Six things to love and hate about the Nintendo 3DS

Recommended Posts

This is terribly the worst deal ever to buy a mini video game console, the same average price of a Xbox 360 console. When the Nintendo Wii was released it was also the same price as well, now that the regular price for the Wii has been lowered. Worse than that, the Nintendo 3DS can't take enough battery life to last as long as a laptop and the screen and the device, nothing much changed since the original Nintendo DS. The screen should have been bigger than that.

3D graphics on games? Yeah, several steps behind the PSP. But 3D games without the need of glasses, one step ahead than any other video game console.

Will I try it? Yes. Will I buy it? Definitely not.

A laptop's battery is bigger than an entire 3DS, don't expect them to be equal.

3D technology is not innovative, new, or in any way advanced. The "technology" has existed for decades, with or without glasses, for some reason, it has suddenly become the thing to do with games and movies. I suppose it was only a matter of waiting until it became cheap enough to mass produce.

The amount of battery usage aren't exactly equal either are they?

All the more reason to not compare the two...

I wouldn't buy one because Nintendo make it, and I've never really liked any of their games. To be fair I wouldn't buy any personal gaming machine thingey either as they seem like a waste of time, when I have a cellphone with fancy games with motion controls anyway.

Nintendo in my opinion just makes junk. First they make the Wii, without HD support. Then they say the Wii mote can do EVERYTHING except, then they start releasing all these other remotes, which kinda defeats the purpose yes? Meh.

As for 3D gaming, its a fad just like 3D movies except with the movies its just a desperate attempt to stall the invetiable death of traditional movie cinemas.

Reason for Gameboys/DSes: Advance Wars.

Advance Wars needs a Xbox 360 version, enough to control it with a joystick controller. That would have been more fun.

Yeah, to be honest, a couple of flashy things jumping out the screen whilst being on a flat dull background still isn't 3D. If there was hundreds of layers of depth to perceive and the detail was crisp no matter how close or far I choose to look within a scene... so it appeared more like an augmented virtual reality experience, then it'd be more than a fad.

I had more of a tech-gasm watching Avatar on Blu-Ray in full 1080p than I did watching in this so-called 3D revolution. The only real use for 3D at this time that takes full advantage of the technology is something where you're not gonna spend millions to render explosions and special FX... it lies in something simple... and that simple is pornography... After all you only watch the foreground action... backgrounds are always bland and boring anyway, and PoV takes you there anyway... I mean Bang!

Fortunately for me I have a wife and don't need that stuff anyway... well... actually, lets not go there!! :P

QFT! Enough said!

Errr. Speaking of Pokemon, I'm running a good emu on my phone. >:D

And for handheld gaming, well, sorry 3DS, the Sony Xperia Play will own you. Yes, it's official: the long-rumored PSP Phone. The Xperia has higher screen resolution, better control interface, much more comfy (lighter, smaller, thinner), much more numerous features (ITS A PHONE DAMMIT), and an Android OS to boot.

Face it: Nintendo really has no aces... Just a fan base. That's ALL. 3DS can suck it; it just ain't worth the bloated price. And the cameras suck, in fact; 640x480!? What the hell are photos like those for!? And the game selection? It's always been sucky for Nintendo, all they have is Pokemon (which is not to say that Pokemon sucks).
