Unofficial Command & Conquer 95 v1.06b Patch Released

Recommended Posts

Its not very often we get to post news about the classic Command & Conquer games. For this update we are going back to where it all began, the original Command & Conquer. Nyerguds has released v1.06b of his Unofficial Command & Conquer 95 Patch. This patch is compatible with both The First Decade and the CD version of C&C95. That includes the C&C95 ISOs which EA has released. When the patch is installed on a First Decade installation, it will automatically enable the game's ini-controlled no-CD mode. The patch includes several program bug fixes, graphics updates, mission fixes and new features, like the advanced options in conquer.ini, and a 1024x768 high resolution mode accessible through CCSetup.exe.

More information and the download can be found here. If you would like to get your hands on the original Command & Conquer, a list of mirrors is available with links to download the ISOs.

Update: Revision 1 of the Unofficial Command & Conquer 95 v1.06b Patch is now available. It fixes problems with the winter theatre used in the Ground Zero mission, and fixes some more minor issues, like the fact that Funpark save games always asked for the Nod CD.

It's a surprise of a new unofficial patch of the first C&C game!

btw is it just me that I realize this period's updates are starting to die down?

This patch rocks. Really good work Nyerguds!

Edit:

About the known graphic glitches when playing on a map which is smaller than 1024x768... couldn't that be solved by editing the map and making it bigger, filling the edges with impassable terrain?

Oh, for those who can't be bothered to reinstall C&C95 for this, a stand-alone version is offered on the site too. That's a full C&C95 game install, at version 1.06b, with all music included, and playable without CD. All that's missing are the movies, and if you got the CDs, you can still play it from your CD simply by disabling the NoCd mode in conquer.ini :)

Yes, except for the fact that if you then play in low res you can scroll out of the map...

It's on the patch site... right below the actual patch download. Not that hard, is it? The link to the patch site is in the first post.

As for how to use isos, well, you either use Nero or something to write the CD images to CDs, or you mount the CD images with a virtual CD Drive tool like Daemon Tools.

For C&C95, you can perfectly mount both the GDI and Nod ISOs at the same time, and the game will choose the CD it needs whenever it tries to show a video.
