Was the story good?

Recommended Posts

Just asking, was the story good? I haven't bought the game yet bu i am thinking about it and the story is what i really want it for, so is it good? Is it a good conclusion to the story of Kane and tiberium? No spoilers please...

The story is average AT BEST, terrible at worst. The conclusion is, well its not a conclusion at all.

So I'd give the story for C&C4 a big 3.5/10.

You want to know the story but you don't want spoilers. That could be difficult.

I also bought the game for the story mostly and that is - I guess - why I am even more disappointed with the game than I was before already.

Personally I don't think iti s worth buying for the story, especially since the most interesting parts (at least you can guess the more important story parts from them) were already in the trailers.

Well, the only thing that could save C&C4's story - and as far as I am concerened the whole game - (but highly unlikely) would be an EPIC - and though used a bit sarcastic; this would be what is really needed though (in the best case with gameplay changes; hence, why I said unlikely) Addon (or even DLC).

But if you ask me the best would be to discard the whole game like it never existed and create a REAL(, EPIC) finale to Kane's story (those who bought that C&C4 maybe should then get a discount on the "real" one) BUT the likelyhood of that happening is probably 0.

(Of course, this is my personal opinion)

it's sad but I will never ever buy C&C4, and that's only because I love the first two games so very very much. I blame EA and capitalism for ruining the franchise!

the real sequels will be developed first after the revolution (as will the real Fallout 3).

What's wrong with Fallout 3? I thought that was one of the best newer games for consoles.

: ( it's very similar too EAs CNC3 in that way that it continously disregards canon and that the developer (beth$oft) have no clue whatsover about what the previous games were all about.

if Fallout 3 was the best newer game for consoles it tells alot about how bad other console games really are.

I think this thread is getting quite pointless. Perhaps the mods should close this thread and we can start a new thread to scrutinize the official story when you guys feel the mood to talk about it.

I'm right here with you. Barely any interesting characters, not much point for trading, unimpressive animations, missed opportunities, too many small locations scattered across the map, a story that cannibalizes both F1 and F2, sluggish FPS controls etc. I midlly enjoyed it for around 20 hours, but it's really not a good example of either console or RPG gaming.

There are still great console games- GTAIV+DLC comes to mind, Assassin's Creed 2, Pure, Rythm games, Red Dead Redemption and Mafia II come soon...

Oh and Mass Effect 2. Which I played on the PC, but is great nonetheless.

As for CnC4's story, I've only seen the FMVs, and, while not terrible, there's not much plot to speak of; very short, rather uneventful.
