Tore 33 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Tore, get a new PC from the future already..... I feel no need to have a better PC than the one mentioned as my main one on page 2 yet. It runs pretty much everything on Ultra/high at 2560 x 1440 at 60 FPS or higher while I do other stuff in the background. Edited October 30, 2016 by Tore Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted October 31, 2016 I have an AMD A-10, everybody laugh 8gb of RAM tho, and CnC3 runs on high detail. Okay it's ~10 years old but it uses heaps of lighting effects. kek. AMD that's not Zen. Hilarious. Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 40 Posted January 11, 2018 I'm hoping to build a mostly new rig this year. But that's only if my tax return is big enough. Intel Core i7 8700 series, here I come. Share this post Link to post
Lauren 77 Posted January 11, 2018 eh purple, why do you have a ton of pcs but all of them have crap hardware? Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 37 Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) 6 hours ago, Lauren said: eh purple, why do you have a ton of pcs but all of them have crap hardware? Because two of my older PCs are slow and are seldomly used, and the ones I have right now are frequently used, including a tablet. I am mostly sticking on a low budget. A new PC for me will take another several years because.... RAM/video cards/solid state drives are expensive now, octa-core CPUs from Intel aren't yet cheap enough and a based clocked 5-ghz CPU from Intel isn't there yet. While AMD Ryzen chips are relatively cheaper than Intel, their overall speed performance are no match for Intel, no matter how many cores you put in. Pretty much the crappy hardware I am stuck for now are the slow CPUs with no hardware virtualization and the low RAM. Edited January 12, 2018 by PurpleGaga27 Share this post Link to post

PurpleGaga27 37 Posted April 14, 2018 Still 5 hard drives? Even 8 to 12 TB HDD are pricey these days. An 8 TB HDD should cost about $200 USD by now and it's not even close... compared to a 4 TB HDD for less than $100. But at least you got two pricey SSDs. Never thought about going for a 8+ core CPU anytime soon? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted April 14, 2018 (edited) Neither SSD was that pricey and good 6 to 8 TB drives aren't cheap. They're still too much for me to justify spending at the moment. I only got new parts thanks to a hefty tax refund. Edited April 14, 2018 by Doctor Destiny Share this post Link to post

PurpleGaga27 37 Posted June 5, 2018 The prices of solid state drives continued to drop with the Samsung 860 Evo 1TB SSD selling at the lowest cost of $152.99 USD (originally $329.99) at the Walmart website!!! Unfortunately in minutes it was sold out even though some people thought it was a pricing error. Amazon and Newegg is selling that same type of that product for about $250 USD. Still the only good deals I saw in Walmart recently are the HP S700 PRO 512 GB SSD for $100 and the 256 GB SSD (same brand & model) for $60. I want to buy and use a SSD so badly but I still half expect for the 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB SSDs' prices to continue dropping further, and be nearly on par with the USB flash drive prices.
