Battle! Which one is your favourite? Is it The Redeemer from the Brotherhood of Nod? Perhaps you just like massive oversized tanks in the form of the GDI's M.A.R.V.? Or maybe it the Scrin's spider-like Eradicator Hexapod is more to your liking? If you are reading this update on the main page, just look to your right and vote in the poll box. If you are reading this via the forums, click here to cast your vote. And, as always, don't forget to share any feedback or comments about this poll as well. Here are the results of our previous poll, Mammoth Tank Battle! Which one is your all time favourite? Leading with 26% of the vote, the Soviet Apocalypse Tank from Red Alert 2 is the most favoured of all the Mammoth Tanks. The full results of this poll can be found right here.
