Sonic 293 Posted June 20, 2009 A recent EA survey, sent out to an unknown number of C&C fans, has strongly suggested that the next C&C (possibly C&C 4) could be an "RPG-like player progression, persistent in both single player and Multiplayer modes, co-op play, and new stylized, live-action cinematics". This survey later goes on to say that this game could possibly be an "epic conclusion to the 15-year series". It then asks fans if they found the possibility of a conclusion to C&C appealing. The survey then continues with more questions that covers what fans would like to see in future C&C games. recover 2 Posted June 20, 2009 All I can say is: hmm.... And "a new scriptwriting team"? Don't say they've brought in some hotshot who will try to tell us his own interpretation. Share this post Link to post
[NE]Fobby[GEN] 10 Posted June 20, 2009 I'm not really willing to play an RPG game or MMORPG of any sort. I've always been an FPS, RTS, and RTS/FPS (Renegade) guy. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted June 21, 2009 Then don't ****ing buy it. Sheesh. Share this post Link to post
Troopzor 5 Posted June 21, 2009 Then don't ****ing buy it. Sheesh. What a very unnecessary flame >.> Also, I'm not gonna lie, this actually sounds pretty interesting.... I just hope this whole "Mobile base" thing dosent work like DoW2, just with the single main building thing being able to move around. That would really piss me off. Share this post Link to post
Wee_Ooh 0 Posted June 21, 2009 Wow, that sounds pretty awesome. I'm always up for something new. I hope they pull it off. >_> Share this post Link to post
Wildshield 0 Posted June 21, 2009 experience points for upgrading would be a cool upgrade. This could let extra thought into what your army could flower into. Share this post Link to post
jamhaw5 0 Posted June 21, 2009 I haven't seen minority report so I can't say for sure but I'm not real sure about this stylised FMV's I would prefer if the last game in the C&C universe would use more traditional FMV's. I don't like the sound of MMORPG leveling up either. Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted June 21, 2009 As a side venture, I'd be willing to test this out. In light of Tiberium, I'd be interested in this FPS/RPG hybrid ... sure sounds interesting. As the future of C&C RTS, I'd be very upset. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 293 Posted June 21, 2009 Perhaps EALA are resurrecting the old C&C Continuum project that Westwood started. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 21, 2009 Closing the series, nooo.. I demand to play C&C 12! I'll give this a go no doubt. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 293 Posted June 21, 2009 Some of you guys are jumping the gun with this news I think. I've read some comments about this news on other sites like the Official C&C Forums and Planet CNC, and everyone thinks this is like an announcement of a new game or something. Its a random survey sent out to an undetermined amount of people asking for their feedback. Perhaps it indicates how the future of the franchise may pan out but for now take with a grain of salt. Repeat after me..... its only survey, not a new game. Share this post Link to post
Wee_Ooh 0 Posted June 21, 2009 Repeat after me..... its only survey, not a new game. Its only survey, not a new game... But...if they were to implement even some of those things in the next CnC game, I think it would be cool. I've always loved RTS games, even when I was little, but I've always thought that they needed something new, even if it was just a gimmick. Share this post Link to post
ORCaLoVeR 0 Posted June 21, 2009 A closure of the serie? common I always wanted to have a decent ending of the Tiberium war Guess i'll never be able to see another C&C game anymore with the same epic story value as Tiberian sun/red alert Or the dreams of a Ressurction of TIBERIUM or a C&C FPS Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted June 21, 2009 A possible C&C closure.. and it could be an MMO? Oh dear... Share this post Link to post
Guest Stevie_K Posted June 21, 2009 Dive into an all-new story written by a new scriptwriting team Im not sure if that one is going to work, but the whole thing sounds very interresting. Yeah, I could picture the immense addiction it would be. My already huge addiction to RTS's mixed with the undodgeable addiction to mmorpgs. It's gonna be like serious drugs dude! They could score fans, money and even prices if they dare to do it, and if they are successful with something rather untraditional like this. But for the sake of C&C, don't release a half finished project. For your own sake also. Great games sells even 5-10 years later. [but leave the whole monthly payment thing to blizzard thank you] oh... and Cabal you naughty little cpu,.. I miss u <3 please brainwash the new writers and sneak back into the storyline.. At least speak to me while I command Nod Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 289 Posted June 21, 2009 [but leave the whole monthly payment thing to blizzard thank you] Indeed. An unbreakable Nmenth rule, I will never pay for my games more than once. Share this post Link to post
Wee_Ooh 0 Posted June 22, 2009 [but leave the whole monthly payment thing to blizzard thank you] Definitely. I can't afford to pay for my game every month. Share this post Link to post
Guest Stevie_K Posted June 22, 2009 yeah, I can trust them with my money It's not about trust.. It's about being greedy. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 22, 2009 Its not about greed, its about getting what you pay for. Those monthly subscriptions are there to keep the servers running, making sure everyone is looked after, and adding additional content. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 289 Posted June 22, 2009 Those monthly subscriptions are there to keep the servers running, making sure everyone is looked after, and adding additional content. That's what they'd like you to think. Some games (not C&C) have always been free online and still got good service. Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted June 22, 2009 Hmm, I wouldn't mind a conclusion to the the Saga of Tiberium, but it absolutely has to have a grand scale and a long story. There are a lot of plot points from TD/TS/TW that need to be wrapped up. Seriously, they should do some research before making "first ever" claims. If I've interpreted the "class system" thing correctly, then I wouldn't like that if they went with it. I see they're thinking of bumping up the multiplayer limit to 10 players. Objective-based gameplay sounds like a good addition to regular game types but I wouldn't want it to completely replace them, having none of the regular types. I never saw Minority report, but they did use the word gritty, and I would take that over RA3 any day of the week. The return of a co-op campaign would be a good thing, but you shouldn't be forced to play with an ally (by which I mean the AI). You should have the option of going in completely alone. Having to cover for an idiot AI teammate is just an RTS version of the escort mission and I hate escort missions. Share this post Link to post
BioBen 3 Posted June 23, 2009 If they were to make the end of the series then i wouldn't mind spending more than normal for a truly epic game. Share this post Link to post
