Today, one day before the 15th anniversary of the original release of C&C Generals, the first version of OpenSAGE, an open-source reimplementation of the venerable SAGE engine that powered EALA's Command & Conquer and Battle for Middle-earth games, has been published. Since the engine has had many iterations, and since it this project has only been in development for 6 months, the current build (20180210) is NOT playable. However, it does do basic rendering (with some effects like Tiberium Wars-like clouds), some menu displays, and preview data. You can read more on this release in this dev diary, and download and examine the current build on this GitHub page.
