  1. C&C: Online is a new community based initiative to prolong the online life of your favourite Command & Conquer games. While we can't give you all the details just yet but we can at least say good things are happening. We will have more news about this exciting community development soon.
  2. All Command & Conquer games on Origin have been reduced in price by 70% in the recently started Player Appreciation Sale. Some real bargains here. Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight - $7.49 Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 - $7.49 Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising - $7.49 Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath - $5.99 Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars - $4.49 Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection - $34.99 (Not part of sale) All prices shown here are in New Zealand dollars, prices will vary depending on your location. Click here for the list of Command & Conquer games or check out the full sale.
  3. Just a couple of days ago, EA issued a status update about the closure of the GameSpy multiplayer servers for many of their games. These servers are closing at the end of June. Apparently EA are currently exploring all possible options to continue multiplayer services for many popular games, Command & Conquer included. The full list of games impacted by the change can be seen on the EA Online Services Updates page.
  4. It was announced last month that hundreds of video games, including those made by Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Gearbox, Nintendo, Konami, Capcom and more, may be taken off-line as GameSpy's multiplayer servers shut down on the 31st of May. What this means is the multiplayer services for the games listed below will no longer function. Games Effected Command & Conquer Generals Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath Red Alert 3 From what we understand, Electronic Arts says it is working to transition old multiplayer games away from the soon-to-be-defunct GameSpy network backend, but some hurdles remain. And that's basically all we know at this stage, there have been no further announcements from EA. It may be a case of the community seeking alternatives such as Hamachi, Tunngle, GameRanger and Evolve in order to continue to play these games online.
  5. Since GameSpy servers are shutting down on May 31st and we have many reasons to doubt EA will move the servers for EALA's C&C games elsewhere, GameReplays.org is hosting the Farewell GameSpy tournaments in Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath. The Tiberium Wars tournament will be held on May 3rd (Saturday) at 13:00 GMT, with prizes totalling 110 USD (at the moment of writing), which will be awarded to the winners of this event, with $60 for first place, $35 for second place and $15 for third place. There will be an additional random prize of $20 awarded to a current GameReplays member that completes the event. All you have to do is sign up here. You can see the rules here. (note that the prize totals are outdated in that link, as we're still getting donations). The Kane's Wrath tournament is still being thought through, we're looking for the May 17th/18th, and will most likely be played on version 1.02+ R9, which fixes many bugs and glitches and adds new maps. There is currently a poll on the map pool underway, so make sure you vote there as well. If you would like to donate for the prize pool (not an imperative ), you can do so on the Shatabrick PayPal account. In the meantime, we're looking for replacements for the official servers to hold tournaments. Currently, our options are Evolve, Tunngle, GameRanger and Hamachi. Although research is underway and we've selected a few favourites, we welcome all input on this. See you on GameSpy's battlefield for the final time, commanders!
  6. I'm putting together a new feature for CNCNZ.com and it requires some input from you, the long time Command & Conquer fan. What you need to do is share with us your favourite, most memorable or simply the most awesome moment from any of the Command & Conquer games. The moment that makes you simile, laugh or think "now that was bad ass!". For example, it could be a scene stealing moment such as when Kane makes his announced appearance during the Soviet campaign in the original Red Alert. For me, it was such an unexpected moment, Kane barely says a word, but his presence was so powerful. So what's your favourite Command & Conquer moment? Or moments. Share them with us in this topic. It will also help if you include a screenshot and describe why you like the moment so much.
  7. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/04/03/gamespy-multiplayer-shutting-down-hundreds-of-games-at-risk For C&C, this means the closure of servers for Generals, Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3 (not sure who holds Tiberian Twilight) unless an urgent server move is made. Seeing how so many games are hosted on the same server platforms, that'll be quite a job.
  8. Now here's something different, its a Command & Conquer Board Game. Created by Mathias Detzner, this fan made board game takes the battles from your computer screen to the table. The game itself will not be made available for retail sale. What we don't know is, will the game be made available to others in some form? Watch this video below to learn more. Command & Conquer Board Game is on Facebook, where you will also find a few more pictures of the how the game is set up.
  9. For the past couple of days we have been asking fans to share a photo or photos of their Command & Conquer collections on our Facebook page. All of the games, T-Shirts and other memorabilia you have amassed over the years. We know there are many long time fans of the franchise so now we want you to show us. Show us how dedicated you are. We have already shared many of the photos from other Command & Conquer fans on the CNCNZ.com Facebook page for others see. Its proven rather popular so far. Head over there and check them out. If you have a collection you would like to share post it on our Facebook page, or just as a reply in this news thread. I'm now wondering if we can get any of the CNCNZ.com team to share their collection?
