Anyone own Sole Survivor?

Recommended Posts

Me and a bunch of other people have been collecting music from old video games, capturing them in FLAC and archiving them for historical reasons, and for our own enjoyment.

We currently have all the official Command and Conquer soundtracks in FLAC loseless format... except for Sole Survivor.

We have only been able to find an .iso image for this game online, and the CD audio tracks are slightly corrupt on that version.

Would anyone who owns the game be willing to use Exact Audio Copy to copy the tracks to FLAC form and share them online for us?

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

The program is free. This would be MOST helpful. In return, we can share the other tracks that we have.

Hm, I got an original Sole Survivor CD, with the CD audio tracks, and I already made a FLAC rip of that. I could easily upload that for you.

Could you get me the FLAC versions of C&C1's "C&C Thang", "Rain In The Night" and "To Be Feared" though? I'm still missing those in FLAC, and despite my best efforts I never managed to get my hands on the actual soundtrack CD :(

Oh, if you're collecting C&C soundtracks, here's a hint... if you want more C&C1 music in FLAC format, try finding the isos of the Sega Saturn version of C&C1. It uses CD audio for all its music, and the GDI and Nod CD have a different set of tracks. They have some tracks that aren't on the soundtrack CD ;)

Full combined track list:

EVA - GDI Disc Detected

EVA - Nod Disc Detected

Frank Klepacki - Act On Instinct

Frank Klepacki - Air Strike

Frank Klepacki - Destructible Times (by I AM)

Frank Klepacki - Fight! Win! Prevail!

Frank Klepacki - Full Stop (Warfare)

Frank Klepacki - Great Shot!

Frank Klepacki - In The Line Of Fire

Frank Klepacki - Industrial

Frank Klepacki - Just Do It Up

Frank Klepacki - Looks Like Trouble

Frank Klepacki - Main Menu

Frank Klepacki - March To Doom

Frank Klepacki - No Mercy

Frank Klepacki - On The Prowl

Frank Klepacki - Prepare For Battle

Frank Klepacki - Radio

Frank Klepacki - Target (Mechanical Man)

Frank Klepacki - We Will Stop Them (Deception)

Joe Kucan - Kane Speech

I'll upload the Sole Survivor FLAC rip right away.

In the meantime, here's something else you might be interested in... the soundtrack of The Covert Operations. I uploaded that in FLAC format ages ago; the original DOS release of the Covert Ops has all music as CD audio :)

Note that a few of these tracks were also used in Sole Survivor.

I have those that you wanted. I might as well upload the full thing, I have the original C&C soundtrack.

I'll have to look into the other soundtracks. Most of mine are from pure audio CD's, I've got Red Alert, Red Alert 2, had Tiberian Sun but someone "borrowed" it.

Well I also got the CD audio off the Counterstrike CD, but one of the tracks in it (Voice Rhythm 2) contains a weird error that has been fixed in the jukebox version on Frank Klepacki's site, so even though I got it as pure CD audio rip, I still believe the correct version is superior, in that case, despite being 'only' MP3 :P

If you're interested, the CS soundtrack can be downloaded here:

The fixed track taken from Frank's site (MP3 saved directly; not recorded or converted in any way)

And here's the Sole Survivor soundtrack you asked:

Epic! Thanks :D

Do you want me to upload the Sega Saturn one too?

If you can. I can host the Red Alert One and Two if you want.

The limited edition Tiberian Sun OST is the only other one I'm missing.

Feel free to spread the link for the C&C flac around, I only use depositfiles because I'm unemployed and you get about $5 for 1,000 downloads. Not much, but every bit helps ATM.

I already found the RA2 soundtrack somewhere, so I'm cool there, and I got the RA1 soundtrack CD, both German and US editions. (only the US one has the bonus theme "Surf No Mercy"). I won't upload CD2 of the German one though, since those are all commercial tracks, and not game music.

I'm uploading the Sega Saturn tracks.

As for the TS soundtrack, I got that, but seeing as I found perfectly good links for it online, I won't bother uploading it myself:

Please don't bump old threads. As for the download links, they need to be replaced with the recent working ones.

If it's for something important, threads can be bumped. If the mods didn't close it yet, it means it's cool.

Dude... it's his own thread, on the same subject. That's not bumping.

I almost forgot about this. Do you still have the Sega Saturn files?

I got the sega saturn files, yes, but no idea where to upload em.

[edit]

Dumping em on Mediafire :)

Thanks much. It seems my old download still works for now, but I could rehost some of the ones Nyerguds posted if anyone still wants them.

I wonder how no one has yet posted the appropriate "Yay!" or "Woohoo!" your uploads certainly deserve :)

Are the stereo MP3s from FK's website?

Do you have the full Aftermath expansion set? :) I downloaded the RA1 and Counterstrike ones and they are perfect!

I noticed you left out Journey in the CS pack even though it was planned for it... Didn't you had it in a download link somewhere in FLAC?

Sorry, the Aftermath CD contains the same CD audio tracks as the Counterstrike one.

Journey? I don't have that in FLAC, but it should be in my normal RA MP3 packs... I'll see if I can upload them sometime soon. I got some music tracks uploaded here though. Journey is one of them.

AZ-Stalker thanked me in PM. He was also the one who requested the reuploads (in PM) :)

Yep. Seems I downloaded them all before he changed his jukebox :)

Changed the jukebox?I haven't visited his site in a long, long time, do you mean that the new changes have made it impossible to retrieve the original MP3 files?

I just tested it, and it doesn't seem too hard. They're just loaded from a different server. Looking in the cache for anything coming from files.podsnack.net after playing it in the jukebox seems pretty reliable :)

I can't figure out how to grab mp3s from Klepacki's site. I want to get a copy of all his Red Alert 1 songs as MP3 as the official sound track doesn't contain all songs. When I check the flash player cache it only has a settings.pol file. :/

It's not the flash player cache you should look in, but the browser cache. The files you're looking for might be renamed depending on the browser you use (in which case you should pay attention to file size: everything above 2 Mb is probably the file you're looking for).

Can you do a step by step how to do it? because I can't access the files anymore. A year ago I had all of the mp3s extracted from his site, but I lost them. Today I found out that you can't extract them the same way I did back then....

:( help...
