Generals & Zero Hour in Humble Origin Bundle 2

Recommended Posts

Both C&C Generals and it's expansion pack, Zero Hour, have been included the latest Humble Origin Bundle. Also part of the bundle is Dragon Age: Origins, Peggle, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor Allied Assault War Chest and more. Remember, with Humble Bundle you pay what you want. At retail, these games add up to $134. But you choose to what to pay. If you decide to pay more than the average to get all of those games you will also get Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Dragon Age II, Bejeweled 3, and Mass Effect 2. Electronic Arts and Origin are forgoing the profits from this bundle, all of the proceeds that would ordinarily go to them are instead going to charity. So its a good cause. More details are available here.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold the phone. How does anyone expect to redeem Origin codes for a game that doesn't exist (individually) on Origin?

Generals and Zero Hour have their pages on the EA games list: http://www.ea.com/uk/command-and-conquer-generals and http://www.ea.com/uk/command-and-conquer-generals-zero-hour , but far from it that you can get them separately from TUC.

It wasn't until last month that Gen/ZH was digitally re-released by Aspyr Media for the Mac OS X, and I've got no idea how EA didn't do the same for the PC version when Aspyr merely mentioned something of the sort.

(but hey, that alternate Generals cover is pretty awesome!)

Are you saying this pack is a hoax?

Pretty much looks so. Unless EA made a secret separate entry for Generals and Zero Hour on Origin, which would cause more organizational problems and would generally be an idiotic idea.

Why would it cause more organizational problems? Some games already have tens of entries for each version and language combination. There are also a lot of games/versions that can be unlocked on Origin but don't have an equivalent store page.

Well i guess we'll see next month, we bought one of those packs for a contest in the near future for Renegade Imperial Age.

We'll see if the winner can actually redeem C&C Generals + Zero Hour or not then, unless someone else reading this has purchased it and can confirm it works or not.

Humblebundle gets bought by thousands. If they would have done any sort of shady things you would know already as it would be all over the net.

It would still cause the fans some pretty damn large headaches with community support (patching, GenTool, troubleshooting, fighting the bloated **** that is Origin) either way, especially knowing how EA can't re-release C&C games properly for the life of them.

Steam does this oh-so differently. Back when Worms Revolution was in development, pre-orders on Steam would get you Worms Armageddon, and anyone and everyone could see the product page for it even though there was only one way of obtaining it. Only some time after that, WA was released separately with Steam-compatible patches and whatnot.

These times are also already long gone, though now there's a community page created automatically for each game, but not different versions. In fact Steam works a lot like Origin if you look under the surface.

You get one single Origin key for the bundle. It's not a hoax at all. I've bought it to eventually play Dragon Age games.

Yup. Like with TUC, it's one "bundle key", and the games in the bundle just include Generals and Zero Hour.
