CyborgBanana 5 Posted July 14, 2013 (edited) Red: Absolutely not. Yellow: I think that's Frank, right there. Blue: Another possibility. Blue: ... yeah, maybe not. lol. I think the general in the yellow circle is Frank. EDIT: Oops, bit late on this one I see... Edited July 14, 2013 by CyborgBanana 1 Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted July 14, 2013 ENTRY 45 - July 14th, 2013C&C 4 ZONE RAIDER AS A CONNECTION TO C&C ARENA? Take a look at this concept's date. 2008 was the year about which C&C Arena was in presumed development, while C&C 4 was, allegedly, made in approximately 9 months (since summer 2009?). Although this particular design did not pass, the unit itself did, likely giving it the status of a recycled, or, if you will, saved unit from C&C Arena. 1 Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted July 15, 2013 ENTRY 46 - July 15th, 2013SIMILAR TIBERIAN INCURSION AND RENEGADE 2 UNITS Take a look at these three pictures. Although nearly identical at first glance, these units are quite distinct. The first one is a Soviet soldier from Renegade 2, while the second one is the Soviet heavy trooper, also from Renegade 2. The third one is the Nod heavy trooper from Tiberian Incursion, which is similar to the Soviet one, but has a complete mask, a differently shaped weapon, dual exhaust pipes and a more protected cybernetic arm. Notice the same style used in these concepts, which reflects the fact that both games were intended to merge the Tiberium and Red Alert universes. Curiously, all of them have a same date stamp (December 13th, 2001). 1 Share this post Link to post

Plok 319 Posted July 21, 2013 ENTRY 48 - July 21st, 2013CONFUSING RA2 AIRCRAFT DESIGNS Allied aircraft has mixed designs in Red Alert 2. The NightHawk Transport is, according to EVA Database, a fusion between the Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight and the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion... ...while according to the working name of the unit, "Black Hawk Transport", it would be the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk. The Harrier, on the other hand, is a McDonnell Douglas/Boeing AV-8B Harrier only in the cutscenes and the cameo. The voxel actually resembles the Grumman A-6 Intruder instead, which is confirmed by the units working name, "Intruder". Share this post Link to post
MrFlibble 31 Posted July 22, 2013 ENTRY 47 - July 20th, 2013 HIDDEN RA2 CURSORS Here are several hidden/unused cursors in Red Alert 2. 1 - Guard mode (often seen in mods with medics) 2 - deploy nuclear warhead (possible Demolition truck feature) 2a- negation to 2 3 - ??? 4 - residual Tiberian Sun vehicle selling cursor 5 - residual Tiberian Sun waypoint cursor 6 - disguise 7 - mind control? 7a- negation to 7 8 - remove Giant squid? 9 - ??? 10- steal technology? 11- cut power? 12- residual Tiberian Sun waypoint cursor 13- deploy to bunker 14- ??? 14a-negation to 14 15- detonate 16- blue movement cursor 16a- negation to 16 17- residual Tiberian Sun power control cursor 18- residual Tiberian Sun healing cursor 19- animated Chronoshift cursor (is static in final game) 20- alternate deploy cursor 21- ??? 22- beacon I don't think that #2a is negation to #2, it seems like some leftover cursor from Tiberian Sun. Maybe #14 and #14a a re related to unit rally points? As for the blue cursor #16, could it be a naval unit movement cursor? 1 Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted July 23, 2013 #3 seems to be an Undeploy cursor, for Construction Yards perhaps? 2 Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted July 24, 2013 ENTRY 49 - July 24th, 2013McNEIL'S SURVIVAL (PARTIALLY) EXPLAINEDThe fact that Michael McNeil was not mentioned as a crewmember of the Kodiak during its crash at the start of the Firestorm Crisis has raised some question marks above our heads. Even though he was the ship's commander, he was officially absent from it at the time. Westwood originally intended to kill him that way, but the lack of any mention whatsoever, combined with a full studio change, led to McNeil's reappearance in the Tiberium Wars novel and the cancelled TIBERIUM, as well as a mention at the start of Kane's Wrath. Entry 50 will be the final one in the thread, at least until the next C&C is released and more trivia arrives. Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted July 26, 2013 ENTRY 50 - July 26th, 2013 - FINALSCRIN MESSAGESThe first Scrin message, released as concept art, was decyphered by Issvar, who came to the conclusion that Scrin letters are based on the Roman numeral system. We have seen some of these in the cutscenes as well, so I have taken the liberty of doing this myself (don't know if anyone else has done this, so please tell me). PurpleGaga27 37 Posted July 26, 2013 (edited) Say, Plokite, you're not going to post any C&C trivia involving C&C music that was never released publicly? Other than the Battlecast Primetime theme, there was one other song unreleased (and still no one confirmed it), if you hear between 4:55 to 6:16 of the video of the BCPT Nov 2009 episode, you know what I am talking about: Although the musician CB Shaw composed the RA3 Remix, he may have composed the remix for the other half of the Hell March remake performed by "From First to Last". theharkonnen 0 Posted March 20, 2019 I know this is an old topic, but I was wondering if anyone had any more information regarding the original C&C95? In old pictures, it looked like nod had medium tanks and guard towers. Building skins were also changed. Were these simply place holders or ...? Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted March 20, 2019 Not really the topic to be in for this discussion, but game assets change as development time goes on. In some games it happens more than in others, though these days few developers bother to change their early assets. But back in the mid/late 90s, devs were not above manipulating images with Photoshop-alikes to make promo images for the public. Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 2 are particularly guilty of that. There are more WIP screenshots in our gallery, and at CnC-Comm. Share this post Link to post
