Sonic 293 Posted January 5, 2010 Everyone loves interviews with Joe Kucan, the actor behind PC gamings most enigmatic villain - Kane. But you guys already know who he is anyway. NowGamer recently posted their interview with him that covers Joe's history with the franchise and Westwood Studios. It then goes on to speak about Kane's master plan in Command & Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight. Here is part of the article. Once again Kane will be taking centre stage in C&C4, with a tale that sees him uneasily allied with the GDI to rid the world of Tiberium before tensions lead to a final decisive war. The part of the campaign is actually entitled ‘The Men who Killed Kane’ and it feels very much like amid all battles and world ending carnage C&C4 will be a very personal story between Kane and the player. “It’s funny that you’ve picked up on that, “says Kucan,” because we’ve taken a great leap with that in this new game. The story has become much more personal and the player really becomes a confidant - the camera is really the players perspective and it walks, moves and reacts to people. We really treat it as a character.” While C&C4 is proving to be genre-changing in its gameplay mechanics, for many fans the impetus for mastering C&C4's new RTS/RPG hybrid approach will be as much about getting all the answers to the mysteries surrounding Kane as it is about playing the game. Will we finally find out what it’s all been about after 15 long years? “I really do think that there’s a very careful touch being applied to it,” Kucan promises,” some questions are being overtly answered and some are being left open to debate.” Check out the full Joseph D Kucan interview right here. Jarzka 1 Posted January 5, 2010 I would like to know what Joe thinks about all the criticism C&C4 has got. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 39 Posted January 5, 2010 I would like to know what Joe thinks about all the criticism C&C4 has got. Me too. Otherwise most of the CNC community and most veteran C&C players have left Kane and the Brotherhood, leaving him with lesser fans. Share this post Link to post
Silverthorn 0 Posted January 5, 2010 Don't worry, we will remain fans with him as well as Nod, but for the game wise, I don't think so. I remember when Joe directs during the Westwood days, he did a very good job, I prefer him as a director rather than Richard Taylor, not a big fan of him anyways. Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted January 5, 2010 (edited) Kane = Old man I'm worried about the parts of the story they deliberately aren't addressing, because after this the C&C team will be warped, so I'm not sure if these intentional gaps in the story will ever be filled. Luk3us 63 Posted January 6, 2010 They don't have to address everything, just the core issues. I demand that Kane receive his own spin off game! Because YOU CAN'T KILL THE MESSIAH! Share this post Link to post

Mighty BOB! 5 Posted January 6, 2010 They don't have to address everything, just the core issues. Problem is, I'm sure EA's definition of core issue is not the same as ours, meaning some of the "important stuff" is going to be left unexplained. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted January 6, 2010 Apoc's Pink Ponies vs Kane's Tiberian Monsters I would so buy that Share this post Link to post

Taylor does not direct the CnC4 FMVs. And they're supposed to be a lot better than Taylor's. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 39 Posted January 6, 2010 Apoc's Pink Ponies vs Kane's Tiberian Monsters LOL. How about Kane's Revenge? Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted January 7, 2010 Apoc's Pink Ponies vs Kane's Tiberian Monsters I wish to hear the fate of Director Boyle after the events of C&C3. Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted January 7, 2010 I wish to hear the fate of Director Boyle after the events of C&C3. Yes and if this happens to be one of the things they intentionally don't include, you may never know. Share this post Link to post
jamhaw5 0 Posted January 7, 2010 I doubt that we will ever here of Boyle's fate since there were two possible endings there and so I expect that they will simply leave it alone. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted January 7, 2010 Going on past experience, EA will go with the Good guy ending for GDI, wherein you don't use the bomb, and Boyle resigns or whatever. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) I hope EALA writers will give a proper confirmation in the beginning of the C&C4 game that which ending did they pick up on, it can be brief, but I think its necessary. Edited January 7, 2010 by Malevolence Share this post Link to post
Silverthorn 0 Posted January 7, 2010 Taylor does not direct the CnC4 FMVs. And they're supposed to be a lot better than Taylor's. Hmm, I really wonder. Share this post Link to post
