I recall when I was younger when GameSpy was a thing, I recall playing a Server on the Map Islands Don't know if it was a modified or not. But you use the chat to use commands to check list of props, move between the list of props so you could build around, was like a type of Sandbox mod, was pretty neat, does anyone know what's the server / mod / map i'm talking about? Thanks Note: There was a user who said the following: "I remember a funserver here you could build things on that map. I think it was from RenMatrix."

The channel for testing is on irc.cncirc.net #mpf-test Permission Granted You are allowed to use anything from our Public Developer SVN for use on maps or mods that will (potentially) run on our Renegade NewMaps or Snipers Server. Developer Support Forum Access the Developer Kit Support Forums. We have a forum where the working and details for various scripts are discussed. You can also request scripts for special functions if you need them. Only the '+Renegade Mapper' group which you'll be placed in has access to this forum along with the UltraAOW Developers and Administrators & Donators. Access Granted We are running a Tortoise SVN repository for this specific purpose. If you are a Mapper and would like to have access to our repository please drop me (zunnie) a message on the forum, or on IRC/TS3. I will then set you up with access.

On Friday, W3D Hub posted a pretty intense update on what they've been doing behind the scenes lately. Apart from a new intro that goes with their logo inspired by Westwood's 1998-2003 orb logo and a run-down of what they've accomplished from their 2018 roadmap, they've announced that the W3D Hub launcher now supports the regular C&C Renegade with the option of installing the latest version of Scripts, an announcement for the W3D Kit that will accomodate many needs of Renegade modders, a new wiki for W3D engine development called the Tacitus, and last but definitely the most, the first public release of W3D tools for 3D Studio Max 2017 that is meant to support model formats from C&C Renegade, C&C Generals/Zero Hour and the Battle for Middle-earth titles. More details can be found in their official post.

Command & Conquer The Rise and Fall of Command & Conquer - Redux
Plok posted a topic in Command & Conquer News
Over a month ago, the team at GVMERS, who had previously covered the fate of the cancelled FPS Tiberium, created a video on the entire C&C franchise. What you are looking at above is the corrected, definitive version - certain facts about things that happened behind the scenes in Westwood Studios, EA Pacific, EA Los Angeles and Victory Games have been proofread, and each game is now presented in higher detail, in order to better describe what made Command & Conquer what it is, in both its good and bad times. The video is now 10 minutes longer in total, so be sure to check it out!- 3 replies

Command & Conquer The Rise and Fall of Command & Conquer
Sonic posted a topic in Command & Conquer News
Back in February, GVMERS posted a video that looked at what happened to the cancelled Tiberium FPS. Today, they have new Command & Conquer video that dives into the entire franchise. The Command & Conquer franchise helped shape the identity of RTS games during the 1990's and would influence the designs of countless similar strategy titles in later years. Even though the franchise ended with a whimper instead of a bang, it managed to create an indelible impact on the history of videogames. Join the team from GVMERS as they take a look at the rise and fall of Command & Conquer.- 7 replies

Just a couple of days ago, on the 26th of February, marked the 15th anniversary of Command & Conquer Renegade. Way back in 2002 Westwood Studios finally released Command & Conquer Renegade after a long and delayed build up. There was much excitement in the C&C community as we were actually getting our first taste of a first person shooter set in the Command & Conquer universe. Reality set in when most fans discovered the single player was rather average, but the real gem of the game was the multiplayer mode. Something we came to know simply as "C&C Mode". Nothing matched it at the time, it was different. It was fast paced. It truly was unrivalled gameplay. The idea was simple, yet so effective. Two sides, one resource, first one to destroy the enemies base wins. The focus was on points and the amount of damage you dished out, rather than straight out kills. So it really meant nothing if you had 2 kills or 20 kills in a game. I remember spending many long hours into the night in game after game, it was kind of addictive. Tanking rushing, Engineer rushing, deploying your Ion or Nuke beacons, chaotic infantry skirmishes and more.... Renegade had it all! Hard to believe all of that was 15 years ago. The good news you can still play the classic Renegade online but the best way in these modern times is get to Renegade X. Renegade's unmatched, unrivalled gameplay lives on. Renegade X is free to download and free to play. It is made by C&C fans for C&C fans and considered a tribute to Westwood Studios' original creation. Visit the Renegade X site more information and to download the game. Share your favourite Renegade memories with us in this new topic. Thanks to W3D Hub for the news image.

