How to define a C&C game

Recommended Posts

PizzaAtomica, a long-time C&C fan from the official C&C forums, posted this interesting image of a chart on defining CNC games (I doubt this was included on C&C Wiki though):

Why should it be? It's fan-made and opinion. For some people, the last row, "It says that it's a Command and Conquer on the box" is sufficient and the only defining factor.

Why else do you think people bought C&C4? :P

And no, this doesn't have a place on the Wiki if not located on a user's personal profile.

Hmm, oddly that chart aligns with what games I preferred most in the C&C franchise.

Some of the criteria to being a C&C game are a little silly though.

They forgot "it uses left-click context-sensitive mouse commands, and right-click for deselecting" :P

Meh. Red Alert > Tiberium. Seriously.

Its resource is kind of silly, though ;)

Hmmm, titles from Generals onwards have it the other way around as a default (but configurable) setting... How would it count?

Ehh... Generals never had that as configurable option, did it? They only introduced that (and, quite poorly) in C&C3.

but all right... add "by default" behind it :P

They could have replaced the last row with that, since it being called C&C is a given to even make the list at all (until they pull another Tiberium on us and drop the label from an otherwise obvious C&C game).

Generals had that as an option and it did it well. So did TW and RA3. No idea about TT though.

Wait, he didn't mention Sole Survivor (it should be 35% based on his opinion).

SS is a mostly forgotten game, barely anyone even remembers it.

I totally own it, though :P

(then again, I kinda collect C&C1 versions, so, yeah ;) )
