Malevolence 6 Posted March 19, 2009 If you are surfing now and posting then its pretty normal. At least it wasn't as bad as the previous encounter with lots of 503s and couldn't access the site or long loading times. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 19, 2009 Has been forum been back to normal yet OR are you still making changes to the CNCNZ's website and forums? There are always changes, fixes and additions being made all the time. Some major, most are minor. I've tweaked some more settings in IP.Download manager, allowing only 1 simultaneous download per user. Like most of these situations its a case of monitoring it and relying on visitor feedback. Mighty BOB! 5 Posted March 19, 2009 As of yet during the process of adding the IP Downloads module I haven't run into any 503 errors or IP Driver errors. I guess I just browse at the wrong time of day for that. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted March 20, 2009 I have some minor problems today. Sometimes I wanna post on fast reply, it states there is some error and i appeared logout, and there are occasions when it just couldn't post on fast reply because of some authorization stuff. Right now its ok. I don't know its the site or my internet is screwed up. Share this post Link to post

Gren 0 Posted March 24, 2009 I just had the same thing... exact same message for the past 20 mins or so Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 25, 2009 Yeah earlier today the entire server was lagging hard. There was nothing I could do about it. The 500 Internal Service Error comes up because the server can't complete your request. Sometimes you will see the IPS Driver Error instead. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted March 25, 2009 Thank god its ok now. Damn, last night after playing Uprising I wanted to surf the boards and the site just screwed up with 500 and IPS thingy. Share this post Link to post

Sonic 295 Posted March 25, 2009 And IPS Driver Error is something than can't fixed by users. To keep it simple the IPS Driver Error means the forums loose contact with database. Everything is stored in what's called a MySQL database. When the server usage is high the IPS Driver Error may pop up, or you could see the 500 Internal Server Error, then again you may never anything but an error from your browser saying the page has timed out. Sonic 295 Posted April 4, 2009 You can only download 1 file at time from CNCNZ.com Downloads. When a current download is complete you may start another one. This change was made so people don't start multiple downloads or start batch downloads. Share this post Link to post

Sonic 295 Posted April 5, 2009 That's odd. No one else has reported this error. My only guess at this stage would be to go to the main forum index, scroll down to the bottom the patch and click on the "Delete cookies set by this board" link. You may need to login in. Then try to download a file. Share this post Link to post
VampireA05 0 Posted April 5, 2009 nope. not working. in fact, i formatted my hd - virus, yes - a week ago & i did try BEFORE formatting it, same message appear. i tried from other PC at other location few weeks ago, same message appear. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted April 5, 2009 I just tested downloading a file using a standard member account like yours. The first download worked, it completed. I started a second download and it worked fine as well. So I can't understand why it won't let you download anything. Anyone else getting this problem. Would be good if someone else could test it. Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 9, 2009 His IP is probably caught in a log file somewhere. Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted April 9, 2009 There's a database table which manages all download sessions. If the problem persists (of having errors), and this is indeed due to file downloads, then it is the location where files are stored. Depending on whether it is a URL, a public-readable location or some folder on the server which is not available from outside, the data is sent differently. The current setup requires all file contents to pass through PHP, while a direct link can be handled by Apache (and causes less load). Unfortunately, that enables "rogue" downloads from other sites. Sonic 295 Posted April 10, 2009 His IP is probably caught in a log file somewhere. None of the downloads are logged. That's the default setting for IP.Downloads. I see no point in logging individual downloads at all. There's a database table which manages all download sessions. Assuming I'm interpreting the settings correctly, all download sessions are cleared every six hours I think. Share this post Link to post
G Daddy 2 Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) Is anyone else having trouble getting the main page to load in IE8 lately? I've had the same problem on multiple computers, even fresh installs, vista and w7, haven't tried XP yet. It loads as far down as the row with the twitter link, then stops. The background is present. It says done, with this error. Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; InfoPath.2) Timestamp: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 11:44:30 UTC Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917) Line: 0 Char: 0 Code: 0 URI: http://cncnz.com/ Compatibility mode makes no difference to the problem, but then I've never needed that enabled for cncnz.com. If I recall correctly last time it loaded fine in IE8 the top news article was the C&C95 1.06b patch, if that helps. Edited April 16, 2009 by G Daddy Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted April 16, 2009 After some testing and code tweaking I believe I've fixed the error. I always seem to be fixing so things work in IE. Use Firefox, so much better. Anyway, I only have IE7 installed but I was getting the same problem. I recently added the Lightbox 2 code for image displaying. You can see the Lightbox in action right now by viewing an image in the gallery. EG http://www.cncnz.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-2008, once the page loads click on the preview image, the page will darken and the large image will load. Part of the Lightbox 2 code uses what is called Prototype JavaScript Framework. It was specifically the "prototype.js" file causing the problems in IE7 and IE8. The "prototype.js" file has been updated to a new version that is basically IE friendly so it should be all good now. You might need to clear IE temporary internet files before getting the updated code etc..... Share this post Link to post
G Daddy 2 Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) Yes that's fixed it, it's loading fine now. Thanks! Edited April 16, 2009 by G Daddy Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) I get an IPS Driver Error when I try to view online members by last click down in the board statistics at the bottom of the forums. Interestingly I don't get the error when I try to view them by member name. -edit- okay now 20 minutes later the problem is gone. Edited May 7, 2009 by Mighty BOB! Share this post Link to post
