chitzkoi 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Well i have noticed some people complaining about how ugly the games graphics look and I'm just curious to your opinions, should they change C&C4's graphics? I love graphics and all the little details, but when it comes down to it, it is and foremost the gameplay that counts. Everytime 'looks great but isn't fun' well that would blow wouldn't it? haha I don't mind the graphics, they look a little better than TW/KW. Same engine I hear but it still looks like a small improvement Though I can't really tell from screenshots I need to play it or atleast see a gameplay video cranked What do you think Volp? Peace! Peace! agree, gameplay is what I look for in a game. with such a powerful engine for this game, graphics should be a no brainer. Music and Story should also blow you away for the stats it takes to run this game. I want flow in what everthing is doing, balance to each unit and some role for it to be in the game. Give me replay value and let me know that the money buying this game was worth spending. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted August 10, 2009 As long as EALA don't overuse the blooming effect to "enhance" visual experience I'm alright with it. Share this post Link to post
Malovolpe 3 Posted August 10, 2009 in my opinion its gameplay over graphics, i see no need to improve the graphics at all. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted August 10, 2009 I think its different issues here. You open this thread asking on C&C4 graphics, and now you are talking about gameplay. Wut? Share this post Link to post
Malovolpe 3 Posted August 10, 2009 im asking for peoples opinions on if the graphics need improvement or not, i stated my opinion and gave my reason basically Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted August 10, 2009 im asking for peoples opinions on if the graphics need improvement or not, i stated my opinion and gave my reason basically Relax, please don't be alarm. Not trying to scare you or something crazy. I know gameplay > visuals, but lets bring the focus to "Visual Talks Only" thread. Share this post Link to post
Malovolpe 3 Posted August 10, 2009 alright sorry xD another reason though is if the graphics are not very different from C&C3 when i would be able to play it cause my computer is outdated XD Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted August 10, 2009 I agree with gameplay over graphics, so I voted "Not sure." I don't like some of the unit designs, but that's kinda different from how good the visuals look. I think they look fine aside from a lack of environmental effects. We'll see if those effects get added in, but I have my doubts. Share this post Link to post
Silverthorn 0 Posted August 10, 2009 It needs to improve, I just see it does reminds me of C&C3 Tiberium Wars, nothing special. It's best they should make the environment a lot darker like in Firestorm. I don't care if the war is 15 years after Kane goes to GDI HQ & Tiberium is finally under control. I just want something purely new, not something recycled and purely re-done for a sequel game. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted August 10, 2009 At this stage they are fine. To early to judge them though. Share this post Link to post
cnc_sage 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Hopefully they'll cut down on the heat distortion. IMHO it was exhagerated in TW. Share this post Link to post
chitzkoi 0 Posted August 10, 2009 The heat distortion was cool And yes, they need to add more environment in the maps! I know these are just test screen shots or whatever, but I played TW/TW a lot, and I don't remember any trees or any grass, or any snow. I remember a lot of tib veins and lots of rocks haha. Make some new things for us to enjoy EA Flora and fauna baby Share this post Link to post
Johnnyxp64 20 Posted August 11, 2009 too early but i would like to be improved even more Share this post Link to post
HOPE1134 28 Posted August 12, 2009 the graphics are fine. i just want EA to improve the gameplay, thats it Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted August 12, 2009 Graphically, the engine holds itself rather well. Gameplay (as others have said) is the most important factor. But if we are to touch on Graphics, I'd prefer they be done in the area of polish. Just small details that really attempt to bring the world alive, without the need to sacrifice too much PC power. Minute details on units and structures. Different destruction and idle animations, slight variations in the atmosphere presented etc. The list goes on and on with what can be done. Tiberian Sun, despite being the worst ever C&C for game crippling bugs upon release was awash with little details, lighting, animations and the like. They even went as far to name civilian buildings after the developers. Even the sounds that went into the game gave the sense of a living breathing world. The graphics weren't too impressive, and a lot of the tilesets were rather dull to say the least. But the polish that went into it still makes that game seem rather fresh despite the ageing graphics. I think if the small touches, ambiance, atmosphere, and even the soundtrack can give a sense of a real living world... who cares what it's like graphically? Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted August 12, 2009 I think it still looks a bit bland, and I'd like to have smoother graphics - can't we do something with better anti-aliasing instead of all those ragged transition lines? Share this post Link to post
crazyIVAN99 0 Posted August 14, 2009 gfx shud be a little better, but as the development continues, the screens will certainly look more polished. I WOULD like to see the camera a little zoomed out though......gives u a better perspective -- the zoom level on the near side is just a little too in your face. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted August 14, 2009 Your judging the game on the first round of screen shots. And here's the secret about these screen shots. They are all especially set up, they are not just taken randomly. Share this post Link to post

They are all especially set up, they are not just taken randomly. That ain't a secret. And that's exactly why those images are fair to judge. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted August 14, 2009 Fair enough, but they will improve (visually) as development time rolls on. Go back and look at the first batch of C&C 3 and RA 3 screen shots, they were the same. Especially the C&C 3 ones. Share this post Link to post

They can improve as long as they don't overdo those blooming effects and the the cartoonish effects. It kinda ruin the whole look. Share this post Link to post
Silverthorn 0 Posted August 15, 2009 Moreover, I think it's best they rather make the environment just like Firestorm, full of Tiberium flora & fauna and so are the veinhole monsters, Tiberium creatures, etc.. EA failed to create the fiend in C&C3, but The Forgotten mod created it. A 3D version of Firestorm and also by EA is still the recommended choice. If you just be yourself and draw other things other than Westwood's Firestorm environment, you're truly lost, like I, Brett & Adam said, you will ruin the franchise after merging our Westwood. Guest Stevie_K Posted August 16, 2009 Imagine how weird this must be for the guys who made C&C in the beginning. Would like to hear their opinion on these new features. Share this post Link to post
