Because they need to add the logo at the bottom, and smooth the screenshot a little bit (because in-game anti-aliasing isn't that great). That's it AFAIK.

I'm liking how the atmospherics have improved since they released those snow screenshots. I'm now liking however, how the infantry are almost two stories tall when compared with the civilian structures.

These screenies look 100 times better than the first ones they released. :)

I agree completely.

That's because they have been working on the game. Things improve as time moves on. But yeah they do look really great!

wow, some interesting new designs there.

Is there more information anywhere about the units in the screenshots?

love the beefed up mammy tank, I'd pick that over a mastadon any day!

love the shield/disrupter heavy gdi tank

love the small gdi plane/helicopter/orca variant

like the nod spider infantry unit - is that a firestorm reaver?

love the shield - do you think it's a firestorm?

love the nod cyborgs with missile launchers for hands - i feel like I'm in a Japanese cyber-punk battle

don't like the stubby juggernaught...

don't like the gdi infantry so far

unimpressed by the big gdi plane... looks like a bomber but it's firing from just a gatling gun!?!?! (screen24)

in screen 28, is that a nod turret, or a one-legged mech with a gun for a foot?

The mammoth tank looks much better than the one in C&C 3 , in my opinion. Doesn't look like something I'd want to see against me on the battlefield.

The GDI plane reminds me of an A-10, which is awesome. :P

Cyborg Reaper, baby! I'm going to be using that one a lot!

They did mention some4thing about a shield generator that the defense class could build in the last Q&A session, but they didn't mention firestorm. That would be a cool twist if it is a firestorm generator.

Those Nod rocket launcher guys look very impressive. Good way to give a new look to the classic rocket launcher unit.

I don't really like the Juggernaut, either. It's not very impressive for an artillery unit. >_>

Looks to me like all the GDI infantry look like zone troopers. I don't really mind, but it's kind of boring. But they'll all look the same once my Black Hand are done with them, anyway. :P

Still love that Obelisk of Light. I'm sort of obsessive about my Obelisks. I think it goes back to when I was a kid and I played through the Nod campaign in C&C 95 just so I could build an Obelisk of Light. And I was deathly afraid of them when I was playing as GDI.

Sorry if I'm rambling, I'm really tired. X_x

Maybe they should upgrade the product with better graphics instead of photoshopping images to enhance looks to lure customers.

On second glance, the infantry units scale is all wrong. They are way to big.

And the jugg's cannons aren't long enough, it looks kinda weird. The flame tank I see has been modified, it still doesn't look right to me though. Should just use the model from C&C3.

LOL. Its got a gun for a foot. :P

If you view it at the full size, you can see the other leg partially revealed from behind the gun I believe.

Still I cannot be sure that's an updated graphic, correct me with some comparisons. Because right now I felt the recent screenshots still looks like back in C&C3 or KW. I think. My eyes can be a little rusty for graphics comparison, not like the time when RA3's graphics were completely 100% different from C&C3's, easy answer from that, because RA3 is a bright universe against Tiberium's dark universe. But the graphics in C&C4 is it a little the same as C&C3's? It may not be 100% complete as I'm sure, but once the many months pass, it'll be finalized.

Updated all the new screen shots to clean/watermark free versions.

Silverthorn: The shadows are less pixelated, the ground textures are much, much sharper, and the water/dust/smoke effects are very detailed. So there is improvement, even if subtle.

Well I like the look of Nod's Infantry units, the look of the Mammoth Tank reminds me of the Mammoth from C&C Tiberian Dawn. The Shepard Tank looks very cool, and the Air Units look awesome. I am definitely looking forward to this game even more.

Some of unit designs look very cartoonish, and from other RTS design influence...

However, i must say i am impressed with the aircraft designs of GDI

The smaller plane seems to be a stronger version of a venom, sporting 2 Heavy cannons.I like this.I love this!

The bigger one seems to be an orca bomber! Or a variant of it. I think it might be a Close Air support plane, armed with a vulcan cannon, and i think those are rocket pods.... But they also could be bombs

+1 for the aircraft designs(Nod ones also look good

+1 for some ground units

-5 for those rocket walkers thing.......They could have been a little more realistic with it

For now, i'm still not completly attracted...The unit population is still a bitter pill to swallow...and the whole crawler thing replacing everything is still..

I think, that C&C4, will be an RTS wich will attract people more from other RTS communities.

So far, its looking very good on some things, and still bad on other things. But hey, its still a WIP..

+great lighting

+some air-unit design

+visual effects like lasers and smoke and engine's heat

+better maps/doodads

-very very low polygons, ok Blizzard style but hey take a look at sc2 not Wow3 we are in 2010!

-very foolish "cartoon like" huge upgrades-design! take a look at the Earth 2150 upgrade system wasnt THAT huge

-low polygons.....again!!!

-the annoying cloud is still here and make the map not "atmospheric" but low in visibility!

-i hate since generals times that the building feel like they are floating on the ground cause they have not surrounding textures to match the terrain! only the shadow and they feel just "not belonging there"

we need a game-play video APOC!!! plz do something! we have to take a look on some of the animations so far! ;-)

I think they look fine, a few things could do with a tweak I'll admit, but I'm just not seeing what you guys are seeing. Everything looks good to me.

Maybe we should not think of the infantry as zone trooper suits, but Gundam armoured suits... or whatever they are called.

:)

(Hands bandaid to Mighty Bob... asks the obvious question... "Does that Butter Knife in the eye hurt as much as it looks?")

If I had meant the eye I would have said the eye. :P

As much as certain people might want to deny it, C&C started being scifi after Tiberian Dawn (or even arguably during TD itself), and one of the founding tenants of scifi is adhering to logic and laws of nature. You can break laws with far-fetched stuff if you do it in a plausible fashion, but the over-the-top unit designs (primarily the proportions or functionality of some units, especially proportions of the infantry, both against the environment, but also against their own bodies) blatantly disregard that.
