What will happen to epic units?

Recommended Posts

I've been thinking, what will happen to epic units in Twilight?

Will MARV be phase out because GDI High Council favor Mastadon?

What Nod gonna do with Redemeer? to guard Temple Prime ruins?

Do Scrin gonna use Hexapod as main strike force?

Or the Forgotten gonna pick up all the junks & construct their own epic unit?

I doubt there will be any mention of epic units in the game. There aren't any in gameplay at least.

well, thats the problem. they didnt mention a thing about epic units. or the face the same fate as mutants, ion storm, visceroids etc.. as in C&C3

There's no Scrin in this game yet.

They won't be there, simply really.

Could you really see something as massive as the MARV being deployed from a GDI Crawler?

The epic units was a sales stunt for KW. Nothing more.

so, its got nothing to do with C&C lore?

Not that I know of, but who knows what is really canon or significant these days...

Not necessarily. In C&C3, the Database entries were full of references to units and technologies from Tiberian Sun (e.g., the entry on the disbanding of the Mammoth Mk. II); C&C4 might have similar entries.

I wouldn't say full, maybe a few... And it certainly didn't cover all of the inconsistencies. It was more like an afterthought really...

I quite liked the idea behind the intel database. Its a pitty that EA didn't quite run with it.

Renegade's version was 1000 times better.

If they could make it nicer to look at rather than a tiny box of monochrome text, include more relevant details (not some obscure commander's personal thoughts), and avoid continuity errors, it would be a good thing to have in C&C4.

yeah the data base was a nice touch, and it would be nice for ea to tie same of the games together so that way we can see how they got from point A to point C. it would be nice too see this come about as a animation or a book. now that would be cool

very likey they removed this idea moved on with MVC (it like epic unit but it builds units)

I don't think EALA has by any interest to bring back all epic units from C&C3 KW, all but the Mastodon.

The Epic Units were a feature (selling point) for Kane's Wrath. The Mastodon in C&C 4 is not an "epic unit". It's powerful but not gaming changing like the Kane's Wrath epic units.

I dont think they will make the last part something good, because they leave all the epic units out. Just like they throw out the base building.

Epic units where a sales stunt. Base building was the very core of the game.
