Gran Turismo 5 Finally Has Confirmed Release Date

Recommended Posts

Looks like the long awaited Gran Turismo 5 actually a confirmed release date now. Kotaku says Nov 24th for North America, and its the same for NZ and Aussie.

So who is planning on getting this one? I've pre-ordered, might as well make use of the PS3.

Not the "realistic" type, no. I like silly **** like Mario Kart so there ya go.

Indeed. Racing is pretty boring... until you add heat-seeking missiles (red shells) and mines (banana peels).

Working my way through the new GT5. As I mentioned in the other thread, there is a lot to take in in this game. Yeah is just racing cars. But it looks great. So I thought I'd share these 2 screen shots... well photo I took from the game....

One of the premium DLC cars you get the with Collectors Edition. The Shelby Cobra 427 Chrome Line Edition

GT series is overhyped and over now... There was no real reason for the delays I feel.. and the credits rolled half way through the game... "WTF!" doesn't even cover it.

You want a real racing game.. Get Shift 2.... Don't let the "Need for Speed" Tag fool you... Slightly mad studios who make the game were old devs at SimBin... Who of course have done the GTR PC racing games in times gone by.

Not just about clean cut physics Shift ain't... it's about visceral racing, proper realism of being a driver... not just about what the car can give you. Shift still stands as one of my favourite racing sims (when you jack up the realism)

I've got the Shift 2 Limited Edition on Pre-order to pick up this Friday, and I doubt I'll get rid... I regret selling the original as it is!

I got Need for Speed Shift for free when I bought my PS3, might use that to get my racing car fix.

Colin McRae's Dirt can also be highly recommended if your'e into rally racing. Haven't tried Dirt 2 though.

NFS has already gone down two distinct lines: on one hand, you have the GT-esque Shift, which is for all you realistic racing sim nuts, while the other line was the arcade line (highlights would include Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit). Really, GT has been a snore recently, although GT 1-3 did take a huge chunk of my time in the past. I'm all for realism, but when you want to have fun, getting chased by cops is better then driving the "right way" to get a license. >:D