Throwback Thursday Throwback Thursday for 2nd February
Plok posted a topic in Command & Conquer News
In Throwback Thursday, we've featured several stars from films and series who made their appearance in the Command & Conquer series. One of these appearances is often forgotten or overlooked - I'm thinking, of course, the role of Dr. Ignatio Moebius voiced by René Murat Auberjonois in C&C Renegade from 2002. Auberjonois is a well-known actor, having appeared in series such as M*A*S*H, Benson, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Boston Legal, as well as films, cartoons and theatre plays. Interestingly, he is a descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte's youngest sister! Compared to Moebius' original portrayal by Richard Smith in the first Command & Conquer, his Renegade self seems a lot older and more serious, helped by Auberjonois' rough voice. Remember, you can click on the preview to see a larger and more detailed image. Don't forget to check out the Throwback Thursdays archives if you've missed a week. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We also encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #ThrowbackThursday, #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT. -
This week's selection for Music Monday is one of my all time for favourites. Its "Stomp" from C&C Renegade. A hard hitting piece of music, almost like it was written for a different game. That's because it was. "Stomp" was originally intended to be used in Tiberian Sun but it didn't fit in with the more atmospheric theme of the soundtrack. Long time C&C fans will remember hearing it for the first time in trailers for Tiberian Sun. It was later resurrected for C&C Renegade, fitting in seamlessly. A new track will be posted next Monday. Share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCMusicMonday and #MusicMonday.

Imperial Age Imperial Age for C&C Renegade Joins W3D Hub
Sonic posted a topic in Command & Conquer News
Imperial Age for C&C Renegade is the latest project to join the team at W3D Hub. Imperial Age aims to deliver dynamic gameplay with many new units, vehicles, and weapons. Some of its features include.... The current build has around 120 vehicles; 60 per team. This number is not including aircraft, naval units, Forgotten and neutral vehicles. Each vehicle has its own passive abilities and role to play. 20+ maps, each with their own unique way of playing. Some maps are best suited to open vehicle combat, others may see good choke-points to build barricades and place minefields, while some may feature hazards such as quicksand! Research and upgrade terminals to improve your team's vehicles and weaponry. On maps with Construction Yards, you can restore base structures depending on costs. Vehicles have weak points, and in some instances you may even land critical hits. Faster paced gameplay than Vanilla Renegade. Check out the announcement topic right here. More details about Imperial Age are expected soon. -

The server will be available on Saturday, January 30th for organised games and again on Sunday, January 31st for general marathon games. You will need to sign up for the organised games though. Click here for more details.

This weeks edition of Throwback Thursday goes back to C&C Renegade in 2002. Early in the game, Havoc disobeys orders and decides to "liberate" a Hovercraft, basically stealing it. This cut-scene provides one of the cooler and more memorable parts of the single player campaign, as we get to see a screenshot from the the first Commando mission in the original Command & Conquer. This screenshot then morphs into the 3D world that is C&C Renegade. Remember, you can click on the preview above to see a larger and more detailed image. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #ThrowbackThursday, #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

For Throwback Thursday this week I thought it would be interesting to look back at the origins of Renegade X. Back when it was actually called Renegade 2007 and it was only a total conversion mod for Unreal Tournament 3. The Renegade 2007 name never lasted that long of course, by early 2008 the "X" was in and "2007" was out. And through these past 7 or so years, Its amazing to see how far this project has come. To see how it has changed in terms of visuals and sounds, the ever evolving style of gameplay, the innovative features added to make it just as good (perhaps better) as other modern FPS games, the much needed switch to becoming a stand alone game. And don't forget the forget the Black Dawn single player release either. But every game has to start somewhere and when it was Renegade 2007 it wowed the community back then, just as it's still doing today as Renegade X! The true spiritual successor to Westwood Studios' C&C Renegade. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

Another week has gone by, its Thursday again, so that means its time for another edition of Throwback Thursday. This week we go back to the early days of Command & Conquer Renegade from 2002. Technically we are going further back than that, back to a time when C&C Renegade was called C&C Commando. And Havoc didn't look like Havoc. Westwood's first design for Havoc was outrageously different to what ended up being in the game. The first Havoc was more punk rock looking, with his spiky hair, dark face paint around his eyes, and his tattoos. Because tattoos equal toughness I guess. I'm glad Westwood came up with a better looking Havoc. But the original Havoc design was not lost. He was basically recycled and became another character called Logan. His only role in entire game was to take you through the training course at the start of the Renegade single player campaign. And then he's never heard from again. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.
