Inferno 22 Posted January 28, 2011 They should just call it "Call of Duty: Same Old Recycled ****" and be done with it. But the CoD fans will eat it up and happily hand over their cash for essentially the same game they purchased 12 months earlier. Who are you and what did you do to Sonic Share this post Link to post
Plok 321 Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) I impatiently await Duke Nukem Forever. It's released in Europe a day after my birthday Man, who would've thought we'll actually PLAY it? Edited January 29, 2011 by Plokite_Wolf Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted January 29, 2011 I won't actually believe it until I have the DVD in my computer and hte game is RUNNING... Still PLENTY of time for it to be postponed, or whatever. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted January 30, 2011 Talking about COD, while its really obvious that the series has been milked over and over again, what makes the series so popular isn't the same old game mechanism or boring shooting stuff, but its the storyline and cinematic and dramatic sequences that makes fans wanting more. I don't play this for the multiplayer, to be honest. And comparing with the recent C&C series, I guess what C&C dev team can learn is to make a good solid story plot if they want to milk the bloody series to begin with. Share this post Link to post

You're joking right? That's kind of like hiring drug dealers as staff at a rehab center. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted January 30, 2011 COD is all about multiplayer, that is why its so popular, you're missing out Mal. That being said, best to mute everyone on mic's when playing unless you like screeching morons. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted January 30, 2011 I'm not missing out. I don't care much for multiplayer when 99 percent of the people I play against will be ten to twelve years younger than I am. No thanks. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 294 Posted January 31, 2011 Hey. Hey. Hey. Shut up. Didn't mean to offend you or lump you in to the hardcore CoD fan boy group or anything like that. Who are you and what did you do to Sonic Just sick of seeing CoD everywhere. Even when I turn my Xbox 360 I see it, wanting me to buy there **** maps for a game I will never buy. I impatiently await Duke Nukem Forever. Semi-interested in Duke Nukem Forever. I will probably get it. The novelty factor draws me in more anything. If it turns out to be an updated version of the classic Duke Nukem 3D I'll be happy. Loved that old game. While on the subject of Duke Nukem. Here the twenty of his best quotes Your face. Your ass. What’s the difference? Hmm, don’t have time to play with myself. You’re and inspiration for birth control. Let god sort ‘em out. Nobody steals our chicks, and lives! Heh, heh, heh. What a mess! **** happens. Nukem ‘til they glow, then shoot ‘em in the dark! Oooooooh, that’s gotta hurt! It’s time to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I’m all out of gum! Eat **** and die! Shake it baby! Wanna dance? Die, you son of a bitch! Damn, those alien bastards are gonna pay for shooting up my ride! Nobody messes with my meat! Born to be wild! Suck it down! Let’s rock! I ain’t afraid of no quake! Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 290 Posted January 31, 2011 "Shake it baby!"? "Let’s rock!"? Is this Duke Nukem or Tanya? Share this post Link to post
Sonic 294 Posted January 31, 2011 Just noticed that list is missing "I'll rip of your head and **** down neck". Trust me Duke says them all. "Shake it baby!" was when he approached the dancing girls. "Let’s rock!" was usually at the start of each level I think. Share this post Link to post
rSquar3d 0 Posted February 4, 2011 What's with COD multiplay? It's just a reflex game. Whoever shoots first wins. That's how situations arise in COD. You rarely, if ever, hear of a single guy making a triple kill or higher and walking away alive. Unless he is one lucky bastard. Just a game of who reacts faster, period. And story? Pah. There are many games with great stories too. And some of these games have better gameplay too. > Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted February 4, 2011 All video games are reflex games to be fair, you're slow on the trigger in COD, you're dead. You'll slow building your pretty little base in a RTS, you're dead too, you just don't realise it till ten minutes later. Share this post Link to post
rSquar3d 0 Posted February 6, 2011 Ah, but you have heard of situations where things are turned around? (Or is it "tables are turned around?" I'm used to the Filipino term, "nabaliktad ang laro") COD offers little for those kinds of maneuvers... In RTS games, there are tactics, like buying time, that can change a slow start into a definite win. And that also works out in MMORPGs, like Guild Wars: be too fast, you lose; be too slow, you might still have a chance to win. > In COD, you don't get to think quick; just shoot quick. Less tactics in my opinion. I prefer Halo, where a momentary use of a powerup, or an equipment, can change a situation where you're getting ganked into you exterminating the would-be gankers. Same as in RTS; some tactics and units can pull off miracle recoveries, etc. Reflexes are necessary, but when it becomes the do-all or end-all of the game, it's just... Stupid.
