PurpleGaga27 37 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Sounds like AMD has made a unexpected comeback. Someone tested out an 8-core CPU with overclocked speeds up to 8.429 ghz, by using liquid helium! This may be a bit too late by now, since some business servers in the world already got 16-cores and over (and even perhaps speeds of over 10 ghz). Malevolence 6 Posted September 15, 2011 Mmm! Yummy! Lets see how this fares against Intel's Sandy Bridge-E! Share this post Link to post
ptd163 0 Posted September 15, 2011 Congrats AMD you finally did something right. But honestly, who have access to liguid nitrogen and helium. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted September 15, 2011 There are always tests like this with processors. I've seen things like this done on TV with liquid nitrogen, and that was done live while they were at it. This is just a "how fast can we make it go" kind of test with no real significance other than sounding mildly impressive. Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted September 19, 2011 Psh. They should just cool a processor to superconductor temperatures, and see it shatter current records with a few thousand times that speed Share this post Link to post