  10. Since I like to have everything in one place, I've decided to create a beginners' guide for Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath multiplayer, especially now since some things have changed with the account system and C&C:Online has taken GameSpy's role of operating the servers after the latter's closure. UPDATED: 28 August 2014 1. DOWNLOADS 1.1. NECESSARY Without these, you will not be able to play, as they are used by every player in the lobby. Users of Steam and Origin releases do not need these. This will prevent incompatibility with players who have disc/Steam versions and fix several issues TUC brought. Note that you need to disable Origin functionality for all TUC games before using this tool. 1.2. OPTIONAL Tiberium Wars WorldBuilder (v2.0) - allows creation and alteration of maps in Tiberium Wars. Individual maps can be transferred to other players ingame Tiberium Wars AutoReplay Tool - automatically saves replays at the end of every match Tiberium Wars Replay Tool - allows comprehensive management and viewing of TW replays Kane's Wrath WorldBuilder (v1.1) - allows creation and alteration of maps in Kane's Wrath. It also displays distinct icons if a player is known to have common desyncs or disconnections. If you search for one of the usernames attached to your account (so-called "smurfs"), you will get to see all of them in the search form, but with individual stats one below the other. 4. COMMUNITY PATCHES FOR KANE'S WRATH 4.1. PATCH 1.02+ Although the official version is 1.02, many players, including the experts, decide to play the community-made version 1.02+, created by CrazyGDIFan123`. This is a patch aimed to remove as many bugs and glitches as possible, like faulty Awakened EMP blasts or Rocket/Heavy Harvesters' unexplained lower harvesting rate. The patch is made to have as little impact to the balance as possible. You can switch between 1.02 and 1.02+ at any time! It also comes with two great mappacks, while the maps themselves can be played on the official version 1.02 and will retain their new features without touching the base game. Note that they cannot be transferred online due to the fact that they are compiled in a .BIG file and must be installed manually. Players with 1.02+ enabled are not compatible with players who do not have it. 4.1.1. PATCH 1.02+ MAPS BY PREDATORE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZo5G5qJwHg Predatore has made several quite original maps for patch 1.02+, which turned out to be a smash hit among the players and, after a long struggle, they've been placed on the ranked map list. You can download them for 1.02 here, while the instructions on their installation are here. NOTE: Patch 1.02+ releases 6 and beyond already include Predatore's maps by default with all patch changes included. 4.2. PATCH 1.03 A much less frequent sight, patch 1.03 comes from the same creator as 1.02+ and includes all of its features, but this time, it touches the balancing issues. Whether you need this or not, you will decide for yourself, as some changes may look great, but others may not to some players, so read the full changelog before deciding. It also comes with its own mappacks and you can switch between 1.02 and 1.03 at any time. Players with 1.03 enabled are not compatible with players who do not have it. 5. REPORTING All reports of cheaters, disconnections, desyncers and other abusers are to be addressed in these subforums: Tiberium Wars | Kane's Wrath 6. RESOLVING RANK ISSUES If you are having issues in receiving points and/or getting a higher rank, report to these threads: Tiberium Wars | Kane's Wrath
  11. Just a few days ago, gaming blog UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT posted a list that shows their top 5 Command & Conquer titles. It's an interesting and possibly controversial pick for number one, that being Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, but it's really just one person's opinion. The full top 5 is.... Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Command & Conquer: Red Alert Command & Conquer: Generals Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 You will find the full article right here.
  12. More interface variations have been released by CnCSaga.ru, this time for C&C 3: Tiberium Wars. Among other things, there are different theatre menus, cameos, loading screens and more. Same as with the Red Alert 3 interface concepts we posted about yesterday, these images have been made available by Insun Kang, a designer who has worked on C&C since Red Alert 2 and remained in the series' development until 2008, after which he moved to Blizzard to work on StarCraft II and its expansion. Here are some samples: Click here for more.
  13. Hi guys, I'd like to know whether this mod can also be played with KW expansion or not, it is pretty popular by the way http://commandandconquer.filefront.com/file/CC_Retarded_Triple;89630 Thanks in advance
  14. Hi guys, I have a little problem with TheGunRun's mod called "Retarded 2.7" Mod is REALLY AWESOME, but I have couple questions: Does brutal AI cheat and break in-game mechanics just like in unmodded game? (The nod AI could use catalyst missile right into your Refinery without even seeing it, getting double-the-amount of resources, no fog-of-war etc.) I'd like to change the way Avatar Warmechs come out, how can I edit them to come out with FULL upgrades? Just that no other change If this is not possible I would use version 2.8 but there Avatar Warmechs require a newly added structure to be built. But how can I change it in a way so It does not require that building to be built since AI cannot build them. Thanks for all the replies

  18. Just a couple of days ago, RTSGuru posted a new article called The Golden Age - A Visual History of Nod. it takes a look at how the Brotherhood of Nod have developed over the years, mechanically and stylistically, from the original Command & Conquer through to Tiberian Twilight. Tiberium Alliances does get a mention towards the end though. Here's a part of the article. You can read the full article right here.
  19. Well, this was unexpected. When pointlessly browsing CnC-Source, I found this strange file. Apparently, four years ago, someone refused to upgrade to WinXP and made a patch for Tiberium Wars, and later compatible with Kane's Wrath, to run under Win2000! So if anyone has a VM with Win2000 on it, this patch may be useful for you. Xenkan's Windows 2000 Patch for Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath (929 KB)
  20. Fans who enjoy the competitive multiplayer scene might be interested in the recently announced Tiberium Wars League II Tournament at GameReplays.org. Each tournament has a slightly different theme to keep things fresh and interesting, so that everyone has a chance to show off their skills. The grand prize winner will take away $US150 and a copy of Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Edition. Check out the Tiberium Wars League II Tournament page for the details.

The Kane's Wrath Reloaded mod for C&C 3: Tiberium Wars has been updated with two new units - the Sheppard Tank from C&C 4, that has been refitted with the Pulse Scan and a slot for an infantry unit, and the Zone Howitzer, a powerful artillery unit that fires sonic shells at its targets.
