How do you set up a TCP/IP network game in RA2/YR. There's options for and IPX connection, but the box and manual say TCP/IP??? :?: :?:

what is it you want to know?

to set the TCP/IP

go to options / network options

look for the box that says TCP/IP inside should be the long code

alter this and head back into the network lobby

you may have to randomly select one and keep trying but dont worry there are only a few

to find the lobby

multiplayer -> network -> new game

if you need any other info about this just ask

RA2 does need IPX/SPX for network. It's strange, I know, but the TCP/IP is for internet play, not for the network. I've had problems with this myself, and I can only play 2 out of 3 computers from my network, one of them refuses to work.

Go to:

  • Control Panel

[*]Network

[*]Click on Add

[*]Click on Protocol, then Add

[*]Microsoft (even though Microsoft did not create most of the protocols listed in this section)

[*]IPX/SPX compatible protocol

[*]click OK

[*]you may need to reboot here

[*]Click on IPX/SPX compatible protocol, then Properties

[*]go to advanced and change the frame type to Ethernet II (it doesn't really matter, but all PCs should be set the same.)

this varies somewhat between the different versions of Windows.

when you click on Network and it brings you back to the main screen you need to Install the West Wood components during installation....
